I personally use the Thermalright AXP120-X67 on a Fractal Ridge with exhaust fans. I don't get to 90+C on a single C23 run since I do set it on a -30 on Curve Optimizer. @@arch1107 oh ok so its optional for my 9800x3d. great xd
@@silverwerewolf975 some people like to delid these amd cpus, i wouldnt waste time, the cpu has the right shape so socket holds it in place properly, so no need, no
in fact you hear very little about it, there were some people delidding 7800x3d, but no indsutry around that really, in intel, you pretty much need it
I have huge problem with this CPU,now I must change desktop background slide from Intel to AMD
I am a gamer first. 3 years ago i went with the 5950X, because I wanted the fastest PC at that time. Using that I noticed that 6-8 out of the 16 cores were idle most of the time.
Then the 5800X3D came out, which was a lot faster in many games. I didn't buy it at first, because it was expensive, but later I was able to sell the 5950X and buy the 5800X3D and still have some money left over. I never needed more then 8 cores, so it was a good upgrade for me.
Last month I upgraded to the 9800X3D, I was able to get it within 5% of the MSRP. In certian CPU-bound szenarios it is really a >80% improvement over the 5800X3D.
I also use undervolting with my 9800X3D, which is not greatly binned. I get -20 on the curve and -10 in the shaper for high/max clocks. I get
Can't really compare those two temperatures because of sensor placement difference, but yeah 9800X3D does really good with heat transfer hence overlocking is enabled, which is main selling point. Happy for your upgrade this is an actual beast!
Do you still not recommend W11 for AMD? 9800x3d specifically
we are at a point microsoft is about to release win 12, win 11 had a bad update and made things worse
it is looking like win 10 will get 1 extra year of life, wont die in october 2025
win 11 is a mess

I have 7 9800x3d, RTX 4080 super, Asrock x870 riptide wifi board, patriot cl30 6000 MT/s ram and one big stutter ;/
This is my first AMD and probably my last ;/
Be honest, do you EVER go over 32GB of ram usage?
It's such a weird thing with premiere pro, even though the ram reported doesn't go over 32GB, the system starts having errors and the projects close down etc. with 32GB... Using 64 solved this issue for me personally and also others I know (Rocket Jump Ninja too).
@@techyescity yeah I've seen this at work as well (I work for a TV station) After effects certainly loves it too, but we've been doing some things in Davinci resolve (we got some new black magic cameras and they came with studio licenses) and that program seems to do much better with utilizing GPU acceleration for rendering
I'm coming from AM4 so why would I want the neutered 7800X3D when I can get the 9800X3D? Why would I save money buying outdated hardware when I can buy the latest hardware for $50 more? A easy cheap thousand dollars to do so.
9800x3d nowhere to find and it's 800€+ here
4:46 ..... *You placed the PSU the wrong way !! Now it is blocking, the GPU flow thru fan !!* ( while (the PSU) could take that air IN ! )
I wish AMD would increase their core count per CCD. Would be cool to have 16 core on a single CCD.
early leaks say that future ccds will have 12 cores if not more
if i have for both the money i choose instant the 9950x because who cares x3d? for my ai workloads i need power and cores no nearly useless cache and low core counts!
edit: ahhh windows now i know why you want a x3d thingy ... in linux renders the cpu not gpu so you need in linux more cores then windows but i say it so 20-25 minutes video can be rendered in 4,30-5 min (and no i have no ryzen 9 (till now....) :D
still can't get my hands on a 9800x3d, at least not for less than $750. scalpers suck
That case looks awesome, and snappy, great build! I play with so many ITX cases, almost always drilling out rivets etc and moving things around. Lots of configurations with that case is a huge plus.
6:20 .... WHY don't you leave a COMPLETE PC, at your friend in Japan ? Instead of dragging this around, in the plane ?!
so he can sell the parts when required and not just abandon a pc for months doing nothing?
his plan was not staying in japan for long periods of time, he goes there to see his son, and for a couple of videos, supposedly his son was going to australia, so he wouldnt travel often, but life has different plans it seems
if your replacing an intel CPU with the 9800x3d then you obviously aren't taking advantage of quicksync? Also are you just comparing in "editing" vs encoding? What are the encoding speeds compared to the 9950x? I find it hard to believe it's faster.
few people use quicksync and alot of people complains about quality loss, iirc bryan mentioned something about it many years ago, but people change their way of work often, so, limit yourself to a igpu, i wouldnt do it
A620 huh.
Not really a fan of the case, 19L is almost the size of NR200 or Jonsbo Z20 (which i personally prefer) which support MATX mobos, ATX PSUs and huge cpu coolers/aios. Whereas comparable sandwich cases like t1/terra/a4 are almost half it's size
I upgraded my viewing to Tech YES City!
Cryorig, what a throwback! I used the C7, M9, and H7 on my 4790k years ago.
I found the C1 on eBay recently for cheap and am using that now on my 10700.
What benchmarking numbers? I saw no 9950X vs 9800X3D performance comparisons. Oh, you'll work on that over the coming months???
And why so much b-roll of you moving the tray over and over and over like that??
It's a SFF sandwich style case like every other that came before it. It may be well built. It may be somewhat more adjustable. The overall size is the same limitation as the others. That's the bottom like with cases of this size and design. The best idea yet is Louqe Ghost top hat design. The top hats could have been a better design. That's a different discussion.
I can’t see them selling many cases not that ridiculous price especially when you can get the cooler master 200 max with a power supply liquid cooling and the cases for £250
your comment tells me you do not know much abut itx, where a water cooling reservoir can cost 100 dollars if you like custom water cooling
if you like itx, you better have the money to make it work, itx makes everything more expensive
The case is nice n all, but having similar cases for $80-150 makes the price of $250 not compelling, in my opinion. Maybe if they have a sale down to $150, I'll think about it.
i was really hyped for this case. they had to mess it up
9:15 if u want 6200MHz ram speed just buy then a 6200MHz kit but dont expect to make a 6000MHz kit to run at 6200MHz.
FR? 3 weeks before the 9950X3D drops - yeah that would be genius!
Absolutely, the Dual CCD isn't for me. 9950X3D isn't going to change that at all.
This is hardly an ITX case, it makes ITX parts look tiny. It's freaking massive. Yet it cannot accommodate an AIO, like what?
There is just so much stuff going wrong and you are not getting the performance that you should have while doubling the size. Poorly planned upgrade, I expect better from you Yesman one of the best PC builders on youtube. That smaller PC was fine just needed a better cpu cooling solution. Going bigger was supposed to accommodate at least a 240 AIO and proper ram with heatsink. IMHO this case failed on many fronts! It was wrong to just settle with A620 mobo too. I await the rectification aka the patches and updates to this PC build! A Lian-Li A3 case would have started a better build with B650M mobo, great ram height compatibility and AIO or massive HSF support at 26.3L!
Oh yeah don't worry this was just a starter for the 9800X3D, I really wanted to check out the Performance 1M, though it did miss the mark by not including Water Cooling support. As for the mobo yeah I only had the A620 on hand to get this project going, but will definitely perfect all this!
