Hi, Mike. And, no. Oletta would not love that keyboard. What I love is my new, Razer Huntsman V3 Pro keyboard with analog optical switches. I had no problem with handing over $250 USD for it, as it is well worth the money to someone like me who types for a living. Typing eight to ten hours per day on this keyboard is a breeze. It's funny how things change over the years. There was a time when the TUF logo meant quality. Now it means ASUS' bottom of the barrel offering.
Great review,I have this and mouse combo full aurora sync with ram and MB. As an old school gamer suits me and grand kids come over and love the lighting effects from all components. And yes I play 60s music flat out in my garage on it and the volume knob is very responsive to quick reduction when the Domestic engineer enters 😂
Thanks Mike and Lady Kath, but I'll pass on this one. Lost all joy for ASUS products about 10 years ago and never looked back. Now it's either MSI or Gigabyte for me. Take care all. Cheers
Must be honest I dont see £50 in a wired keyboard as much prefer wireless as dont use a desk. Much prefer my 65% wireless Tecurs kb. But at the ebay prices thats is defo a bargain and good quality too. Thanks for reviewing Mike and Kath. 👍
Looks like a decent keyboard and those keycaps look nice, Im enjoying that font. At this price there are a LOT of different options, especially if you order from AliExpress and can wait a week so to see ASUS release this at around 50 quid its a bit disappointing. Im with the mighty Colin Hilton, when you have a keyboard as good as the MSI GK30 its difficult to justify this keyboard at this price. Thanks Mike and Kath 🙂
That was some good bargain hunting. At full price, it's fighting with actual mechanical keyboards, no-name variety. And I really must set up my keyboard showdown, Marvo vs Arvo
It has "gaming" written on it, a big no no for me. A few years ago I managed to pick up a German QWERTZ Roccat Vulcan Pro Aimo for about £40 off eBay, I just swapped the Y and Z key and changed the keys on the software. The Keyboard usually retails for about £160. Optical keys, they're okay.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the keyboard Mike.l have to be honest and say it isn’t as nice as the MSi GK30 keyboard for round about the same price 👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good review Mike;well explained as to the plus and minus of the keyboard.l think the MSi GK30 which l’m using, although in the same low end category as the ASUS tuf,is a better overall keyboard.Thank you for sharing your review 👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@@mikesunboxing A rotary volume control doesn’t bother me.In fact,l think it would spoil the look of the keyboard.l read some comments that you can’t slow the RGB speed down below set 50%,but l’ve done it by pressing and holding down the dragon key and tapping the end key-at least l think it was the end key.l’ve now got the RGB lights working at a nice speed
no sorry to really. you could in theory try and find a mechanical keyboard circuit board and deck that would fit inside the shell and mod it that way, but then you might as well just buy the mechanical version to start with
I just got this key board and its amazing i use it for gaming and i like the fact that it does not make much sound its a nice key board the button are kinda soft ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
@@mikesunboxing so no need to remove the key caps? I still need to as I fear that some dust that can't be reached by brushing are hiding beneath the keys.
1:40 Your msi board is expensive? I found an offer for about 100 dollars I have a corsair k100 opx rgb which costed me over $200. Damn I went overboard with this but it should last a decade or half which is what I wanted since I don't like to switch my gear often

sounds like a nice keyboard! i will investigate, interested in analogue optical
Moin 😀 If you type for a living. then get a Unicomp 👍
@@WilliamAndrewPhilipBodie Thanks, but Razer is the perfect fit for me.
comparing 250$ keyboard with a 50$ one
@@FFGamer-ke9hf Right, there is no comparison. At least, not if you write for a living as I do.

they do last a long time i'll give you that. just way too expensive
An honest 'review' of an ok keyboard. I stick with my beloved Ducky, but for an Asus fan this sounds like an OK option.
yeah for Asus fanboys it makes sense, otherwise there are better options out there unless it is an absolute bargain

i just tried a direct comparison with the msi gk30 and the msi is light years ahead, except the volume wheel. no one's perfect :)

Agreed! With these the used route is the far better option, some real bargains to be had
I bought one and returned it. I find it hard to see the keys since I don't touch type. Besides that, its a good value keyboard.
Great review as always :)
Have you seen the IONZ KZ-V Mini Aether yet?
no i haven't yet, i will take a look

yes i agree totaly
Is it worth it for 16 pound just ordered it on some deal so considering whether to take it or cancel it ?
yes i think so, especially if you are in the ASUS eco system, if not there are some other good alternatives about
can we remove the keys for cleaning ?
yes you can

yeah the gk30 is a more pleasant typing experience, if it had the rotary volume control it would be amazing

can you remove the keykaps so you can clean this keyboard?
yes they do come off, but not really needed, use a paint brush and mild detergent and that gets it done
