I am 13 years old and since I was like 10 I watched you’re videos learning every opening middle game or end game but thank you for posting videos of tutorials of how to play chess or openings and stuff. Hikaru might have not made the mistakes he made either if the clock wasn’t so tight. Absolutely no way to have known how the middle->end game would have gone in more generous time controls.

The time pressure really made this an intense game. I would have loved to see this endgame without the time pressure. Tremendous complexity! Thanks Levy, really good pacing!
I love how Magnus vs Hikaru has become the chess equivalent of Godzilla vs King Kong. And it's just as entertaining for us nerds. Also, from the perspective of an intermediate player, I find it fascinating that chess at 3000 elo looks very similar to chess at 500 elo. When you're 1300, you're not good enough to see 20+ moves ahead like they can, so all we see is them not casteling, moving the same piece three times in the first eight moves, launching attacks before they've finished developing their pieces, and without Levy explaining why they're doing it, it looks the same.
