There is no enforcement by the police. I unfortunately live very close to a Shebeen and brothel hotel. They use the park over the road from them and go on from dusk to dawn. Music is played loud all the time. Selling alcohol to be consumed in the public park and street. The police just ride passed and do not do anything. Told that the hotel can go on till early morning (5 am). It is now Sunday afternoon and the music is vibrating the whole residential area. I am told that the police get a 'brown envelope' to ignore the breaking of the law, keeping them in business and allowing total disturbance of the area. During the night the people coming from the Shebeen 'Safari Lounge' urinate and defecate on our front pavements and make one hell of a noise in their drunken state and rev and spin car tires. Talk is cheap and money pays the whisky.... in this case the police.
Here we are fighting a battle we are ultimately gonna loose. If one visits our townships and look at the abuse of alcohol by young and old,you will understand my opening sentence.People sleep and wake up with a bottle of beer next to the pillow

Unfortunately, we are a nation of addicts. It's sad. More alcohol restrictions and regulations are needed!

Your life, your choice. Drink wisley
