Just found one of these used for a steal after missing out on a 6505+ combo. Looking forward to pairing it up with a recently acquired torpedo Captor X as my first real tube amp. Great demo and playing and that’s also an awesome story behind how you got the amp as well. I still have the bass my dad helped me buy getting into music which I will never part with. Also a peavey!
These sound like shit through the Peavey speakers. They sound better through K100's or T75'S. Because the Ultra Plus head is super bright, like how a Mesa Mark amp is. 6505(5150's) are super dark sounding, and need bright sounding speakers like V30's to sound right.
@@MichaelDespairs I’m not hating, I just got accustomed to Rectifiers… 5150s are amazing amps and really hoping the hype dies down to make even more affordable! They also Have a better clean channel than the Mesa

Adrian Vandenberg used this amp head. Many hair metal band producers used these amps in studio ..

This can't beat a 5150 but IMO not many amps can. I think the Ultra plus is a boxy and dry sound, totally not my thing at all!

The matching cab isn't doing this amp justice. Mine is way more brutal sounding under V30's.
Yes the cab is the weak part, I do have a evh v 30s cab I run this through as well, I just wanted to showcase it in its original cab
great great playing! however, my ultra plus sounds CRUSHING compared to this. idk if its ur pups or what but that setup aint doin it justice
