I met Davy in Charlotte in 1992. He was so nice and friendly. Even though Bill Elliott was my favorite, if something knocked him out of being able to win, I cheered Davy on! Thank you so much for a great video!
Davey was my favorite driver. I was devastated when he passed away. When his uncle drove Davey's car to Garth Brooks "The Dance" I literally bawled! I was so heartbroken! 💔 I had no idea who I was going to root for after Davey's passing until a rookie named Tony Stewart came along. I watched him thinking he had some driving characteristics of Davey and Tony also won three races his rookie years like Davey did. Then one of the announcers made a comment and compared Tony to Davey and I yelled I knew it! From that point on Tony was the driver I rooted and supported him regardless of his bad boy reputation. A lot of people didn't like him but he sure as hell could drive a race car and win races and three championships! But my heart remains with Davey. Anytime his name is mentioned, I go back and rethink his accident and it still saddens me. I can't help but feel emotional. He was on his way to his first championship. He was just getting started. My heart went out to the Allison family especially his young wife and their two babies. It definitely was a sad time for sure. 😢💔

I’m from Dave’s home state Sweet Home Alabama! He was my fav too!! I was told that I looked like him when I was younger, I watched him race at Talladega, the place where his life was taken!!! He was special & would have been a champion he was really a nice guy! I also pulled for Smoke 💨 he was cut from same cloth as Dave’s but I favor Davey he was a home state boy a Bama Boy
Last year I bought a 1993 ford thunderbird, Davy Allison edition. Only 6K miles on it. Has the 5.0 HO engine. Bobby Allison, his father signed the dashboard. Also, came with some collectible merch in the trunk. I’d sell it for the right price. It’s definitely a time capsule. A almost new 31 year old car.
I live in Talladega, we were always Bobby and Donnie Allison fans so it was only natural that we followed Davey from the start also … my Dad was working at the Talladega Superspeedway and witnessed Daveys helicopter crash. He didn’t know who it was at the time but did shortly recognize Red Farmer as he was removed from the crash. The Race at Talladega was only weeks after Daveys passing… Man that was a sad day ✝️🇺🇸
I had the pleasure to be able to have his last interview in NH, just a couple of days before his crash. I have a photograph of that interview and one with David Pearson, the only two on my wall in my office. Two of my favorite drivers.
Thanks for the great 👍 clip with Davey, we lost him to soon. He was the next best thing for Nascar an a possible Champion 🏆 an he's still missed today. Thanks for the great clip on this one 🎉🎉🎉😊
I remember watching Davey race on tv. A couple years older than Davey. He would have turned 63 this year (2024). He was so young, 32, gone 31 years. I really enjoyed that bright smile. and what a racer. I felt some comfort knowing he was in his uniform when he was laid to rest. His organs donated to extend others lives. His parents had lost their sons within a year, divorced, but when Adam Petty died, they came together and re- married. RIP peace Davey and Clifford Allison.
Davey and Robert Yates Racing is the reason I follow the Cup Series and NASCAR in general. My 13 year old self took it hard but hid my emotions searching for a solution to go forward over it.
He was my very first "real favorite" driver that wasn't already everyone else's at the time. Such a great guy and driver that could've had a great career!
I loved Dale Earnhardt and I think it’s so sad even his children can’t visit his resting place. He had so many die hearted fans I was one. May he R.I.P and Davey Allison.
Davey was my favorite from day one with his aggressive but never reckless driving style. I am a Chevy man, but always cheered on his Ford, RIP Young man.
my brother herman smith races against davey,at mobile ,pensacola ,and birmiham, in the nascar grand american circit.. my brother got 2nd in points,2 years in a row, davey was well talked about and was a excellent racer along with another races mike alexander..i still like nascar today talledega one of my favorites.this for the video. also i would like to mention the allision family one time we needed a tire bobby was morethan glade to load a tire that night..as for mike alexander he hit the wall at telldega and also head injuryes took his life..
A friend of mine his aunt and uncle bought Davies house years after he passed away he took me to see it it was such a beautiful place Davie was the real deal gone way to soon
Davey was such a a natural. You could see it on the track. Great guy with a infectious smile, very very likeable. IMO, there would of been a lot of disappointed GM drivers and many fewer GM NASCAR championships if Davey had lived.
I was a die-hard NASCAR fan up until a few years ago, rules changes and whatnot. I live an hour from Texas Motor Speedway and would go to races there from 2000-2019, and again in '21. I happen to be wearing Davey's gear today, doing a throwback NASCAR week. I was 11 when he died, and he and Alan happened to be my 2 favorites, needless to say, '93 was a rough year for me. I was an avid Kenseth fan for close to 20 years, now I like Truex and, I'm an avid dirt fan, all my other favorites are dirt guys (Bell, Larson, Reddick, and Briscoe)
I'm late to watching NASCAR but remember some of these names. I like Joey Logano. And I believe Davy Allison's dad was treated by my nurse friend at Lehigh Valley Hospital when he was injured at Pocono Speedway. That I do remember from my hometown. Thanks for these great videos!! ❤️😊
A video on Alan Kulwicki would be great. Glen Wood and his brothers, Maurice Petty and maybe Jimmy Pardue. Jimmy was a lesser known guy due to his short career but was extremely fast and competitive while on the circuit. Joe Weatherly, Charlie Glotzbach, Bud and Greg Moore, Cale Yarborough, Lee Roy Yarbrough, and Tiny Lund would be great subjects also. Great channel, I really enjoy it. Sam Ard, Jack Ingram, and Butch Lindley and so many other racing heroes gone but not forgotten too.
My favorite driver is the late great Dale Earnhardt and his son still alive Dale Jr and Jeff Gordon. The driver I can't stand is Tony Stewart and Baba Walace. I don't watch nascar anymore. It hasnt been the same since Dale sr died.😢
My favorite driver was Dale Jarrett. Have all his 1/24 die cast along with the UPS truck and boat.,, I won’t say who I don’t like to keep the peace!!😆. Great video!!
Side note: in '09, I went to Homestead for the Championship weekend (race was actually ON my birthday that year) and my first night there, the Hard Rock had a lot of current and former drivers, and I got a picture with Bobby Allison after he signed a photo for me. Also got to meet Ned and Dale Jarrett, Bill Elliott, Kyle Petty, Bobby Labonte, among others. Bobby was a total class act.
Hi, I'm new to your channel. I like your videos, so respectful and informative. I really liked Dabey alot. I've always been a huge fan of Dale Jr & was honored to have met him ,actually he bump & runned me riding go carts at Cedar Point years ago. My absolute LEAST favorite driver is by far Kyle Busch. I find him arrogant, dirty & a sore loser. I also am sick of Joey L. Too. God bless and thank you for what you do
I must of come from a parallel universe. I don't remember Davey dieing. Thought he was still alive. Or maybe I'm going senile. I used to watch all the races all the way up to when they ruined NASCAR with all the rule changes. I don't remember him dieing. Strange. Just strange.
Gosh, I hate it when TH-camrs copy from other content originators. Your video on Jerry Lee Lewis was already done by Scott on Tape a while back. And your "Parade of Statues" location and story was already covered by Faces of the Forgotten channel over 2 years ago. They even had a fundraiser and helped the community there rebuild in the damage aftermath from the storm. I see you are also copying his drone work too, Come on man, so lame to mimic others. Can't you find and originate your own content?
Not that this is related to this video but I often think what could have been with Tim Richmond. He signed on with Rick Hendrick and if he had not had AIDS, he would have been an absolute monster.

I picked up Jeff Gordon after Daveys passing, it was a bitter sweet choice, but worked out really well in the end
@@rtbell2806 Davey was gonna be a champion that would’ve represented the sport very well! I picked up Dale Jarrett!! He drove for Robert Yates Racing
I was a Davey fan and after his death I pulled for anybody driving the 28. I live so close I had to pull for the hometown guy
@@toddfulbright3901 where r u from my friend? I’m from Blount County Al but live in Jasper Al

As a kid hearing this I was so upset. He seemed such a sweet guy. RIP Davey.

I fully remember this sad day. I live down the road from Talladega .
Davey and Robert Yates Racing is the reason I follow the Cup Series and NASCAR in general. My 13 year old self took it hard but hid my emotions searching for a solution to go forward over it.
Very cool nascar history miss the old Yates days thank you for the video🏁🏁
He was my very first "real favorite" driver that wasn't already everyone else's at the time. Such a great guy and driver that could've had a great career!
He was a great guy and race car driver I love the Alabama gang Davey,Bobby,Donnie, Red and Neil you should show us Neil's grave too sometime
My father and I stood on the side of the road as his casket drove down the road. I was 10 years old and remember it like it was yesterday.
Dale Earnhart Sr. fan here. My heart is still broken. Love all your videos! Thanks for doing this and posting them.

I was a Rusty Wallace fan. Davy was a heck of a driver. I agree what could it have been.
Davey was my driver for years. I was racing that day Davey passed away.
I was a die-hard NASCAR fan up until a few years ago, rules changes and whatnot. I live an hour from Texas Motor Speedway and would go to races there from 2000-2019, and again in '21. My all time favorite driver. The 80’s thru the 90’s were the best times of nascar for me.

If Davey doesn’t pass Big E never wins 7 championships and Johnson doesn’t even come close
Davey would have won a lot of championships if he didn't get killed.
Mark Martin is my all time favorite. Couldn't stand Tony Stewart
Harry Gant and Dale Jr.
The rotor blade made Davey gravy out of him.
Jeff Gordon
