I’m getting ACL surgery tomorrow from tearing it tumbling. I’m very nervous, and the way you handled this, gave me a lot of peace on the situation. Thank you.
Good luck. I have been in cheerleading for 8 years and hoping I don’t have to get surgery on the knee and did you get a nerve block? Hope you feel okay.
The best things for after surgery is soft foods things like yogurt or something that can eat that is small like mac and cheese or pot pie. The anesthetics are wearing of and fluids for her such gatorade or juice.
I’m getting ACL and meniscus surgery soon and watching your video is so relatable, I’m 38 and a CNA working on getting my RN and I feel useless right now not being able to do my normal stuff. I honestly want to cry 😭 the pain is so bad I don’t get much sleep. I’m praying all gets better for you ❤️
I had my ACL and Meniscus surgery last month, I have started walking now with short knee brace. I am 22 and had both my knees ACL and meniscus surgery done. Right knee while playing badminton and left knee while playing basketball. Sooo frustrating.😢
I'm a 2x ACL reconstruction survivor 😂 had my first knee surgery in summer 2013 and another one to revise the stupid ACL in fall/spring 2023 I'm a mess but I must say medicine has been improved drastically because I only got a shot for the nerve block when I was 17 but at 27 I got a 3 day pain pump to aid in post op pains and Norco for after the pain pump was removed (by me)
The UK AND some Asian Countries, they keep the patients 3 days before the surgery and 3 days after.... i don't get it. In here they can wait for you to wake up so they can send you home lol. And yeah over there they get there own room over here we have to share But still Thank god. *Speedy recovery*
As a reviewer and a person that has had knee surgery your doingvery good the help and the support your giving Eden fantastic as amother. When she comes out of sugery shewill be loopy and may take a little to get fully aake.
Can I ask how you dealt with it? I’m gonna be 15 soon and the thought of surgery terrifies me. I go in a few days to meet the surgeon and find out when I’m supposed to get the surgery. I completely ruptured my ACL to the point that I don’t have an ACL in my right leg anymore. And I’m absolutely terrified to have the surgery. But I’m a competitive gymnast so I obviously don’t have a choice here…and I really need it. But I’m scared.
I tore my meniscus at 17 (2013) and randomly got an acl reconstruction when I didn't need one really and then I retore the acl graft (2022) and got my surgery in 2023 (February) so basically 10 years apart
Thanks so much for posting this! Very informative. I'm actually getting surgery soon, too. I am wondering if you could explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that freaks me out!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!
Well, I got my acl done last week and what I remember is that I was joking around with the nurses after they told me they had injected the stuff and then I woke up with a nurse telling me to wiggle my toes so I didn't feel a thing
I got mine on Thursday. I was told that after I got my full extension I would be more confident so I put pillows under my foot and just let gravity work. Six days later I have full extension and maybe a bit of hyper also. If you are able to put weight on your leg, start slowly but surely and ice, ice has been really key for me.

How’d it go?

Aw girl, I tore mine too. I was so confused with God at this time but it will all make sense. Praying it all went well even now 1 yr later!!! ❤️
