  • Here's a brief review of the Mesa Boogie V-Twin pedal. I've had the rack mount version for a few years now, but the pedal version is far more practical. You can use it like a three-channel amp - Clean, Blues, or Solo. You can't mix the channels like you can on the rack mount version, but the sounds are good all the same.

another major artists who used this pedal live was robert smith of the cure ..there is an extra mix knob inside the pedal accessible from beneath the unit.

Thanks. I didn't know Robert Smith used one.

Not sure if Robert used one. Doubt it. He’s usually all Boss pedals. There was, however, one on Porl Thompson’s Cure pedalboard for a long time.

Back in the day i remember thinking the rack version sounded way better. That was so long ago, and i could have been hearing with my eyes. :) How similar do you feel they are?

Thanks. They are close but I also think the rack mount version is better. You can't blend both channels on the pedal. That said, for a band rehearsal, it's much easier to chuck the pedal in a bag with some leads, etc.
