    Hi Peter, just came across this video. I worked in the shipyards of glasgow so have always been inspired by the industry plus I was a Draughtsman.
    I did a small watercolour scene in Glasgow as the sun set over it.
    Cheers
    Charlie

    You're right about how the atmosphere surrounding industrial spaces on certain days can make for a beautiful, mysterious and moody picture. Your recall seems spot on, and the resulting painting is very lovely.

    That was right up my street. I often struggle to find a subject, but I'll have a go at this. Inspirational

      Finding good subjects is a common problem for many people. If you try to think outside the box and take another look at subjects that you might otherwise never consider, its surprising just how inspiration this can be... and you might surprise yourself. Thank you for the comment Paul - I'm pleased this was 'right up your street'...

    Thank you! I live near San Francisco and I'm surrounded by industrial scenery. We have a lot of fog also so this video is also prefect to paint fog. The golden state in fog for example. 👌🏼

    4:04 did you add white paint to the tissue or is it only tissue without paint and your just absorbing the colour?

    • @peterwoolleyartist
      @peterwoolleyartist  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Luchia - No white paint... it's all just lifting out with the tissue, so - yes - absorbing the moisture and colour.

    This is great. Thank you. What kind of paper is that? looks sturdy

  • @lsmak1085
    @lsmak1085 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great demo! Guessed the paper must be at least 300-gsm or above for the techniques to work, right?

    • @peterwoolleyartist
      @peterwoolleyartist  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      karen wong Hi Karen. The paper is 200lbs Saunders Waterford Rough, although it work just as well on a lighter paper. I would recommend never using anything lighter than 140lb (300gsm).
