    Respect to Chris for having Standoff at Sparrow Creek in his top 5 of 2019. Hugely overlooked film that came out in January. It's in my top 10 this year.

    Cant hate on 2019. It was an awesome year for films seriously. Scorsese and Tarantino same year gotta apreciate that on it's own let alone all the other amazing things we got❗And no they dont make em how they use to. Originality with compelling stories 2019 came thru

    Revisiting this and wondering how you could call 2019 an average year at the movies then see Sean's list. His top 5 is identical to me and I think all five films are damn near masterclass works

    Very enjoyable ❤
    Having seen Marriage Story I can honestly say I laughed...I cried...And I've never been happier to be a single man without kids who sleeps with a cat!
    Having seen Once Upon A Time In Hollywood I would say...If only it could've ended like that in real life...If only.

    "Transit" is great. The last movie to make me that disoriented by it's presentation was "Happy As Lazaro."
    "Barbara" is better than "Phoenix" IMO.

    I don't understand the Parasite love, I was super excited since I enjoyed most of that directors other films but the movie just really fell flat for me. I was never emotionally invested, I thought characters were doing really unrealistic/uncharacteristic things all the time just making it one random event at a time. I clearly just missed whatever was going on because on the surface level this movie was incredibly boring and basic.

    • @Lamidemonami7891
      @Lamidemonami7891 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You just missed it. Everything the characters do in the film makes sense and they’re actions are never once “uncharacteristic” of them. The movie has layers upon layers to it so the fact that you think it’s basic just emphasize the point that you simply just didn’t get it

      It is probably because of Fennessey. Oftentimes he thinks that he is on Siskel & Ebert. And that stupid question, if Chris is comfortable talking about movies like Standoff at Sparrow Creek or Dragged Across Concerete.

    I'm not saying Joker was the best movie of 2019 but we're definitely going to remember 2019 as the year when Joker (and also Endgame) came out.
    At least an honorable mention would be on point.
