the steering wheel on ole blue reminds me of the steering wheel on my grand fathers 1973 Plymouth GRAND FURY 3 I still remember that big boat from the 70s lol great vidjas Mr
I drag a hog wire fence with concrete blocks on it behind my ATV to knock down fire ant and crawfish mounds before I mow. My neighbor saw it & now he does it too. Really saves your blades!
6:54 you can also chuck a price of copper in the trough and it will keep it clean too, we have white steel baths and only clean every now and again to remove dirt
Great seeing Winfield drag harrow do so very well behind Ford tractor, Josh well done you ! Great job getting it starting & running so very well Old Blue rocks rock driveway Woo Hoo
Your German Shepard is ALL IN, with Regenerative farming! haha (eating piles) That's really fascinating, really. It looks like the clutter just falls out of that rake. We used to just use an old Cyclone fence section! ha! But I'm about as old -10, 15 years, as that Tractor you're driving! WOooo! Thanks for the shots! chow.
Oh man....be sure you get one that has a frame like this....talk to my buddy Chris at Wingfield American Harrow.. you can actually get a real person to talk to ya!! MADE IN THE USA!!!!!! He's great! There's a link to his site...he doesn't pay me anything to tell ya....ask him if you can get a Stoney Ridge discount! He might just hook ya up!
You know-there is an after market kit out for those Ford tractors you an add that will give you a gas pedal down at your right foot-so you don't have to keep playing w/ the hand throttle. Really handy on the one I used years ago. Drive it just like a car-
If you rent and use a vibratory smooth roller over the gravel to compact it you'll have good and long lasting results. Best to do it when the base is wet from recent rains. When the gravel and fines are compacted it helps it shed rain water.
man.....gravel around here just disapears.....I have seen folks using vibratory rollers on their driveways around here, but the issue is that we basically pack the gravel with heavy trucks all summer long..so it's tight for sure. You'd be hard pressed to find a guy more obsessed with keeping up his driveway than me lol....I just love to make it look nice!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer wow. Had a spot about 60' long on a gravel lane by one of my barns that had the disappearing gravel problem. Ended up hauling in 80 ton of stone and walking it in with a D-6 before I found a bottom in that area. No problems since.
Got a 6'x8' industrial heavy chain link gate, for scrap price, does almost as good. Plus I flip it over, fabric on top, put tarp or plywood over it ,makes great sled for heavy, bulky items, don't have to lift too high. Nice job 👍
well....my brotha....Having the right tool for the job instead of a bunch of old junk laying around has it's perks too. Back in the day I didn't have a drag.....I took the Gator and pulled a pallet with buckets screwed to the top of it full of rocks lol....tha'ts how I smoothed my entire yard! Crazy huh!
I can't say I am sold on this for the leaves. Looks like it chops up a lot and mixes it in with the gravel, making it to sit, mixed in with gravel, to become food for the weeds come spring. I think the just need to be blown off first then dress the road. Fr the pasture, it's fr sure a great turd buster.
if the ground were dry and the leaves were you could see better results....I'll bet we pulled 3 pickup truck loads of leaves off the road in this vid....was tough to show it though
Somebody has been watching VGG and Jimmy’s world. I’ve noticed a few catch phrases in the videos recently. It’s interesting to know we share similar tastes in videos.
Yes I’ve all but stopped watching regular tv. I’ll occasionally watch Netflix or Amazon. I imagine you could get some good ideas from other TH-cam channels. I enjoy watching your content. Keep up the great work and Merry Christmas!
Oh....I watch a few folks, but try to remain as original as I can....so not much. I try not to jump on the "hype" that other's are jumping on too....how many youtubers running around profiting from the tragedy here in NC...turns my stomach to watch them sometimes
Hey Josh I wanted an update from a few videos back you mentioned that that your taxes when up on your property or something and you said you called county and told them that you want your road graveled I’m wondering if they came love this video ❤
yep...they came the next day! I'm not sure if they're watching me or what, but I'd say this road is one of the most high profile gravel roads in the state...so they're on it quick....sometimes I wish they would pave it but other times I just want folks to stay away so the gravel is nice lol....won't be driving a ferari out the gate so I guess we're good with gravel for now
Never ending work to do there Josh!! When do you do your nursing job, if you still are a practicing nurse?? Love that old Ford Tractor!! Happy holiday J man!!
I've been on the farm/content creation for about 4-5 years now. Non longer working in the hospital...thank goodness....I don't think I could handle the politics!
the 1973 Plymouth GRAND FURY 3 had blinkers on the front fenders near the head lights that were real chrome and they stuck up an inch and were 3 inches long. Josh you are a 1973 model or there abouts right? Rick Cooperstown NY I'm a 1967 model
I find that a land plane is great for leveling gravel....however a driveway should be crowned so water sheds off it...in my opinion a land plane makes it look nice...then makes a driveway like mine into a river every time it rains. Keeping the driveway crowned is imperative
nope...sorry...remember...she's not a person, she's a part of the herd. Put 1 donkey in the herd and it protects the calves....2 donkeys and they break off from the herd and actually will hurt the calves...or even kill them. I had 2 and they became violent
he's not a "poor dog" he's a good dog. He likes to run and isn't a couch dog like we have in suburbia....farm dog...and there aint' nowhere on a tractor for a dog his size lol
have you gotten any good at repairing drones yet? I had to repair mine when it decided to land the fall out of a tree the hit the pavement and break the mid frame. Luckily store demo units are cheap on ebay with oem parts, just no electronics.
I have not seen any of the close to 200 newer tractors I have owned come anywhere close to the old fords and especially old masseys when it comes to fine grading. The 3 pt controls are just not as easy to move in super small increments in dirt or gravel. I would never get rid of that Ford.
As scatter brained as I am if I started vehicles to warm up and took off I'd come back to a charged battery and no fuel!😂
I'm also in that group. I'm a one man operation, l have one battery for my non-everyday tractors with quick disconnect battery terminals
ooh...now that's not good. I have accidentally left a truck running all night before!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Those little jump start boxes must've had a farmer in mind, very handy. Take care
I have not seen cattle not eat grass under a electric fence ? , but why not move it over a bit when you drag the fields 🤔
why does it matter brother? We do move the fences from time to time, but they'll graze right up under them....they won't eat that broom straw though
Your dog just wants to be with you, where ever you are and smart and well behaved.
The old Ford tractors was unbeatable. Hands down. They could take more abuse than most. 💯 Hands down.

Working those land mines !
I like it. And that tractor. I'm looking to buy a older tractor.

We use a 8 ft drag harrow on our pastures and driveway. Works very nice
Your farm has really grown since I last watched. It looks nice around there!

Great ole Ford tractor. Wish there was a new one just like for sale.
Same way, I'm scraping my driveway pads with Summer work gloves on, hands freezing. Minnesota Winter denial, it's not just a river in Egypt!
Thank you very much for the video sor

Hey Josh thank you for the video woo
Cool video...also saw some Honda Elements parked on your property. Just picked up one of those myself - tough and useful little cars.
man...I love them! I have 4 of them....a couple for parts and a couple that I drive
Josh you buddy make a great 👍 duo awesome job and video 😮😊❤
Buddy needs to be training the next generation, and that will help keep him young a little longer.
I agree!
Great video today

For maintaining a gravel driveway. Is a drag harrow a substitute for a land plane?

I sometimes think “old” farm equipment could be referring to us guys approaching 50 years old. Love the old tractors.
You got that right! We're getting old, but that's okay!

@ okay. As long as she is happy. Interesting animal behaviour.
Boy just think of all the money I spent on implements on the driveway and all I need is drag Harrah. Wow to late now.

be careful can cause disease in your dog....histoplasmosis
