That's the result of Blizzard Irvin's Warcraft art team getting involved in a franchise they clearly weren't suited to take on. You should check out Blizzard North's version of Diablo 3 before it was cancelled in 2005. The art style for their version of Diablo 3 was going to be way more in-line and consistent with Diablo 1&2 than Blizzard Irvin's version.

D3 is better, plus you can own the game forever! D4 is always online, and they made it clear the lifespan of it won't be forever. Once they pull the plug, all your content is gone forever.
It’s not about the age. I hated D3s graphics the day it came out and always have since. It’s because they went from the dark realistic artistic direction of D2 to the cartoony wow style graphics in D3 it was like they were styling it for 12 year olds or something compared to the Mature style of diablos roots. I’m glad Diablo 4 went back to that style.
As much as i agree that D4 looks inmensly better than D4, i enjoyed playing my D3 WD 10000 times more than my D4 Necro....and for me that is more important

Diablo 3 is MUCH better than 4 in so many ways. Graphically 4 takes the win, sure, but content wise 3 is so much better. Better skill customization, magic find, better movement skills, you feel more powerful. For instance i've been doing the same damage since level 10, and im level 23 now. Not getting decent gear and constantly getting frozen/stunned to death. All in all they better fix this fucking mess.

D3 looks better in my opinion. Cartoony art style ages much better too. Blizzard has always had that cartoony style in their game. Thats why Ive loved them so much.
Looking back I never realised how cheesy d3 was, but after hearing 'you dare attack me?' once more from the sorcerer I realise this game is a fair bit past its time
D3s magic class is a wizard and D4 is a sorcerer. A wizard has Arcane abilities with the elemental and Sorcerer is only a wielder of the elements ( Ice,Fire and lightning)
D3 is more like an arcade while D4 is more like a survival game. I don't know if its because I play it on veteran but everything in D4 wants to kill the shit out of you where as the D3 mobs are more chill and i dont now what im saying tbh

The spell effects are toned down some in d4 due to the multiplayer aspects of the game. Too much going on on-screen creates clutterness so you cant tell whats going on
I played 2 3 and 4. It’s sad how they had so many classes in Diablo 2 but have only 4 until maybe 1-2 dlc ones. So basically after 4 season you tried everything. Also battlepass is very annoying and not allowing gamesharing deluxe edition content is stupid not that it’s much anyway.

Honestly it feels like we are comparing Street Fighter to Mortal Combat in Graphix. I like Diablo 3's distinguishable, cartoonish graphix's. But its personal preference I think.
If you went back to 1997 and showed them what Diablo is going to be 25 years later, they'd be incredibly disappointed - like I am now. Something as simple as a movable camera or not isometric would have been enough to get me to pick this up. I have exactly zero interest in playing what is essentially Diablo 1.4
I for one enjoyed D3s cartoony vibe. I think D4 is TOO realistic, all the mobs blend in with the background because there is no pixelated edges. It's too smooth everywhere. At least give an option for player/mob borders.

the ragdoll effects in D3 made the game funner than D4.
One of my fav differences h as been the music - back to that real dark asthetic

Physics, especially ragdolls, are greatly downgraded in Diablo IV; it's insane how much better they were in Diablo III

I liked db3’s haunted graveyard theme in act 1. Very memorable start. Db4 is also interesting, kind of bland in act 1 with the snow.

I bought Diablo 3 four times. Three times on Xbox and once on PC. It was a great game and Diablo 4 is even better.
