I live alone but when I watch these meal plans I still use them,! People are complaining because it's large meals for families....with a little thing called.... "Math" we can make these and quarter them and freeze them into smaller portions, which is what I do...great job as usual Christine!
When cooking casseroles topped with cheese for a soup kitchen, I learned if you spray the inside of your foil before you cover it the cheese won’t stick to the foil and make a mess of your expensive big casserole!
You are my favorite TH-cam mom I watch. You have inspired me to get back on track after this quarantine. Thank you for reminding me how important it is to stay healthy and be frugal for my family!
This is literally heaven sent. I have been struggling with T2 Diabetes. Yesterday was my 29th birthday and I have been scrounging pinterest trying to put together healthy meals. I will eat everything on the July meal plan and it was Free! In 20 minutes I have printed out my grocery list for the month, and prepped dinner for tonight!
I was thinking the same! I bet you could easily add some frozen broccoli or cauliflower into the assembly too to make creating a full meal even easier 😋
I have been meal planning for about 2 years now. I joined eating together today just to try it out, since it is free. Oh my goodness, it is a dream come true. I love most of the recipes. Some will have to be tweaked for our family. Others won't work but the resource it gives is amazing! Gonna share the cost with my married daughter and share the recipes too. Thanks for the review!
Christine!! Thank you. I am preggers and all of these will be so helpful for after baby comes. And I have to say I've been watching so many videos like this but yours was the best because you kindly shared the cooking instructions which others did not do. So I can't say thank you enough
I've been using Eating Together since April and I enjoy it. I never have a clue what to cook for myself so this has come in so handy. Definitely worth the $5 for all the work that's put in for it.
Loved this video! I did subscribe to the eating together deal, I'm so excited to try this. We are down to the youngest (21 yrs.) "kid" at home and so my perception of what food I need and the amount of food I actually need are two different things. I am hoping the subscription is helpful to eat more nutritiously and keep fewer food on hand so all of it will fit in my cupboards/fridge/pantry. Thank you!
This sounds like a hit to me!! No weird ingredients (kid friendly,) fast prep & not very pricey. Win-win!!!!! Thanks for sharing this as I've never heard of this company. I'm excited to give this a try 😁!!
This is probably the first freezer meal planning video I've seen where I actually think, "Oh, I'm going to do ALL of these!" Our family doesn't enjoy pesto sauce, so instead I'm going to add Italian dressing for my chicken to marinade in... other than that, this looks OUTSTANDING! Thank you Christine for showing these. You are a bundle of energy, and I can only hope to get mine done within an hour, LOL! Thanks!
Dietitians are the best! The one I went to (btw, health insurance often fully covers 6 visits a year) really helped me learn how to eat intuitively, understand how to make healthy food choices and how to make grocery lists. I know it sounds dumb but emotional eating was all I knew so it really helped.
OMG that Ravioli bake looks oh sooooo good. My Son loves Mexican food so he would more than likely love the Mexican bake. The first chicken dish with the sauces looks really good too. I wish that I had a bigger freezer now.
I'm in my 3rd or 4th month of getting the Eating Together meal plans and they are great. I mainly pick and choose recipes based on my family's preferences and schedules. I don't really follow the plan but I'm cooking more so it's still totally worth the $5 a month.
Thank you so much! I love your videos and Eating Together is just what I didn’t know I needed. My kids have been asking for different meals from my normal rotation.
I also don't love ground turkey, but got a tip in a diet plan a couple decades ago that said to add some vinegar and chili powder to it. it cuts the weird after taste that ground turkey has. We just play around with the amounts and what type of vinegar we used. :)
This is a great tip! Thank you, we often tried and use ground turkey for taco night but gave up after the kids kept refusing to eat it 🤣 I think we will try again with this.
....Indeed. I used ground turkey for making Sloppy Joes when my daughters were young, I alternated between the grass fed, organic ground beef, and the ground turkey. Once you add that tip you mentioned, as well as Sweet Chili Sauce ( I use Heinz) , Worcestershire sauce, garlic, etc, all that and the tomato paste, ... it tastes just fine. 🙂
I just signed up and I can’t wait to see July’s menu. I struggle with making new dishes and I feel like we eat the same thing over and over. Also, I really appreciate that they are thinking of diabetics! Thanks for sharing!
So funny. I would've never noticed a few dishes had you not pointed it out. I'm here to watch YOU AND ALL THE GOODIES YOU BRING TO THE TABLE🤩 I don't care about the dishes and if others do pay them no mind!
Christine, Thanks you for that meal plans. I don't have kids but my nephew , his wife, their 3 kids and a family friend live with me. There is a lot of food waste. This will get us organized.
We do something similar to that taco bake but we call it "Mexican Lasagna" and layer it. Tortillas, taco meat, beans (or refried beans below the taco meat), salsa, cheese and repeat the layers. It is SO good and a family favorite!
Rhodes frozen dinner rolls are amazing! They are so versatile -- I love making garlic knots, and my Gma always made what she called 'sticky pecan rolls' when we visited. I suspect not too many people have ever tried them, which is proly a good thing for fans since stores don't seem to stock them in bulk, lol. Def will have to try the ravioli dish because my daughters love it, and like you, I just don't think to make it -- I always default to boxed pasta.
Wait..... you meal prepped and there are dishes in your sink!?!? FOR SHAME!!! My TH-camrs need to set unrealistic unattainable expectations or else how will I develop a complex that I will never be a good enough mom! Hehe I also hug with sarcasm. Loved the video!
on a side note. if you know that one of the meals has leftovers or you normally have leftovers. thaw a few of the rhodes rolls. flatten them out place some leftovers in them pinch it together and refreeze separately on a sheet pan. put them in a zip lock. when you have enough or are using the oven put them in and you have a nice snack or lunch meal. great for kids lunches or on the go meals. they are kinda like a hot pocket or beirock.
Awesome video! Now I have a couple more meals to prep for when baby gets here.. been scouring the interwebs for some good freezer meals and a couple of these will be a huge hit here for sure.
She actually does a large amount of meatless meals. to show how to save money. You can always delete the meat to make the meal vegetarian, use water or vegetable broth instead of chicken or beef stock.
For me it is so interesting watching how the Americans eat and cook . That's so different from Italian! I want to try using the pesto with chicken :) Thanks for the tip :)
@@jenniferharris1280 the italians are traditionalists with food. The cooking is a sacred thing :) The pesto is used only as a pasta sauce. But now I Don t live in Italy :))
This is a quick and easy meal that I think your family would enjoy. You can make it as a side dish or with a few simple additions turn it into a simple complete meal. Orzo Pasta Salad Cook a box of orzo pasta. While it cooks seed and dice 2 medium zucchini, a bell pepper (I prefer a yellow or orange one because I think they are sweeter but any bell pepper works. Add 1/2 a finely diced red onion and 1 carton of cherry or grape tomatoes sliced in half. The dressing is 1 cup of your favorite pesto. Also add salt and black pepper to taste. I usually buy a jar of Barillo Pesto and use that because I can keep it in my pantry so I can make this anytime I want as I buy these vegetable combos often. You can also add feta or mozzarella cheese, chopped kalamata olives and cubed grilled chicken or shrimp. We love this salad because it makes a huge bowl and keeps in the refrigerator several days so it's great to meal prep to take to work or school for lunches.
a huge tip for getting the ait out of ziplock bags is get them into water untill the zip i short before touching it and close it the water will naturaly push the air away out of the bag
