Love you ladies! Your debut album kills it! Not a single filler track. Just sad you only offer the picture of the band t shirt to Brazilian addresses... other than that, love your work! Hope you release a live version of the album.... just got the "I Resign" single with the bonus live version of "Shadow Within" (which happens to be my most fave track)
i'm really intrigued by her playing. i really appreciate your honesty. don't sleep on crypta. all female band. dual soloing lead guitars. lead singer/bassist who obviously loves what she does. i didn't know she had her own channel - def going to check that out.
Luanna and Fernanda (bass, vocal) were in Nervosa before starting Crypta. Signed to Napalm records. Death metal. Check out their other stuff. It's not all manic pace. 😊
You should listen to some of her other songs with the band because she does actually have a couple of songs on that record that are slower, have groove, and some dynamic play. There aren't ALOT of songs like that, but she does show her more dynamic side in some of the other songs.
Sempre gostei de apreciar os grandes bateristas do rock, do metal e do progressivo. Nunca gastei de trash até escutar e ver a Luana tocando. Velocidade, precisão e criatividade aos montes.
Listen to more of Crypta songs. Luana is recently thought of as one of the best metal drummers, let alone death metal. I loved your critique of simply that one song. She is much more than one tune, as is also the band.
Great reaction vid. And ur right Brutal slam ain’t about normal dynamics. It’s supposed to be relentless. But there are a ton of intricacies in her drumming & lots variety in their music. Killing guitar riffs and melodies. Also more groove in the metal than you say. IMHO only
This song is relentless alright. If you want to see dynamics from Luana, check out her playthrough of the song I Resign. Still death metal, but more a more varied performance rather than the brutality of Starvation.
Check out her other playthroughs... she is freaking awesome! Also check out Darkside (of Mgła) cymbal work in Exercise In Futility V. The drum cam version. Or George Kollias' "Shall Rise, Shall Be Dead" drumcam.
Try listening to Junna drum play-through of Dragonforce Through The Fire And Flame for a hyper cover, or Rick K. & The Allnighters covering ZZ Tops Sharp Dressed Man for the "Crazy Drummer"
Thanks Lou! I've seen that Rick K. & The Allnighters one a few years ago, absolutely awesome! So much fun. I haven't seen Junna though, I'll add that to my list now.
@@SteveOGRock Tina S also has an excellent cover of Through the Fire and Flame on guitar, as well as a fantastic version of Moonlight Sonata done in a sorta heavy style. Also take a look at Frog Leap Studio (Leo Moracchioli) heavy Metal covers, with a comedic twist, start with either Africa or Sultans Of Swing.
Some serious chops here. Very well done. Super clean technique (which is weird to say when you're talking about metal that's just plain filthy like this). You're 100% right about the dynamics. I'd love to see more variation and range, but the skill that's put on display here is great, without a doubt. My main critique is the body language. I have the same issue with Zev from Spiritbox. He can play the fuck out of that kit, but he kinda looks stonefaced doing it, y'know? Like he's just going through the motions, I guess. And I love Spiritbox. Same here. Incredible talent, but I would love to see a little more showmanship (show-woman-ship?). To clarify, I don't mean the flashy show-off stage antics you see in some drummers, I mean the involuntary body movements that spontaneously happen then you're completely involved in the moment. There are some drummers I love, specifically Aric Improta (Night Verses) and Adam Janzi (Vola) who are so technically gifted and also play with their whole body. They *feel* the music and become part of it. And they're on par with the Careys and Pearts and Copelands of the world. But they have that x-factor, that charisma when they play that takes them to the next level. You know when John Mayer plays, he just gets lost in the music and the "guitar-face" happens? These cats are the same in that regard. They get so into it that the music just flows through them and their whole performance. I kinda lost the thread here, but I liked the video. Great feedback as always and I enjoyed watching Luana play. I'd love to see more of her work and watch her grow. 🤘
@@SteveOGRock yeah I feel like it's maybe an indication of being self conscious or something? I guess what I'm saying here about Luana and Zev is that they're clearly very gifted. But their performance would benefit from a little selfless abandon. There's that old saying, dance like nobody's watching. That applies here. There's magic that happens when an artist lets loose and just flows with it. Which is a separate skill from technical proficiency.
@@SteveOGRock I just went back and checked out a video she did for Paiste and I gotta say, I have a ton of respect for her skill. She's super disciplined and tight as fuck. But yeah, I wish she'd relax a bit and allow her technique to be a little more organic, I guess. Such a weird critique, but she really is a superb drummer. Def worth checking out this video on your own time. She's legit. th-cam.com/video/vAiFYb3FXiA/w-d-xo.html
@@craigbillow I've noticed some drummers seem "shy" when they've got a camera pointed at them... check out Jon "Charn" Rice when he filled in for Behemoth's drummer Inferno (who was on paternity leave)... "Ov Fire and the Void" and "Conquer All" are a couple videos he has on TH-cam
Hmm... possibly... that is definitely an appropriate word but I swear my drum teacher used a specific word for it rudimentally but I'm totally drawing a blank on it.
I really appreciate your reaction video, thanks a lot! 🙌🏻
Luana! Thanks for stopping by my channel. I'd never seen your drumming before this video. You are an absolute machine. Brilliantly done. Nice work! 👏🏻

Luana is awesome!! incredibly skilled!! 🤘🙂🥁
Luana is really great on Drums. Always a pleasure to listen to 🤘🖤🤘!!! CRYPTA 🤘🖤🤘!!!
Bass player here!
I saw Luana with her old band Nervosa and she absolutely steals the show 🤘
Love Crypta!!!!!!!!
Same! Just wish they'd sell the band photo t-shirt outside of Brazil.
I love the fact she pulls it off live….
Good times in New Orleans

Thanks! Added to my to-do list.
She had you squealing.🤣🤣
Well, she's been practicing! You're right, definite lack of dynamics, but to be honest, I was so busy watching her I barely noticed. Awesome!
Oh yeah, the lack of dynamics is me nit-picking really. It's a masterful performance for sure.

Luana is fuckin bad ass ,the best drummer I've ever seen ! Blasting out then beats I love Crypta !!!!!!!!!!!
Algo me diz que essa moleca é do Brasil kkkkkkk... Parabéns Luannnaaaaaa[...

@@SteveOGRock i second this!
Somewhere out there in the æther, Karen Carpenter smiles
Female version of Eloy Casagrande
🤘
She use Paiste 2002 gigabell ride. Yes it with huge bell and its better play ride bell fast parts. .
Luana is fucking amazing 🤘
I'd suggest to increase you mic volume a bit
