I bought the rifle due to your review of it. Glad I did, this is going to be my hunting rifle this year, I sighted mine in with Tula 154gr. soft points. Very accurate, I'm very impressed with it.

I have a Ruger American Ranch (7.62x39) that is just as accurate. I really like it. Light weight, low recoil, and it uses the same magazine as the Ruger Mini-30 so you can get extended magazines for it. You mentioned the 22-250. I also have the Ruger American Predator (22-250) and it's just as accurate as well.
Mine in 5.56 is not picking up the shell's properly. It doesn't sound like the magazine is locking in all the way. I only have one magazine so I'll have to wait until I get another one before I try to fix it.
Hey man, that was nice shooting. My schedule right now has me missing your live broadcasts by just a little bit but I always jump on as soon as I can. The thing that is also important is that right now 7.62 x 39 is usually available and not as expensive as most other rounds. When you're getting that kind of accuracy and the ammo isn't as high priced as most other rounds, you are good to go for quite a while. ALL THE ZOOMS BROTHER !!!!!!!!!
I've heard lots of good things about the RA Ranch. Now that lots of semi autos here in Canada are about to be banned, I picked up this one and went back to watching this video a year later. Hunting season just finished so this weekend I'm home. I'll get the new rig sighted in with some Barnaul HP next weekend. This will be for target and coyotes on someone's rural 150 acre property for predator control. Not too cheap now. Rifle alone cost me $850 CAD and I put a Vortex Crossfire 2 on it with the deahold BDC. Other standard RA rifles are going for about $600 up here but I wanted that Ranch for the 7.62x39. Cheaper to shoot and it's a nice weight short barrel for lots of fun and yote busting.
Good share... I’d like to see you come back to this one with some different ammo if it can be found and see what kinda groups that rifle is capable of. I think it may have a little more in it even with factor ammo..
When that 4th shot went in to the second plate making the clover leaf group, I actually said "Wow!" out loud. Nothing wrong with that rifle or its shooter! Nice.
I appreciate your. Video I picked up a Ruger Ranch in 762X39 About two weeks ago have not fired it yet. But very impressed with your results. Keep safe keep your videos coming 👍👍
Ive always liked Rugers...I have several more expensive models...and semi's...but these budget ranch rifles have really impressed me. My only issue is the bolt wants to open slightly on my 350 legend model...I dont know if thats a problem throughout the model or just that one. But great value and a great gun.
Love mine, put the AR mag well assembly in mine...use AR 7.62x39 magazines...much smoother cycling from the magazine. And I already had lots of those magazines, didn't want to buy mini 30 magazines. Even though you are shooting just fine, you are getting a chin weld with the scope so high...lower rings would get you a nice cheek weld...much more comfortable.
I have had a 7.62x39 Ruger bolt rifle for about 10 years. I was also amazed at the groups it made at 100yds with wolf ammo. I put just a 4 power scope on it and it does the same thing from a good rest. Very enjoyable. Mine was from a batch ordered by a man named Daily or some name close to that. I never bothered to put a different scope on it cause it works so well just like that.
That's a brilliant group! A mate I work with in a gun shop bought the same set up. Nothing wrong with the 30/30 Russian in a bolt action. Thanks for sharing!
Just picked up one last Thursday. Dropped a Vortex Crossfire II on it Saturday night and got the same results as you at 100 yds with Brown Bear ammo. It's probably my favorite rifle now along with my Savage 350 legend.
@@Must_Be_Luck no, 100 yards does not impress me, but the fact that he can shoot cheap rifles with cheap ammo this goodd does, the fact that he proves people like you wrong daily by shooting SUB MOA with litirally anything impresses me.

I bought one in 2018. I put a 1x-4x Vortex crossfire with 30mm tube. On 1 power you can absolutely hold that crosshair completely still on a target. The smaller scope fits the rifle perfect. With it zeroed at 100 yards I can hit paint cans at 300 by using the thick part of the crosshair and the 4 x power using the Tula 124 soft point........Also one of my favorite rifles. One 1x power you can see the barrel aligned with the vertical crosshair. This gives you confidence the rifle is still zeroed. Plus it is really quick sighting on 1 x power. No need to overscope these rifles when using the M-43 round.
yea there was a time not so long ago when you would need a flash top of the line rifle to get those sort of groups now its just common place . Probably whats more impressive is the ammo which is about as cheap as you can get
Man you’re awesome. Been watching your videos for a while, very humble and have your very own personal way of making these videos. I hope to see you hit a mill some day, keep on keeping on 🙏 “who-tee-who”!
I bought one in Nov. of 19', use it for deer and hog hunting mostly. I mounted a Leupold VX-Freedom 1.5-4x20mm, and a .30 cal brake on it. If you'll clean up that magazine with very light filing, and a dremel & cratex, it will run smoother. TI polished the feed ramp as well. Great rifle.
Awesome video! I have the same exact rifle and caliber. I’ve took three deer with this rifle this last deer season. Never had to track one further than 50 yards. Hornady Black ammo is what I was using with the sst bullet. Love the rifle and caliber. I took a shot at 112 yards at a 180 pound buck. Perfect heart shot didn’t run 15 yards. Awesome video!
WTW, hats off to GunPrime. I ordered a Ruger Mark IV from them last Friday and it was delivered to my FFL in SC today. Easiest transaction online ever. Looking forward to this video.
not saying you should do this but this is what i did. i actually took factory 124gr wolf steel cased ammo and pulled the bullets, took an average weight of the powder of 10 shells and down loaded it by .5gr. i took a 308 bullet expander and removed the de priming pin and resized my steel cases and then loaded it up with whatever 110-125gr .308 cal bullets suited for the 300 blackout. out of my AK. 110vmax shot absolutely wonderful. just about an inch to 1.5inch at 100 yards. next on my list to try are the 110 Barnes blacktip. again not saying you should do it but with a little bit of knowledge and a great deal of safety and checking everything hunting ammo can be made up from simple factory FMJ. i have dont this as well with .223/556. took a normal 2MOA load and dropped it down to sub MOA. basically went through the shells and powder made the neck tension consistent and the powder varied by .2gr per shell, added a good hunting bullet and it worked great at a fraction of the cost of new factory Hornady ammo.
Love me a .308 short!! Looked at that rifle many times.. that and the cz. Settled on the mini-30.. 2nd trip to the woods with it, took a 4 point buck!! Using Hornady black.. amazing what that bullet will do, under 100yrds!! Rifle will make a 8" gong dance at a 100yrds 👍 great JOB in representing Ruger... been a fan for a life TIME lol..
Thanks for that very interesting video. I have the exact same rifle and LOVE it. I used it deer hunting last year, ONE shot one kill. I added a suppressor and shoot subsonic ammo, totally silent.
Man I was holding one of those in my hands same caliber and everything for $400 at my favorite gun shop before the whole pandemic started. I’m kicking myself for not picking it up because other people have reported getting stupidly good groups out of cheap ammo. You just proved it. 7.62 x 39 it’s such a great round to have fun with. Anything from deer and smaller is going to have a bad day with some soft points
Got one in 5.56, and I absolutely love the rifle! It’s amazing what a company can do without spending all sorts of money on sub moa barrel development! This thing is a workhorse and accurate as can be with all sorts of ammo!
Thank you for this review, sir! The Ruger American in 7.62x39 is available at several stores in Houston and Galveston, and most stores will sell you 7.62x39 ammo without any limit. A friend needs help with pigs on his ranch and this will be my rifle for the job. You have a sweet little rifle, and I hope to have one soon following in your footsteps. Have a Blessed Easter!
So much for those knocking Rooski steel case ammo too! ( I have 7.62x39 AR'S, and have never used anything but steel 154gr. S.P. and 125gr. S.P. ) You have yourself a 100 yard ear hole'er there. Nice setup, for a truck gun, deer stand, or in the swamp for piggies. Once you get that rifle afield, you'll appreciate that short bbl.
I just bought a RAP but haven't had the chance to shoot it yet. For quite a while I've had certain ideas about building a rifle/optic pushing $1.5 or $2k. The more I researched and figured out what I'm really looking for, the more I've realized how misguided I was. The main difference seems to be in the wisdom of practical shooters, often hunters, as opposed to tactical guys focused heavily on gear and looking cool. Thank you for the fun video and congrats on the awesome new rifle.
Crazy accuracy for that cartridge and cheap ammo. I just purchased my first non-Weatherby fat bolt gun....a Sauer 100 XP Classic in .308. I can only hope it shoots as well as your Ruger American 7.62x39.
Wolf Polyformance Steel Case Sub-MOA 5 shot group off a sled with a sub $500 rifle: there is the headline. Very Nice. I just hope Uncle Joe's Handlers don't decide to kill ALL Ammo import with the stroke of a pen. I love 7.62x39, to me it has a ton of useful application and may be a great ballistic compromise: plenty of wallop out to 200 yards and available options for hunting bullets with great terminal performance. Most importantly- it is fun, easy and cheap to shoot. I have this same rifle and use it as the on-hand "ranch rifle" on my property with a Trueglow LPVO 1-6, and it is a tact driver, yote smacker, dinner getter, 200 yard steel ringer with 20 round mags. What more do you want from your Ranch/Patrol Bolt action rifle? Thanks WhoTee
I agree with your comments regarding what to spend on a hunting rifle these days. The technology for optics has made them way less expensive then they were a generation ago. And the rifle manufacturers have gotten a lot smarter with there free-floated barrels and adjustable triggers. Even the polymer stocks are is reasonably well made in most cases and, if need be, these stocks can be changed out for something that suits the shooter (e.g. a Boyds stock). But yeah - the RAR Ranch out of the box just plain works.
Love my ruger 10/22…fun and inexpensive fun at range rifle…lately been looking to go up in caliber for more of a kick…the American bolt action is definitely on my radar, especially after this video…believe the higher caliber along with the bolt action will give me a more fulfilling range experience…great vid!!!! Keep em coming….
I have the same rifle, running a Vortex Crossfire II 3X9X40. My scope is mounted lower than yours, but I understand you often have to multi task scopes due to the volume of rifles you shoot. I run Hornady steel case ammo with the 123 grain SST bullets in mine. It will consistently shoot sub MOA at 100 yards. This little gun showed me how accurate this caliber can be and the impressive quality of the Ruger American firearms. I also have one in 450 Bushmaster and it will shoot just as well. If you ever do tests on discontinued firearms, and you may have already done one on this rifle when they were new. But out of all my rifles, the most accurate and cheapest deer rifle I own, my number one go to rifle, is a Marlin XS7 in .308 with a Redfield 3x9x50 scope using Hornady 150 SST. It out shoots everything I own, Browning, Remington, and Winchester, even my custom rifles I built myself,(AR's and 10-22's). Sorry for the long post, great video and keep up the good work.

Great channel,. Just picked one up yesterday , been looking for one for a year and a half.
One thing for sure is, both plates are DEAD! Buddy that was some good shootin' !!! Peace From Shelbyville!!!
Hey Danny
Love me a .308 short!! Looked at that rifle many times.. that and the cz. Settled on the mini-30.. 2nd trip to the woods with it, took a 4 point buck!! Using Hornady black.. amazing what that bullet will do, under 100yrds!! Rifle will make a 8" gong dance at a 100yrds 👍 great JOB in representing Ruger... been a fan for a life TIME lol..
Bolt sounds a bit dry bolt guns love to run wet use lucas gun oil its perfect for a short action bolt
Very cool, just ordered a Howa in this same caliber. Looking forward to seeing what it will do.
All that with so sit in your butt steel cased ammo no less. Makes me want to get a 762. Bolt gun. And I agree my 22-250 is a favorite too. Who-tee-who
I love them!
I do plan on buying one but, That is the highest scope I’ve ever seen on a bolt action rifle.
Great shootin👍
More impressed by this Ruger than the C Z you shot in a previous video
That's some of your best shooting yet. Well done.
Thanks Mark
Just got my AR 7.62 zeroed @ 25yrs..supposed to zero out again @ 200 yrds..can't wait until the damn weather get better!
Got one in 5.56, and I absolutely love the rifle! It’s amazing what a company can do without spending all sorts of money on sub moa barrel development! This thing is a workhorse and accurate as can be with all sorts of ammo!
I love em
Thank you for this review, sir! The Ruger American in 7.62x39 is available at several stores in Houston and Galveston, and most stores will sell you 7.62x39 ammo without any limit. A friend needs help with pigs on his ranch and this will be my rifle for the job. You have a sweet little rifle, and I hope to have one soon following in your footsteps. Have a Blessed Easter!
Happy Easter! I love this one
It’s not just the rifle but the man behind the rifle makes the gun shoot accurate
So much for those knocking Rooski steel case ammo too! ( I have 7.62x39 AR'S, and have never used anything but steel 154gr. S.P. and 125gr. S.P. )
You have yourself a 100 yard ear hole'er there. Nice setup, for a truck gun, deer stand, or in the swamp for piggies. Once you get that rifle afield, you'll appreciate that short bbl.
I love it

That rifle will fit into tight spaces, wait n see! Make sure it gets adequate "exercise."
I took mine to the range this weekend and YES it is my favorite rifle !
I'm impressed most by the ammo. Never would have thought Wolf steel case with group that small.
Had one for a couple of years now. I found some KSPZ ammo that shoots great out of mine.
That is great accuracy for Tula steel cased ammo. I'm a Savage fan and that is exactly what Ruger built the American after. Good job Ruger
4:37 "This bolt really wants you to man handle it."
One of my fav deer rifles. 123gn fusion makes them DRT!
Thanks Lloyd. I love the 450bm too
Dayuum good video and shooting. Thank you! Simple easy and tells the story.
So ready to get my hands on one of those in x39.... Good stuff👍🏿
I joined the Ruger American Predator owners club yesterday!!! Can’t wait until I’m done setting it up, scope , sling & stuff
Awesome!
I agree with you . It doesn't have to be an expensive rifle and scope to shoot great .
Nice shootin' WTW! Very nice group mate. Still trying to catch up on your last couple of weeks vids and even try to get on a live, but I'm still a bit slow after my operation.
Hey K Parker! Hope you are doing well
For a second, I thought you had a swing set over your right shoulder.
I thought it was pretty badass you’d have a swing down range
I keep proving my noveske loving friend wrong about the need for his premium gear. Great vid!
💯💯💯
Awesome. I may have to put one of these on my list, after watching you shoot that one.
Hey Slick!
