-My dad was the supply officer for the F-14 Dev Squadron at Miramar back in 1991-92. I LOVED the Bombcat , and the B(one) when I was a kid. One of my favorite possessions is a photograph of 2 F1-4Ds flying in formation with a B-1B that my dad got when he changed duty stations. Some of the visuals in this video look very much like that photo

Star destroyers and comically-undersized Death Stars are so hilariously out-of-place in DCS. I love it.
The Death Star is nearly 1/2 the size of the entire nation of Qatar, 160km vs 349km.
Thinking Cap was being sarcastic about it being the right size, definitely the right size.
Cap...if I don't get a dose of the new USN Aegis in a cool battle, I may go crazy. I want to see crazy missile volleys from VLS making big boom-booms. You have me in the palm of your hand.
F16 - Maverick missiles for the ground targets

If you're fighting the Empire it'd be nice to see some Robotech skins on the Tomcats lol.

The deaths target had over 7000 ties. The tie had a air speed over 1200 kph

Could have been interesting if that was a full sized (DS 2 had an approx 200Km diameter) Death Star with thousands of its own TIE's on board, the Star Destroyer has a compliment of 72 all by itself!

A thought with the B-21R as far as the usefulness of it having AAMs. It would be niche but wouldn't it make for a very powerful interceptor? Since it seems to be faster than most (if not all? fighters currently in USAF), can carry a lot of missiles, seems likely to be able to carry an AESA radar with a very large surface area (more TI modules means more power), could potentially carry pretty potent jamming equipment (plus a very big AESA could be used for jamming) AND has a lot of fuel/range I think it would be a GREAT interceptor against bombers or 4th gen fighters. Maybe the one drawback would be how quick it can scramble? Another potential benefit of the huge airframe is that it could mount a defensive (or even offensive?) Directed Energy Weapon potentially, helping its survivability. I mean, eventually get a DEW, when one potent enough plus small enough becomes operational.
That was the point of the B-1R, faster than a B-1B (at the cost of reduced range) with a metric fuckton of AMRAAMs

Should have had a defined ground force component. A battalion of M1A1 Abrams or Challenger IIs should have been useful against the Empire's ground forces and the shield generators and even the laser stations. It would take one heck of a laser burn to get through the armour of even a C20 MBT.
Good thing they don't use lasers then. Blaster cannons fire plasma energy held together by a rapidly deteriorating magnetic field. When it hits a target all the energy is released into it. Turbolasers like the death star and the large turrets and ships mount are basically this technology on steroids. A single turbolaser bolt, with enough power production and capacitors such as a star destroyer would have, can destroy multiple city blocks in the slowest fire mode (like one shot a minute).
Sounds to me that Cap has got some classic movie watching to do.

Tie Fighters are referred to as Eyeballs by New Republic in slang. Interceptors are squints. Bombers are dupes.

The Empire did nothing wrong. The Jedi toddlers from families with no compensation, denied them families of their own, worship the Jedi Council only. The Sith were recruited later in life and were given a choice to join their order and allowed personal freedom and latitude. It will be interesting to see how Keanu Reeves plays the Sith Leader in the upcoming movie he's already agreed to join.

It was pronounced originally as "att-att", rhyming with "hat-hat". In the 80s nobody would ever have called an Imperial walker an "ay tee ess tee". This pronunciation was the official one, coming from Lucasfilm and from Kenner advertisements (you can watch them on TH-cam).

Best idea for fast-graphics, ever. 3D scan them in, then break the pivoting bits apart in a wireframe modeler, and you got the basics covered.

Hey Cap, I would love an episode where one or more of the real pilots of GR’s either talk about their flying careers, leaving out any personal identifiable information, just broad terms. For some reason . Id love you see you re make the firing line of jets from the movie independence day . have crew line up in air and then all launch , then all try bank out of the way of the shields that didnt go down. I just really like when the crew formation flies into a FUBAR situation . Like the calm before the storm .
