If you're going to do a "to be continued", you need to actually continue, and do so in a timely fashion. For movies, if you're going to do Deathly Hallows Part I, you need to have Part II locked in no more than a year later. I still don't get the hate for Iron Man 2. The only movies it blatantly sets up are Thor and Avengers: Assemble (with Avengers having initially been seeded at the very end of Iron Man), and neither set up overly interferes with the plot of Iron Man 2. It feels like a complete movie to me.
Always great: a bit horrifying that talented (Witch, Split, Glass, et al), Anya Taylor-Joy's name was not at the forefront of anyone's minds when referencing her... 😉
Alita, to me seemed similar to the first Matrix movie because you have hints of a backstory but both Alita and the Matrix can stand on their on as solo films. So I cant understand that criticism. Both Alita and Neo are protagonists we get to see their evolution or more formidable. Im a guy and Alita blew me away with the action and story.
I liked Iron Man 2. I thought it was fun and it introduced Black Widow. Of the Iron Man films, I least liked Iron Man 3. I thought it was unsatisfying.
My opinion which ultimately doesn't matter is that Alita was terrible, and yes I'm including the worldbuilding. They just had a character explain the world to you, that's not good worldbuilding. That's the wikipedia page the movie. You liked the world that's fine. You liked the characters that's fine, but it's ok to recognize the faults of something you like. As a movie telling a story it rushed through as much as it could as fast as it could, and the movie suffered hard for it.
To me, Alita was the worst movie I had seen in years. And that's saying something. Sorry. There were just too many film making choices that didn't make sense. Like why is the a single scene where the audience can hear Alita's inner monologue, and then it never happens again? Why did Alita go back to the motor-dome (or what it was called) at the end of the movie to become the champion? When did that become a symbol of resistance? So many issues...
I think from the comments you can tell thats an incorrect view. Plenty of people want those, but definitely no one is saying they don’t want more Dredd. They should definitely make more Dredd.

Guys, loyal viewer here. I think it's time to change up the format.
They could not honor the story by trying to jam the entire series into a movie.... The team behind Alita did what they needed to do to honor the series and start the story. If they tried jamming the full series into a movie literally no one would've been pleased.
Definitely Dredd 2
Always great: a bit horrifying that talented (Witch, Split, Glass, et al), Anya Taylor-Joy's name was not at the forefront of anyone's minds when referencing her...
😉
Need sequels Wanted the 1st had 2 much training. Burning should have 5 sequels. Blankman and meteor man
Alita must have not been very good, don't remember a single thing that happened in it!
Wait, I do remember a random Edward Norton cameo!
Also sequel most not wanted is se7en part 2 8
Alita, to me seemed similar to the first Matrix movie because you have hints of a backstory but both Alita and the Matrix can stand on their on as solo films. So I cant understand that criticism.
Both Alita and Neo are protagonists we get to see their evolution or more formidable.
Im a guy and Alita blew me away with the action and story.
I liked Iron Man 2. I thought it was fun and it introduced Black Widow. Of the Iron Man films, I least liked Iron Man 3. I thought it was unsatisfying.
I actually least like Ironman 1. Unpopular opinion I know!
De-age Harrison and I'll go see Solo 2
Hell boy 3
My opinion which ultimately doesn't matter is that Alita was terrible, and yes I'm including the worldbuilding. They just had a character explain the world to you, that's not good worldbuilding. That's the wikipedia page the movie. You liked the world that's fine. You liked the characters that's fine, but it's ok to recognize the faults of something you like. As a movie telling a story it rushed through as much as it could as fast as it could, and the movie suffered hard for it.
Power Rangers deserved a sequel.
Bring back roxy
Alita? Mmmmokay
They stupid af Alita was og and elite
I just did not think Alita was a good movie. It looked nice. That was about it for me. To each their own I guess.
Okay thumbnail aside...no one wants a new alita or freaking superman....i will take another dredd movie with carl.
I think from the comments you can tell thats an incorrect view. Plenty of people want those, but definitely no one is saying they don’t want more Dredd. They should definitely make more Dredd.
