The reason why Toulouse knew that it was the butler is because he sort of woke up for a second. If you watch it again you'll notice when Edgar checked on them in the basket after putting it in the motorcycle side car he woke up and looked at Edgar then went back to sleep. This is probably my favorite movie besides 101 Dalmatians. To the point I practically watched both at least once a day for months. I've practically got them both memorized and quote them often lol.
Napoleon is voiced by Pat Buttram who later would voice other Disney characters like The Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood, Luke in The Rescuers, Cheif in The Fox and the Hound and one of the Toon Bullets in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? He also voiced Cactus Joe in Garfield and Friends. His last voice role was the Possum Park Emcee in A Goofy Movie, which was released a year after his death in 1994.
Oh wow! Dude got around! That's awesome! Robin Hood is a movie I've been wanting to watch! Kind of like this film, I saw it when I was super young but I don't remember it haha
This was the first Disney movie made after Walt Disney's death in 1966. Even though Walt had approved earlier story material, he never saw or approved any animation because of his untimely death. This was the first one that The Nine Old Men had to do by themselves and the start of a shakey period between The Silver Age and Renaissance called The Dark Age.
The cats are cute not JUST for being cats, but for acting like a real family - Toulouse's "I TOLD you it was Edgar" sounds just like me when I was little and I knew I was right!
Oh, and I forgot something. All the kittens' names are a reference of the France. Toulouse : the name of a french city but most Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, a french painter, famousfor his painting of Le Moulin-Royge and its french cancan dancers but unfortunately dead young Berlioz : Hector Berlioz, a french composer Marie : Marie Antoinette the wife of the King Louis XVI
@@TheCatPrideCinema I don't know if you noticed it but when Edgar think to his plan we can see dollars in his eyes. That doesn't make sense because the money in this period was " le franc "
Ooo I'll add Galaxy Quest to the list! I've already seen The Fifth Element yeats ago but can react to it again if people don't mind it not exactly being a first time reaction haha
I’ve just found your channel and I have to say. You need more subscribers!! Your aesthetic and vibe is such a joy to watch. Also not many people watch Disney classics and can catch little details in animation. It shows you have care for the craft❤
Hello there! Thank you so much for the kind words! 😻 haha yeah I'm an artist myself so I try to keep an eye out for certain details 😺 but also yeah I really do enjoy these types of things 😋
The clear sheets they paint characters on are called animation cells. They paint the characters on the cells and put them over the backgrounds (I believe). Yeah, I wouldn't doubt that they reused the animation. They've done it multiple times, especially in the early years.
I just discovered your channel with this video today, but I think I'm gonna like this channel, a channel which I think needs to blow up soon. I shall watch this space. Also, fun fact: the songwriters for this film, The Sherman Brothers, are I think second generation songwriters, as their father, Al Sherman, wrote some popular early-20th century hits, like "A Thousand Times No", and "You've Got To Be A Football Hero"
Did you the the "Robin Hood" by Disney? In the sequence of the Song "The Phony King of England" you can see many pieces of the Song "Ev'rybody wants to be a cat". :) I love your reaction/commentary. Keep up the wonderful work. You rock, girl!
omg thank you so much! 😻😺 I haven't actually seen Robin Hood! I mean I did when I was really young but like The Aristocats, I don't remember it haha but I'll be watching it here on the channel soon 😻
Oh, you know, sleeping pills weren't really powerful back then (that's why Edgar putted them all). Also, it's not uncommon to see rich people signing all their assets to their animals. I'm french and I had a lesson about this in high school and that's because the animals are the ones who stayed truly loyal to them. I even saw an episode of a TV Show called " Little secrets between neighboors " where an old rich lady who just died wrote in her will than her nephew (her only heir) will inherit of everything only at the death of her parrot. She wrote to that until then, her loyal maid will live in her house and him in the little house next where her maid lived. You recognized the Cheshire Cat in Roqueford, well like I mentionned in your video about " Robin Hood " he's one of the characters Roger Carel voiced in french too.
hahaha I would certainly hope so 😹😹😹 that's so interesting that it was an actual thing for rich folk to give their assets and all to their pets! Never knew that was a thing! I have so many logistical questions 😹😹😹 I'll have to look into this more haha yeah Roger Carel is in everything it seems 😹 love it 🤘
@TheCatPrideCinema technically, it's not really legal to give the assets to their animals (at least, in France). Like I said in your other video, Roger Carel is behind Roquefort and Lafayette in this movie. I saw you reacted to " The great mouse detective " well, he's Basil
If I remember correctly, the same animator (Milt Kahl) who did Madam Mim in "The Sword in the Stone" and Medusa in "The Rescuers" worked on this film as well. He's known for the recognizable mannerism of his characters, one of them being the hand flailing thing Edgar did XD Here's a very interesting video done on his animation progress and style: th-cam.com/video/p-wwmBlH4YE/w-d-xo.html
Very fun reaction video! Have you ever watched the Jungle Book 1967? Would you consider doing a reaction video? It's such a timeless classic and very much from the same funky vein as the Aristocats.
Thank you so much! :D I have actually seen Jungle Book when I was a kid and a good handful of times since then haha However, I'm open to rewatching it if you don't mind that it won't be a "first time" reaction haha
Thanks for your reply. Absolutely, it would be very nice to see your reaction and no worries about the no "first time". I don't know when you last watched it but through the years, it's still so fun but as adults, we also perceive some aspects in a different light.
Would love to! But I've already seen it like a thousand times 😹 so it wouldn't be a first time reaction - amazing film nonetheless! Adore it so much and the soundtrack

The voice of Roquefort is also the voice of Winnie the Pooh, and Kaa from the Jungle Book.
