Most often melee weapons are coded in a way that they hit for lets say 15 ticks in an attack that is lets say 40 frames in a sideways sweep. So in essence, in those 40 frames, there is a sweeping arc of 15 straight lines that extend from your character. Turning 180 degrees spreads those 15 lines further apart, giving the illusion of having a wider sweep, but in reality, you are leaving bigger gaps that have no registration in your swing. I’m not 100% sure V2 does it like this, but the ones I know of do.

i've been playing legend and cat with full red for over 2 years.. salts is the only character i play.. rapier is the only melee weapon i use.. *i am only now learning about the fact that i can shoot the pistol*
i will say, one of my favorite weapons to use with Victor is actually the hatchets. they penetrate armor, break shields, and overall have some pretty good damage. even with light attacks. its satisfying to cut through a regiment of shield units or to wail on a rothelm. so if ya want a break from the rapier pistol combo, try out the axe/hatchet. might not be the best objectively but it is satisfying and low effort fun.
Flaming sword is great, but its only good for Battle Wizard (it sucks for Pyro & Unchained). It doesn't stagger everything btw, it doesnt stagger Chaos Warriors, Berserkers & Plague monks. Bretonnian sword might be best for Mercenary, but its not for Huntsman, Grail Knight and arguably Footknight. Coghammer is great on Slayer, but its not the best for Engineer (he is squishy enough already, he needs mobility or shield), Ranger Vet and arguably Ironbreaker. Rapier is best for Bounty Hunter, but it sucks for Zealot and for WHC arguably Billhook is better. Sword & dagger yeah, its probably the best overall for all kerilian classes, though there is a great competition depending on build. Best melee weapon per career: Pyro - dagger Unchained - flaming flail Huntsman - spear or spear & shield Grail Knight - mace & sword + executionary sword or shield & mace Ranger Vet - dual hammers Ironbreaker - shield & mace or shield & axe Zealot & WHC - billhook
All great options for sure. One thing though Firesword def can stagger all those units I stagger Bezerkers out of attacks with it in the video. Just need Opportunist for the Trait
Personally a long standing favorite weapon of mine is kruber's hammer for mercenary. Extremely satisfying heavy attacks that make you feel like you are sweeping the floor, lights which just let you beat the shit out if something like a stormvermin, plenty of stagger to keep things too dazed to do too much fighting back, and of course combined with his passive abilities it can just cut swarms down (especially when given the "swift slaying" trait and some attack speed). I usually either pair it with the blunderbuss or the handgun, and i always take the talent that boosts his stacks on his passive but needs you to hit more enemies per swing. Very fun.
Unchained flail and you can not die. Stagger everything with aoe h1 then sweep anyone else to cover your flanks w h2. Rinse and repeat and you will be true soloing cata in no time
Yeah, just make sure you grab the correct "heal on stagger" talent in the first row. Plus it ignores shields, it's faster than Saltzpyre's flail, the damage on it slaps. Yeah, it doesn't have the infinite cleave that the burning sword has, but you're anyway immortal in a horde. Get one with crit chance on it and the "crits give you attack speed" trait and just walk inside a horde, hold down block, push, h1 h2 and boom. But against armored enemies and elites? It's still amazing, whereas with flaming sword you'd be better off swapping to a staff. And the only good staves are Bolt and Coruscation.

It works really Well but i am using the Second Talent in the First row that gives me health on hitting multiple enemys... I tried both and it seemed Like it heals me more... Should i switch that? Is the stagger one really that much better? (For Legend) bc Like i Said i am pretty new so i cant Go into the Higher difficultys yet
@@juxi1718 the hit 5 is just an neft version of stagger heal one, also unchained is more melee focus so temp hp with flail is weird bc u pretty much one or 2 shot an enemy with high heat anyway so if u want thp fast just spam light than elite spam heavy

But they will be entirely useless in a situation where you fight a big enemy, and they will be outdone in a horde where you might be able to hit more than five enemies, like if you have the flaming sword heavy attack 1, that could stagger 20 ratlings in one swipe. But it's one of those talents where the way you play matters just as much as the weapon you're using. If we the way you play you get more HP with the hit5 one, and you manage to beat legend runs? Then awesome, keep at it! No need to swap just because a different one is 10% more effective
The Rapier is probably objectively the best weapon in the game. As it brings everything. Infinite cleave, good range, double charge heavy attacks, double the normal effective dodge, 25% dodge bonus, half stamina cost on pushing. That weapon just has everything. Sword and Dagger is probably just second to it. With my favorite weapon the BLS being in third place. But I completely understand why you put that weapon in first place.

@@covahredro8370 It just takes a lot of practice, it will feel very clunky at first but it has amazing dps against pretty much everything, on top of being pretty safe once you get used to the attack patterns. It also has exceptional synergy with WHC and even zealot to some degree
Darktide is almost here but I really hope that Vermintide 2 would add way more maps that we could play without having to pay for if they want to keep some cosmetic as a payment option that's okay with me at least .. but I would like to see a prestige system where we could reset characters have something like "legend" abilities and become even more powerful.. Also a new class would be more than welcome :) I'm kinda new to the game but almost already finished all the maps
now you just gotta learn tomes, grimoires, the dance of battle and start going up in difficulty until you can clear legend :) and let's not forget about farming gear, gotta reach that 300 ilvl and the red rarity

I JUST started trying Sienna (pyromancer) , I knew it was sexy but I wasn't sure on the mechanics. Time to grab a hunter and test it at 60% crit chance ish.
All this and you don't mention the spear and shield for Kruber - You can push yourself forward quicker by holding the heavy attack - It has amazing sweeps for normal light attacks, can decimate loads of normal skaven, beastmen and chaos cultists - When charged up it can get through stormvermin with two strong hits to them (unless they block it with a shield) - It's amazing against monsters as with shorter weapons you have to get in close after their attack chain to get a hit in, with the spear you can hit them from a slightly safer distance away and with the shield you have much more defense - You can block bullets with it (as shields in the game are a must-have for higher difficulty playthroughs, whether it be the skittergate or whatever, especially if you are planning on doing it solo or don't have your bots as good support classes or your team decides to go rogue and get butchered quickly)
@@fynii9478 it's a popular choice as a pocket weapon for grail knight since it's a shield and has ridiculous stagger potential + a good bash attack. Often paired with the Bret longsword since the longsword covers almost everything else except for blocking bullets and warpfire

alongside opportunist for the fire sword, if you can get a warrior priest to take the prayer of might talent (gives everyone more stagger) the stagger will be astronomical and you can just stunlock everything
can you please tell me the amount of "view" you have in the videos you put as an example? When I play I feel a little bit dizzy because of the camera, or the "pov" idk how to tell you, the scale of the camera I use it around 80-90 but it isn't the best for me, and the videos that you put in here feels very comfortable to plays and watch can you please help me with that? :D keep up the great vids
New player that played too much over the week, and I pretty much like the list as well. Tho I always main Battle Princess and has gravitated towards Shield and Flail, it's not really super fun. It's effective, has everything except the wet slicing sounds blades make, but it's too effective and no non-sense. I always look for time to use these other weapons (except Fire sword, haven't worked on Sienna yet) and only bring out Battle Princess when I need my game face on and the lobby is heavy. BLS being top is defo righteous tho. I don't think I even pull out any other weapons when using Grail, just BLS and forget I even have a second melee.
Just picked up the game and I've been having so much fun with the BLS, glad my taste in murder is good. Also, how do you force attacks? Never used a push attack in my life, was just kinda spamming heavy light heavy light
Each weapon is different but the dummies out in the yard are your best bet for learning. BLS you can force the downward strikes by push attack > heavy attack > light attack > repeat. Quicker you can learn to not just spam the faster you will improve. That being said many good weapons you can spam all day!
Sword and dagger definitely needs a good hit with the nerf bat. It does everything well, almost to the degree where you are actively gimping yourself by not taking it. Easily Kerillian's best weapon - and knowing how good all her other weapons are, the depth of that statement is vast.
That's honestly why I as a Kerillian main almost never use it, its so good is boring lol. I use daggers on Shade, greatsword on Handmaiden, dual swords on Sister, and usually glaive or 1hand sword for Waystalker.

LOL thanks man. Yeah Heavy 1 or light 2 simply refer to the attack with reference to it's chronological position in the chain. So the first strike in a heavy chain is heavy H1, second is H2 and so on.
@@joshuathompson2093 Something to be aware of when moving to higher difficulties is being efficient with your attacks. Each attack in the chain (mostly) have different modifiers. One might cleave while another might have no cleave but good armor piecing while the next might do neither. Therefore knowing which attacks in the chain do what and how to proc them on command is important lest you be wasting clicks. All chains can be manipulated by combining heavies, lights, block cancels and push attacks in varying orders. For instance I talk about a BLS combo. Heavy 3, light 3 and push attack on BLS all do great single target/armour damage but we don't want to run through the whole chain to get them out or just spam so we need a way reliably proc them. So in this particular instance we can go push attack into a heavy which will proc H3 follow that with a light and it will proc L3 then repeat. So, push attack to initiate the chain then heavy, light, heavy, light will do PA > H3 > L3 > H3 > L3. Every weapon has optimal combos for each situation. If you can learn to be effective with your chains as opposed to spamming early on you will be running cata in no time.

Greatsword is fine, but that’s all it is. Too many other weapons just do it’s jobs better. It’s too much of a standard all-rounder weapon to excel at anything.

I don't get why people love that damn sword, it's slow, you need to spend some time to learn to be able to use that damn sword, charged attack doesn't protect and shields apper at the end of charge meaning you can't really use it as block unless you're anticipating an attack and it can be used on Mercenary and grail knight, because has backup weapon if needed.
For Bardin, I'd recommend 1h hammer + axe and shield. Both work very well for non-slayer careers. 1 h hammer has great dodges, stamina and stagger. A&S has incredible stagger on it's first heavy attack, spam it against a horde and you'll live forever. Also a good tankier option if that's how you like to play. Now for Slayer chads, dual axes and the great axe are both enjoyable(also my current loadout). Just remember that heavies are for hordes on the GA, light attacks for single targets. Warpick with dawi-drop is a really fun meme build to master as well, you can one shot Chaos Warriors in midair with that thing lol. Edit: forgot about Kruber, I'm less help here cuz I only really use dlc weapons with him. If you strictly want what's optimal, Executioner's Sword is strong and fun. Sorru I can't help out more in that department
Agree on all, but i would not say bret sword is any better than the rest of them. Bret sword is not as safe as all other weapons you listed. If i had to choose just a single weapon out of those, SnD is far better rounded weapon than BLS. If you would take BLS in chaos wastes you would not have such a good time as with the rest of them for example, so there are requirements for it to be the best, and it does not fulfill them.
Ugh rapier again... Saltz main here I legit only use it on BH for the horde clear and the infinite block when you pair it with Parry ( just spam alt attack and you're gucci ). Other than that it's fine I guess but since you can melt anything on WHC with the billhook and BULLY everything else with a 2H Hammer on Zealot I don't se the point. At this point playing Zealot with anything else than the Hammer is heresy. ONE SHOT STORMVERMIN ALL FUCKING DAY LONG MAMEN :D
Why so people value BLS so highly? I think there are better options for GK to run. Yea, sure, BLS is a good mix of offence and defence, but I really like to be able to do a specific job really well, like onetapping CW’s with Exec sword for example.
I disagree about the fire sword. The fire dagger has just a little bit less range but has the same h1 modifiers and h2 is armor piercing. Having armor piercing makes the dagger superior to the fire sword imo. You can easily kill chaos warriors with headshots and a bit of dancing
I just learned about some breakpoints like 25% dmg/power vs specific enemy type built into gear and opportunist and you can push even plague rats and Chaos warriors out of their melee moves. Kind of have to pick either or though and build that route. For me i wanted to bully plague monks and the overhand polearm stormvermin that can one shot. PUsh push push :)
This except 2 things: 1. You're trash if you main BW, melee pyro is big brain git gud. 2. Spear&Shield on Handmaiden is almost always objectively her best option, the push stagger and speed/control is supremely helpful for difficulties above Cata
This game is so hard and grindy, I personally think it's not worth it, it's fun; but considering the time it takes to get the best gear and how it's not about time invested but "luck and skill" it's a huge shame.
If it's fun then why worry? Just enjoy playing for the sake of playing, you'll eventually get there. Also skill is a reflection of time invested usually, so thats a bit contradictory.

Rapier's sidearm can crit. If you make the Crit Power on this... it can one-shot armored units if you are lucky. Its that good

- When charged up it can get through stormvermin with two strong hits to them (unless they block it with a shield)
- It's amazing against monsters as with shorter weapons you have to get in close after their attack chain to get a hit in, with the spear you can hit them from a slightly safer distance away and with the shield you have much more defense
- You can block bullets with it (as shields in the game are a must-have for higher difficulty playthroughs, whether it be the skittergate or whatever, especially if you are planning on doing it solo or don't have your bots as good support classes or your team decides to go rogue and get butchered quickly)

Ive read a lot on steam thats it fucking dead and nerfed. But i dunno. Is Breton shield and sword still S tier? Cause its in every build for grail

@@fynii9478 it's a popular choice as a pocket weapon for grail knight since it's a shield and has ridiculous stagger potential + a good bash attack. Often paired with the Bret longsword since the longsword covers almost everything else except for blocking bullets and warpfire
@@glockenspiel604 oh yeah I know, I run one with opportunist and more stamina which I use only to block and push enemies around, but its damage potential is abysmal.

A good idea and I play with bots all the time! 1 quick tip for bots is always take the Ironbreaker, there is no exception to this rule lol

alongside opportunist for the fire sword, if you can get a warrior priest to take the prayer of might talent (gives everyone more stagger) the stagger will be astronomical and you can just stunlock everything
can you please tell me the amount of "view" you have in the videos you put as an example? When I play I feel a little bit dizzy because of the camera, or the "pov" idk how to tell you, the scale of the camera I use it around 80-90 but it isn't the best for me, and the videos that you put in here feels very comfortable to plays and watch

New player that played too much over the week, and I pretty much like the list as well. Tho I always main Battle Princess and has gravitated towards Shield and Flail, it's not really super fun. It's effective, has everything except the wet slicing sounds blades make, but it's too effective and no non-sense.
I always look for time to use these other weapons (except Fire sword, haven't worked on Sienna yet) and only bring out Battle Princess when I need my game face on and the lobby is heavy.
BLS being top is defo righteous tho. I don't think I even pull out any other weapons when using Grail, just BLS and forget I even have a second melee.

Just picked up the game and I've been having so much fun with the BLS, glad my taste in murder is good. Also, how do you force attacks? Never used a push attack in my life, was just kinda spamming heavy light heavy light
Each weapon is different but the dummies out in the yard are your best bet for learning. BLS you can force the downward strikes by push attack > heavy attack > light attack > repeat. Quicker you can learn to not just spam the faster you will improve. That being said many good weapons you can spam all day!
Sword and dagger definitely needs a good hit with the nerf bat. It does everything well, almost to the degree where you are actively gimping yourself by not taking it. Easily Kerillian's best weapon - and knowing how good all her other weapons are, the depth of that statement is vast.
That's honestly why I as a Kerillian main almost never use it, its so good is boring lol. I use daggers on Shade, greatsword on Handmaiden, dual swords on Sister, and usually glaive or 1hand sword for Waystalker.

It is the Coruscation Staff. It is a DLC staff though which is why you may not have seen it

LOL thanks man. Yeah Heavy 1 or light 2 simply refer to the attack with reference to it's chronological position in the chain. So the first strike in a heavy chain is heavy H1, second is H2 and so on.

@@joshuathompson2093 Something to be aware of when moving to higher difficulties is being efficient with your attacks. Each attack in the chain (mostly) have different modifiers. One might cleave while another might have no cleave but good armor piecing while the next might do neither. Therefore knowing which attacks in the chain do what and how to proc them on command is important lest you be wasting clicks. All chains can be manipulated by combining heavies, lights, block cancels and push attacks in varying orders. For instance I talk about a BLS combo. Heavy 3, light 3 and push attack on BLS all do great single target/armour damage but we don't want to run through the whole chain to get them out or just spam so we need a way reliably proc them. So in this particular instance we can go push attack into a heavy which will proc H3 follow that with a light and it will proc L3 then repeat. So, push attack to initiate the chain then heavy, light, heavy, light will do PA > H3 > L3 > H3 > L3. Every weapon has optimal combos for each situation. If you can learn to be effective with your chains as opposed to spamming early on you will be running cata in no time.

Greatsword is fine, but that’s all it is. Too many other weapons just do it’s jobs better. It’s too much of a standard all-rounder weapon to excel at anything.

I don't get why people love that damn sword, it's slow, you need to spend some time to learn to be able to use that damn sword, charged attack doesn't protect and shields apper at the end of charge meaning you can't really use it as block unless you're anticipating an attack and it can be used on Mercenary and grail knight, because has backup weapon if needed.

What about best weapon for player without DLC?
For Bardin, I'd recommend 1h hammer + axe and shield. Both work very well for non-slayer careers. 1 h hammer has great dodges, stamina and stagger. A&S has incredible stagger on it's first heavy attack, spam it against a horde and you'll live forever. Also a good tankier option if that's how you like to play.
Now for Slayer chads, dual axes and the great axe are both enjoyable(also my current loadout). Just remember that heavies are for hordes on the GA, light attacks for single targets. Warpick with dawi-drop is a really fun meme build to master as well, you can one shot Chaos Warriors in midair with that thing lol.
Edit: forgot about Kruber, I'm less help here cuz I only really use dlc weapons with him. If you strictly want what's optimal, Executioner's Sword is strong and fun. Sorru I can't help out more in that department
Agree on all, but i would not say bret sword is any better than the rest of them. Bret sword is not as safe as all other weapons you listed. If i had to choose just a single weapon out of those, SnD is far better rounded weapon than BLS. If you would take BLS in chaos wastes you would not have such a good time as with the rest of them for example, so there are requirements for it to be the best, and it does not fulfill them.

Ugh rapier again... Saltz main here I legit only use it on BH for the horde clear and the infinite block when you pair it with Parry ( just spam alt attack and you're gucci ). Other than that it's fine I guess but since you can melt anything on WHC with the billhook and BULLY everything else with a 2H Hammer on Zealot I don't se the point. At this point playing Zealot with anything else than the Hammer is heresy. ONE SHOT STORMVERMIN ALL FUCKING DAY LONG MAMEN :D

Yea, sure, BLS is a good mix of offence and defence, but I really like to be able to do a specific job really well, like onetapping CW’s with Exec sword for example.

I disagree about the fire sword. The fire dagger has just a little bit less range but has the same h1 modifiers and h2 is armor piercing. Having armor piercing makes the dagger superior to the fire sword imo. You can easily kill chaos warriors with headshots and a bit of dancing

It doesn't say so but Opportunist also increases stagger strength of the weapon. So on high stagger weapons it can be very useful

I just learned about some breakpoints like 25% dmg/power vs specific enemy type built into gear and opportunist and you can push even plague rats and Chaos warriors out of their melee moves. Kind of have to pick either or though and build that route. For me i wanted to bully plague monks and the overhand polearm stormvermin that can one shot. PUsh push push :)

This game is so hard and grindy, I personally think it's not worth it, it's fun; but considering the time it takes to get the best gear and how it's not about time invested but "luck and skill" it's a huge shame.
If it's fun then why worry? Just enjoy playing for the sake of playing, you'll eventually get there. Also skill is a reflection of time invested usually, so thats a bit contradictory.
