Okay, murder is worse, but imagine leaving that scene for children to find. Wicked on wicked.
hi
Murder and the discovery of the body is not kind to us, regardless of our age.
No child should ever have to experience what these children experienced
Yet they do on a daily basis
Those poor children had to be very, very traumatized.
I wonder how her children faired all these years later? What a horrific horrific thing happened to them, seeing their mother like that that day. Unfathomable
I'd say the killer was of sound, calculating mind when committing this awful crime. The fact that money and other purse items were missing, Scanlon's comments to colleagues, his grip of cash at pub that night, his propensity for violence against women...
With so many suspects, it seems ripe for solving.
What a horrific tragedy for this family. I cannot imagine the horror this young mother of 5 must have gone through as she realized she was going to die, with her baby in the next room. Nor can I begin to comprehend the lasting trauma her children, who found their mother murdered in such a heinous way, have endured throughout their lives. It is frustrating to know that this is still a cold case. Perhaps all of the forensic procedures and sciences that have developed since this murder will now play a part in solving this crime. May her dear soul be resting in peace, knowing the effort to find the monster who did this to her is still ongoing. 🙏
I worked at Head Quarters Support Command (HQSC) Victoria Barracks in Melbourne, when this horrendous murder occurred. HQSC employed many personnel in several buildings in St Kilda road. I remember vividly when one or two witnesses were brought into our building with detectives when all servicemen were required to put on their hats and the witness was required to scrutinised every serviceman to rule them out as suspects. It was surreal being so 'closely involved' in such an horrendous crime. Over the years I've often thought of Mary-Anne and whether advancements in DNA and genealogy DNA could expose the perpetrator. Jenni QLD Australia.
I was thinking the same thing, running the DNA with the latest technology.
Heartbreaking. Im a mom, I'm sure as her life was being viciously taken from her she only thought of her 5 children. No one being charged only leaves the children with loss and anger.
Rest in Peace mom 🌷
And she had to really worry about her baby’s safety.
RIP, Mary-Anne 😢💔
I can't imagine how hard this was for jer kid's to see. I hope they are all doing okay now ❤
I find it hard to believe that a crime of such brutality didn't cause the killers DNA to be left at the scene. .... Wasn't there also a cigarette end at the scene thought to be left by the killer?
It makes me think that either the police know more than they're letting on, _or_ the crime scene forensics have been botched, contaminated, or lost.
The worst part is children finding their mother's dead body 😢😢😢😢
There's no doubt in my mind that the perpetrator knew exactly what they were doing when they commited the murder they aways do and the mental illness line is simply a cop out to escape responsibility for their actions
The murderer hasn't claimed mental illness. They've not made any claims at all. The cops did.
How absolutely horrible!!!
Thank you for covering Australian crimes.
I have a suspicion is that worker did it…if i remember correctly, none of them mentioned to witness any uniform man entering the residence…🤷♀️
Oh, dear! What an absolutely troubling crime.
I almost thought this was the little girl killed by Leo Frank. I hope Mary Anne's murder is solved soon. It's heartbreaking that her babies found her body.
I believe it was later found that Leo Frank did not commit that crime.
If you do your research, you'll find that the other suspect in the crime confessed to it on his deathbed. Leo Frank did not kill anybody.
If you did your research, you'd find out that the other suspect in the crime confessed to the murder on his deathbed. Leo Frank did not kill Mary Fagan. As far as we know, he never killed anyone.
Literally stopped the new video I was in the middle of when I saw you'd posted💯
Thanks for this story.
To be stabbed in a frenzy makes the murder personal. I am sure she knew her killer and the RAAF guy seen nearby is who I think was involved.
I'm not sure if the number of wounds can be reliably used to determine anything, about the attackers mental or emotional state, beyond their intention to end the victim's life or not.
Multiple "frenzied" wounds are commonly thought to be the result of personal anger with the victim, though that clearly isn't always the case. .... And while a knife may just be a weapon of convenience, especially in a home (almost all kitchens contain a knife suitable for stabbing), a knife attack is also often associated with a very personal attack. ... You have to get up-close with the victim, and covered in blood, if you're going to stab someone.
Regardless of mental illness, either life in jail or life in an asylum
I feel bad for her children I hope they were able to live a good life it must have been a horrible and traumatic experience to find their Mother dead in that horrific way.
Indeed! I also feel bad for her husband, knowing that his wife lost her life in such a terrible way and never getting justice for it. He had a big responsibility in raising those children alone as well 😢
How HORRIFIC!! Those poor babies!! I truly hope they are alright today. 😢❤❤❤
The missing handbag (as opposed to just emptying it of valuables), sparing the baby and lack of sexual assault makes me wonder if the perpetrator could be a woman?
I also wonder if Mary-Anne was nude due to being in the process of dying her hair - I don't dye my own but when I've had other female friends/family members do it, they're often just wearing a towel to avoid staining clothes and so they can just jump in the shower to rinse afterwards. I wonder if this was a known habit of Mary-Anne's?
If this is the case and said towel was never found, it may have been used to bundle the stolen items together and/or wipe and conceal the murder weapon.
Once again, those poor kids! That poor little angel crying alone in his cot. Heartbreaking. That construction crew being at both murders is just too coincidental to me. If one of them REALLY didn't do these awful things then it seems unbelievable to me that not a one heard or saw ANYTHING. Especially since one of them HAD been talking to her about her complaint. RIP Mum. I hope her loved ones are doing as well as they can. Thank you DC🙏🏼💔🕊️🦌🪽
I wanna hear more about the falling tree.
I would imagine if any of the ‘road crew’ were involved, some physical evidence would have been left behind. Remember, that type of work is very dirty. Hence, dirty clothes, shoes and body. No mention of the ‘perpetrator(s)’ cleaning up the crime scene. Time for some of the evidence to be released to the public. After all, holding back so far, hasn’t helped.
Especially dirty, if she complained about water and debris. Imagine dirty/wet boot prints everywhere, inside or outside the house!
Also, would be hard to keep workmates noticing your absence then returning in a bloody state. Surely one would have talked by now if that was the case?
I agree it’s unlikely to be one of the workmen, too many clues would have been left behind, I’m in my sixties and live in Melbourne, when this happened the newspapers and on TV news were full of it, Mary Anne wasn’t sexually assaulted so could it have been a woman ? why was the gate left open ? I think the police know that someone is holding back on info but now that person is in their twilight years they’re hoping they’ll talk, such a heartbreaking tragedy, why do that to a decent human being, hope we get answers one day
@@cindyshirreffs2099 - Precisely!
@@cindyshirreffs2099 - Yes! They would’ve had to cover their arses, too.
I love your channel! ❤❤
Excellent if not very sad presentation. For the record: POM pah no. And bow kah rah TAHN..
I hate unsolved cases 😡
Thank you DC🙏🏼💔🕊️🦌
I had never heard of this case before. It's so sad and tragic.. I hope the police can solve this case to bring closure for Mary Anne's children and grand kids . Somebody must know something and I'm sure there was DNA left at the scene by her killer or murderers that can be traced including familial. RIP Mary Anne.
I don’t believe I’ve heard of this case before.it happened before I was born.those poor kids having to deal with finding their Mother like that.
Her disappearance!?!?! She was murdered!
"We're actively seeking witnesses who may have seen anyone covered in blood in the vicinity between 11am and 4pm"
"Awww bruh, i didn't see my bloody human in that vicinity til after 5pm. Must be some other killer."
They did it they killed her got mad she argued with them
it could ha w been solved with more effort. like it seems obvious it was one or some of theose road worker pigs. like how much more crime mirroring did they need geeeez
My dad was a Group Captain in the RAAF too …
I think it was someone she knew and trusted she let him in no problems???the family know 😢
RAAF is pronounced R, double- A, F.
I wouldn't have watched had I known it was unsolved. I absolutely hate not knowing, and the only thing I do know is that the killers escaped justice. Possibly the best part of true crime is the bastard killers getting caught.
That’s perfectly understandable and I’ve often felt the same way. That said, it’s important to remember that these stories are more than just a means of conveyance for our daily dose of catharsis. We can’t reduce the lives of these victims to just feel-good hits of righteous comeuppance. The lives of unsolved murder victims are just as worthy of being shared and remembered as those who’ve ultimately found some modicum of justice and resolution.
Thank you. I also prefer solved cases. So many unsolved are heartbreaking and the idea there has been no justice for the victims makes it worse.
Dark Curiosities used to do only solved cases which is why I subscribed. Now I usually wait for a solved case to listen to.
Actually, DC has made her name bringing unsolved crimes up for fresh eyes. Some of her subjects have actually had their cases solved afterward but we're never made aware if this site has made a difference. I don't think she'd take the credit if she knew.
@@waynepolo6193 Well and truly said Sir. I admire your brief script. Peace and goodwill.
No dna on the cigarette butt...? 🤔
What about the husband? Her tomb stone to me was off. All About her husband and not about her as much.
First time seeing your video, to be honest with you nice video if I need to give you a score, from 1 to 10
