Has anyone else realized that Greninja has fought three Bisharps throughout XYZ? That ninja’s Bisharp during the Ninja Village invasion, a Team Flare admin’s Bisharp in that cave when saving Squishy, and Alain’s Bisharp in the Kalos League finals. I do love these two Dark-Type warriors!
@Shubham I always pictured a Mega Bisharp similar to either Shredder from TMNT or Savitar from Flash. Bisharp is already an excellent competitive Pokemon with a great 125 attack and 100 defense, but it's Sp. Def and Speed of 70 could definitely get an increase with a Mega.
@@xxeex_xaxex6317 I agree. In the Black and White anime, Georgia’s was I think the only Bisharp we saw (or at the very least, knew the most), and it was cool, albeit kinda ha limited screen time. Also, the voice for it in the English dub was a bit dry, whereas with XYZ, it sounds like a serious and determined assassin (something you should expect from a Dark-Type with blades everywhere).

In my opinion Rockruff’s evolution was one of the coolest I have ever seen. The fact that it didn’t evolve into Midday or Midnight was a huge surprise and got everyone hyping it up on what the hell it is. I also loved the sun turning green when it comes downs and it shining on Rockruff’s eyes

To add to the Incineroar moment, it worked perfectly symbolically with Torracat basically taking the belt of the champ and thus becoming the champ itself

I'd say my top 3 evolution moments are... 3rd - Grovyle into Sceptile. I found it entertaining seeing Grovyle go Simp-Mode for a Meganium, but got *denied*. But the evolution set up the mini arc to develop Sceptile further. 2nd - Roggenrola into Boldore The battle with Clay was good, and seeing Roggenrola evolve was epic, the low, almost ominous music as it happen, and the visuals alone was epic. I'd dare say it's the best evolution from an animation and spectacle perspective. 1st - Monferno into Infernape. Yes, I'm biased because Infernape is my favourite Pokemon, and Chimchar into Monferno did have a bit more substance behind it in a narrative perspective... but seeing Monferno, under Blaze's power, control itself long enough to save Pikachu, Piplup, Empoleon and even Paul's Electabuzz was cool, and the evolution added to the moment. And the fact Paul watched the Pokemon he abandoned fully evolve before his eyes to rescue the Pokemon that won Paul their first full battle... It was just cool.
my favourites: noivern: stunning animation. sceptile: favourite pokemon, kinda funny with the simp mode. lycanroc: emotional. incineroar: perfect way to wrap up character arc.

I like that that the majority of Ash's Pokemon have been fully evolving in the newer series. Of all the Pokemon he's obtained (so far) in XY, SM, and Journeys, only his Rowlet didn't fully evolve
You know, I’m kinda disappointed that Monferno’s evolution to Infernape didn’t make this list. Not even in the honorable mentions. The way it harnessed the power of Blaze to evolve, in front of its old trainer was amazing.
I think it's mostly because how unoriginal his evolution was, it was just like most others team rocket create trouble, Ash and gang are in danger than Pokemon evolve to save the day, also it wasn't until Volkner gym battle that Infernape able to truly master his special blaze. Chimchar to Monferno was much more impactful.

Sometimes It feels like Ash is just betting on his Pokemon too evolve during an important fight. It's like he has some freaky power's that let him predict when they're going to evolve and clutch. it happens too often lol

I thought Infernape's gonna be one I love the episode , how Moneferno was finally able to control his blaze with Ash and then evolved into Infernape to save Pikachu,Piplup and Empoleon Then they are out of a flame wheel! It was freaking amazing 🔥

To me monferno evolving into Infernape is my favorite, the fact that ash took in the Pokémon Paul abandoned and helped it fully evolve into an infernape made me really enjoy it. That and infernape is my favorite Pokémon :3

Too me, Ash's Krokorok to Krookodile evolution was the best because the music that accompanied it was the icing on the cake to what was an already fantastic moment.
Idk why Lycanroc evolution wasn't in the list when it seem waaay better than most in the list, two episodes building up to him evolving where Rockruff going through so much to evolve which he want to since he see Gladion's Lycanroc, the evolution scene was beautiful, his rival Gladion's Lycanroc and midday form was there to witness and together all 3 forms of Lycanrocs howling make it such a great moment, I don't think any other evolution had this much things going through.
What I also like about Torracat's evolution is that is goes really well with the wrestler motif that Incineroar is based on. By beating Kukui's Incineroar the undisputed champion of Alola he won the "championship belt" and evolved into Incineroar.
I was able to guess the number 1 slot. Torracat evolving after beating Kukui’s Incineroar was such a great moment for me and caught me off guard when the episode came out. I think another thing people need to realize about Ash “not evolving his Pokemon” is that he usually gives his Pokemon the choice on whether they want to or not. Example: Pikachu. Ash doesn’t evolve Pikachu because that’s not what Pikachu wants, also it’s the mascot but in universe, Pikachu just doesn’t want to evolve.
Yeah I think it was done perfectly. Sure it could've just evolved mid battle and we could have an Incineroar ditto but I think Torracat wanting to waiting to defeat Incineroar as a Torracat only spoke volumes to the importance of this battle for it. It wanted to win as a Torracat and I think that's epic. On the topic of the misconception even if evolution never comes up like with Buizel then what does it matter sometimes. Ash still uses them to their fullest and it's not like he can just tell a Pokemon to evolve. Evolution in the anime is spontaneous and unpredictable. Sometimes Pokemon don't evolve and that's okay because they're still powerful.

Charizard (Funny moment, nice to get to know where the Togepi egg came from, iconic) 8. Quilava (after Johto I didn't think they would let Cyndaquil evolve but it deserved it really bad imo) 7. Krookodile (Just like you said, iconic to win and take the spot as strongest Unova pokémon of Ash) 6. Melmetal (Funny but also really cool to see how they would implement it and fully evolved a real mythical) 5. Sirfetch'd (Great little arc, real champion redemption for Farfetch'd and nicely paced, nice to see Wikstrom) 4. Incineroar (Great final for it's development, finally beating it's master & evolving, sad to didn't see it in action after league) 3. Lucario (The moment I was waiting for from M08 onwards, it was a long time but it finally happened in what a way!) 2. Lycanroc (This reminds me of my dog that sadly passed away on December 5th just after SM099 who was a Beagle) 1. Greninja (My favorite pokémon and the moment the first evolution I saw in the anime, also it was the most hyped moment for me because (Ash-)Greninja is my favorite pokémon, Ash-Greninja reached even bigger heights after this..)

"God" or not it was still lazy and nearly cost ash the league because of it, also denying it of any physical or much mental growth. At least Torracat and Lycanroc took their training way more seriously and their victories over their rivals had more meaning and impact behind them. It didn't take the cursed stone cos it was scared or disinterested in evolving so u can't say it doesn't want to evolve, and the fact that ash had a fully evolved team in Kalos makes this even more frustrating. What was the point of even giving ash a fully evolved team once and not keeping that up in every series since? At least journeys took notes but Alola? Rowlet needed to step up like the rest of his teammates, even melmetal who looked up to rowlet like a sibling, yet it was more focused on battling and bettering itself

I feel Chikorita’s evolution deserves a mention too, as her whole reason for evolving was to protect her beloved trainer - poor little thing was in tears as she watched her trainer get beat up for her! 😭 But from those tears, came the most precious Bayleef❣️
I was going into this list not knowing what to expect, which made every single entry a cool surprise. And I was like, damn, what will be on the top? And when you mentioned Incineroar, it hit me... OF COURSE. This is THE best evolution in the entire anime!

Yeah Swellow’s evolution was my favorite as well. Swellow is just one of my favorite flying types in general and seeing it evolve in mid battle inside a tornado was just epic!
#10 - this guy was surprising but I see why they were added. #9 - definitely one of my favorites. I expected this a little higher but still good choice. #8 - this moment was great. Very fun moment and well executed. #7 - I freaking love this guy. This was the best Pokemon Ash owned in this generation. I love him. :D
What makes the torrocat evolution all the more memorable is that when it roars while evolving, it's voice changes from a normal cat cry to a beast roar(it's only in the dub not in the japanese)
My best evolution episodes are the Fletchling into Fletchinder and Fletchinder into Talonflame ones, since both are pretty important in the long run, since they were kinda a set-up for Torracats evolution as well, as it never happened that a Pokemon who defeated its fully evolved form has went fully evolved, but Talonflame started it, with Incineroar following.
I completely agree with this video. My favorite evolution moments were 3. Swellow (it might have been Staraptor but Swellow evolved how he did first) 2. Charizard 1. Greninja

It's probs cos Swellow evolved against team rocket (who aren't that special) while Staraptor evolved against ash's main rival Paul and technically gave ash his first win over him

Yeah I mean the buildup to how Lycanroc evolved was handled pretty well. It was constantly angry even during Olivia's grand trials and took out his own teammate as a result, then left on its own to train, and after getting thrashed and healed by a guardian deity, we get an epic evolution moment that not only takes place at sunset, AND during the Green flash, but it also unlocks a special form only Ash has access to
My favorite evolution moment is definitely Chimchar into Monferno, because of the reasons you described. And it's not even close tbh. The evolution happens in a battle against Paul which would already just work on its own, but the moment also works in opposing Paul's training methods as Chimchar's ex-trainer who couldn't bring out his potential. Ash and Chimchar's bond, Chimchar's willingness to respond to Ash's call to help him win the battle in this do or die, 1 versus 4 moment, it's all something he never had with Paul and why he only evolved under Ash's ownership.
I honestly thought both evolutions of Litten were amazing. It's nice to see different colors when evolving and they both had the same energy of Litten/Torracat wanting to become stronger to beat Kukui's Incineroar. I also loved Rockruff's evolution, the scenery, the music, the fact that the other two forms of Lycanroc were there. Plus wasn't this the way of Nintendo introducing Dusk Lycanroc or did we get him in the game first? I can't remember
man I reber as a kid watching my first ever pokemon seires black and white, and I was already hyped into the battle Dragonite vs krocorock, until krockorock evolved and I was even more hyped.
Now she will never be ashs best pokemon, unfezant had a great evolution too, she won the first battle, fought her male evolution before being recalled, and managed to evolve and win the battle and the badge for ash

Yes, I'm biased because Infernape is my favourite Pokemon, and Chimchar into Monferno did have a bit more substance behind it in a narrative perspective... but seeing Monferno, under Blaze's power, control itself long enough to save Pikachu, Piplup, Empoleon and even Paul's Electabuzz was cool, and the evolution added to the moment. And the fact Paul watched the Pokemon he abandoned fully evolve before his eyes to rescue the Pokemon that won Paul their first full battle... It was just cool.

I was hoping to see Infernape make the list (which it still did, kinda) because that is the most meaningful evolution for me as a viewer. But, the Monferno moment is good, too, and if it had to lose to anyone, I’m glad it was Incineroar.

I like that that the majority of Ash's Pokemon have been fully evolving in the newer series. Of all the Pokemon he's obtained (so far) in XY, SM, and Journeys, only his Rowlet didn't fully evolve
You know, I’m kinda disappointed that Monferno’s evolution to Infernape didn’t make this list. Not even in the honorable mentions. The way it harnessed the power of Blaze to evolve, in front of its old trainer was amazing.
I think it's mostly because how unoriginal his evolution was, it was just like most others team rocket create trouble, Ash and gang are in danger than Pokemon evolve to save the day, also it wasn't until Volkner gym battle that Infernape able to truly master his special blaze.
Chimchar to Monferno was much more impactful.

To me monferno evolving into Infernape is my favorite, the fact that ash took in the Pokémon Paul abandoned and helped it fully evolve into an infernape made me really enjoy it. That and infernape is my favorite Pokémon :3

Too me, Ash's Krokorok to Krookodile evolution was the best because the music that accompanied it was the icing on the cake to what was an already fantastic moment.
Idk why Lycanroc evolution wasn't in the list when it seem waaay better than most in the list, two episodes building up to him evolving where Rockruff going through so much to evolve which he want to since he see Gladion's Lycanroc, the evolution scene was beautiful, his rival Gladion's Lycanroc and midday form was there to witness and together all 3 forms of Lycanrocs howling make it such a great moment, I don't think any other evolution had this much things going through.

What I also like about Torracat's evolution is that is goes really well with the wrestler motif that Incineroar is based on. By beating Kukui's Incineroar the undisputed champion of Alola he won the "championship belt" and evolved into Incineroar.
I was able to guess the number 1 slot. Torracat evolving after beating Kukui’s Incineroar was such a great moment for me and caught me off guard when the episode came out. I think another thing people need to realize about Ash “not evolving his Pokemon” is that he usually gives his Pokemon the choice on whether they want to or not. Example: Pikachu. Ash doesn’t evolve Pikachu because that’s not what Pikachu wants, also it’s the mascot but in universe, Pikachu just doesn’t want to evolve.
Similarly to how Bulbasaur doesn't want to evolve and why Rowlet ate an everstone
Yeah I think it was done perfectly. Sure it could've just evolved mid battle and we could have an Incineroar ditto but I think Torracat wanting to waiting to defeat Incineroar as a Torracat only spoke volumes to the importance of this battle for it. It wanted to win as a Torracat and I think that's epic. On the topic of the misconception even if evolution never comes up like with Buizel then what does it matter sometimes. Ash still uses them to their fullest and it's not like he can just tell a Pokemon to evolve. Evolution in the anime is spontaneous and unpredictable. Sometimes Pokemon don't evolve and that's okay because they're still powerful.

Totodile, corphish, Buizel, gible, Squirtle, scraggy, Oshawott, Snivy, paliptoad and Rowlet did not, so they had absolutely no good excuse to stay as they were. ESPECIALLY rowlet 😡👉. "God" or not it was still lazy and nearly cost ash the league because of it, also denying it of any physical or much mental growth. At least Torracat and Lycanroc took their training way more seriously and their victories over their rivals had more meaning and impact behind them. It didn't take the cursed stone cos it was scared or disinterested in evolving so u can't say it doesn't want to evolve, and the fact that ash had a fully evolved team in Kalos makes this even more frustrating. Yeah Swellow’s evolution was my favorite as well. Swellow is just one of my favorite flying types in general and seeing it evolve in mid battle inside a tornado was just epic!

My best evolution episodes are the Fletchling into Fletchinder and Fletchinder into Talonflame ones, since both are pretty important in the long run, since they were kinda a set-up for Torracats evolution as well, as it never happened that a Pokemon who defeated its fully evolved form has went fully evolved, but Talonflame started it, with Incineroar following.

Ashs Talonflame had two of my favorite evolutions. Both are worthy on being on this list but I'm with one
Incineroar is my favorite evolution. Personally, I would've had Lycanroc instead of Lucario, in no particular order.
Yeah I mean the buildup to how Lycanroc evolved was handled pretty well. It was constantly angry even during Olivia's grand trials and took out his own teammate as a result, then left on its own to train, and after getting thrashed and healed by a guardian deity, we get an epic evolution moment that not only takes place at sunset, AND during the Green flash, but it also unlocks a special form only Ash has access to
Tho I'd have kept Lucario here too cos his Evolution was also epic

My favorite evolution moment is definitely Chimchar into Monferno, because of the reasons you described. And it's not even close tbh. The evolution happens in a battle against Paul which would already just work on its own, but the moment also works in opposing Paul's training methods as Chimchar's ex-trainer who couldn't bring out his potential. Ash and Chimchar's bond, Chimchar's willingness to respond to Ash's call to help him win the battle in this do or die, 1 versus 4 moment, it's all something he never had with Paul and why he only evolved under Ash's ownership.
I honestly thought both evolutions of Litten were amazing. It's nice to see different colors when evolving and they both had the same energy of Litten/Torracat wanting to become stronger to beat Kukui's Incineroar. I also loved Rockruff's evolution, the scenery, the music, the fact that the other two forms of Lycanroc were there. Plus wasn't this the way of Nintendo introducing Dusk Lycanroc or did we get him in the game first? I can't remember
