I’m a Bengali (spouse Gujarati) settled in Mumbai for over 12 years now. Maharashtrian food is super super good 😌. And the city and it’s people are extremely warm - pure love, emotions and respect 🙏 ❤️

Maharashtrian Thali needs to be promoted the same way the Punjabi Thali is promoted. We too have variety of food in veg and non-veg items.
Absolutely agreed. I am born and brought up in Nashik and since childhood love महाराष्ट्रियन thali. Amti, Bhajji, Waran bhaat, toop, masale bhaat, puran poli.... Just amazing.
Maharashtrian jevan is the best. .. usalinche evadhe prakar aahet , hiravya palebhajya, ani nonveg tar out of world. .. but unfortunately outside maharashtra and even in maharashtra marathi food is just Vada pav and misal pav ... . ..
It can never compare with other north indian or east Indian food.maharashtrian food is less flavoured and simple.its almost a poor version of indian food.

Marathas ruled 85% of India before the British took over. But this is never taught in our history.
Yess every state or part of this nation has contributed their blood equally for this nation..but only those who are marketed well are known..for eg Gujarat which is infamous for not giving its blood was India's powerhouse before Marathas. One of many eg is if Bappa Rawal which hardly do people know that he is from Gujarat. He is the ancestor of Rana Pratap and Shivaji Maharaj and he along with other king of Gujarat destroyed the mighty Arabs which saved India for almost 400 yrs from foreign rule before Ghoris attack.
Because mumbai was developed by parsi ,gujrati and punjabi, marwari n sindhi business mans it has nothing to do with marathis. Despite of mumbai none of a single city is as develope as mumbai n also have job opportunities

Good to see Shivaji Satham sir after a long time. I am his fan since his Marathi serial "Ek Shunya Shunya". That was way before his most famous serial "C.I.D" in Hindi. Good Episode Kunal!

I used to enjoy Ek Shunya Shunya too. I have a fan moment to speak of. In the early 90s, whe the show used.to be on air, I once saw Shivaji Satam and his partner in the serial on a crowded local train traveling towards Thane.
Kept thinking to myself, they look familiar. But never approached them. And of course, there was no room to budge in the train. 😉😉

Ganesh Chaturthi has such beautiful memories.....especially the food......Varan, Bhaat, Alu, (with shengdana & harbara dal), vatanyachi usal , shengdanyachi usal, valachi usal, batatyachi bhaji, with loads of ola khobra!!Awesome modaks made by my parents!!! Now of course my dad is 97 so he just gives instructions to make the saran but mom at 90 still makes them😊 drool.....can't wait till Wednesday.

This felt like two people who know the food, came together after ages and eating their favourite food forever! Less of an interview but more of “a chal apan tikde jevayla jaau aaj, khoop majja yeil mitra” type of episode❤️ loved it! But wished the episode would go on for some more time!

Yes, when we were young in school, we only used to get .."batata Vada" with dry red lasun chatni...i Vada pav started late 80s.
People aren't aware of maharashtrian cuisine but it's phenomenal though you need to acquire that taste!!!

Always when we visit Dadar first thing comes in mind is want to eat authentic maharashtrain food now next time will definitely visit aswad but do we get parking as mostly in dadar area parking is the biggest problem

I love misal , but i always wondered about the darshan part of it ..more of a gujurati thing to put farsaan ..it tastes great but always wondered the accuracy..
We have usual that’s misal without farsan on daily basis, misal is more spicy and has farsan, but cooked for kick start breakfast or for dining centers.

I’m a third gen North Indian living in mumbai yet apart from my mom n dad no one has tried full fledge Maharashtrian food
I wouldn’t compare too thali of any ethnicity as each of them hv their own uniqueness to them yet I must recommend MH thali to NorthIndians it’s unique to the palate for us
