    I am a month out of major ankle surgery today and just wanna say that this is so friggin relatable!!!!!! Literally everything you said i am going thru, it sucks to feel so dependent on everyone for the simplest things. Not to mention how tough it is to adjust to life with only one leg you can use while being in crazy pain even with meds!! You prob feel extra emotional bc of the oxy too, it has that effect on me at least! It definitely helps to know im not alone in this! We love you girl you are doing amazing!

    hi Gretchen. im crying watching this. first im so proud of you for being so strong, I know you can get through this. second, thank you for vlogging this, because in 2 weeks I am getting my meniscus repaired. I know acl surgery is way harder and the meniscus is literally nothing but im still really scared of being in that cast your in for 8 weeks with crutches. but seeing you be so strong and brave make men feel better about my surgery. Thank you Gretchen and I hope you feel better soon. love you so much!

    It’s so funny how much more talkative you are with your Pain meds. You are the cutest. I have Lyme disease and have been at home bedridden for the past year in constant pain on pain meds so I FEEL you on a whole other level. (I also have a vlog channel) Just be super grateful it’s just a short time, I know that sounds silly but just remember you will get all your strength and mobility back and you will be good as new. Also with your first ever time with pain meds they can make you super emotional but pain makes you super frustrated so I understand 💗💗 ps best thing I ever did was buy a bed wedge for sitting up!

    so cute to see all the deliveries you got, ppl love you! but yes, the acl surgery recovery and emotionally is the worst. my boyfriend had his surgery not even two months ago and he felt so dirty and lazy and hated it too! it made him so sad but not even two months later now he’s doing so good! so i know you will continue to do great. philippians 4:13 i can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!

    I tore my acl in January of last year and it was definitely hard, but in the end I’m thankful for the journey! It showed me how strong I was and how I could bounce back. Many people don’t realize how impactful of an injury it is, which is very hard. It is a long, hard recovery, but I know you will get through it! I am now back on the soccer field doing what I love and couldn’t be happier! All the best to you and your recovery! Stay strong ❤️❤️

    Lol I remember the feeling of not wearing a coat and being in short shorts in mid winter last year from being on crutches! All my physical therapists always asked how I wasnt cold, but its damn tiring and hot under that big brace! Also just from my experience, definitely get a chair to sit in for your first shower if you haven't already. After a few days of surgery I felt like I was ready to stand and move around bc I was so tired of laying in bed all day. But I got that feeling of passing out also from standing up too long and ended up sending my mom to the store last minute to get a shower chair. Bless our parents during recovery!!!!

    Oxy's always made me so nauseous after ACL surgery. My best advice is to get off of them as soon as you can (obviously depending on your pain level) and you'll feel much better! Also, just keep in mind that life only goes up from here and soon you'll think it's crazy that you were ever even in pain!! :)

    I totally know what you mean about surgery. I had mine December 29, 2017 and it was the hardest thing I had to do. I was so jealous about how happy you seemed on day two because that was my worst day 😂. Everyone experiences it differently though. The most painful part is getting up for the bathroom like you said because the blood rushed and the pain doesn’t go away. Although it sucks, and you feel helpless, you will bounce back stronger than ever. It’s crazy how much my life has changed since surgery but overall it has taught me so much and I’m so grateful, as weird as it sounds, that I got the surgery. You’ve got this!! 💕

    I tore my acl and meniscus in a soccer game a year and a half ago ( I was 15) it changed my life in every way possible. I got held back a grade, forced to do homeschool, and from that i split off from my friends. But luckily I’m catching up and going to a regular school next year in the grade I’m supposed to be in, things are finally turning around :) I don’t know what my point is but I wish you a super healthy and quick recovery!

    Hey, my name is Hristi and I tore my ACL when I was 13 (Nov 19th 2017) and I’m almost one year post op now. To be honest the first 12 or so weeks are tough not just physically but mentally too, however after that it becomes so much easier to do physical activity and you won’t be as restricted as you currently are. Try your best not to take as much medication, however I’ve heard that eating oranges helps with tissue repair so defo add more oranges into your diet! although it may seem like a long and daunting journey ahead, but when you come out of it you’ll become such a new and strong person and trust me you’ll be so proud of everything you’ve had to overcome because sadly not many people are aware of what a torn ACL is and i struggled as not many people saw the true severity of it. Keep on going girl, GOOD things will come your way. celebrate the little things💕

    If it makes you feel any better about all the crying, a lot of that is probably from the Oxycodone, that stuff can make you waaaay more emotional than normal. Hope your recovery continues to go well, you are such a positive person, and I know you will get though this, and that there is so much to learn from this experience, even though its really painful right now. :)

    • @KristinaMorrison
      @KristinaMorrison 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lily Bus a couple things you should know, take your pain meds as long as they tell you to because your body needs the anti inflammatory part of the medicine and it also helps keep you calm and resting so don’t just go off them just because you “feel no pain” or are nervous about them. Also really ice it every 20 minutes, and personally I kept mine elevated above my heart and it made the pain and swelling SO much better. Lastly best advice i have is if you are going to be in a bed but a bed wedge!!! You will do great you should totally vlog it!! I would watch xx

    About your little tmi part at the end, from experience, take a stool softener or you will regret it lol. Don’t let it go too long without going 😂. Worst part about pain meds after surgery. Also, the pain meds will make you overly emotional too, so that’s probably why you’re feeling like that! Hope you have a speedy recovery!

    I had knee surgery in August and that ice machine was my best friend! It will get harder before it gets easier! You got this though :)

    Max looks SO much like Archie Andrews from Riverdale especially when he doesn't wear a hat haha. I kept trying to figure out who he looked like and now I finally pin pointed it 😂

    pharmacy major here! the lightheadedness and nausea are from the pain meds (specifically the oxy) and it's extremely common because opioids lower your blood pressure and stimulate the receptors in your brain that make you feel nauseous. hoping for a speedy recovery!
