All the TP albums have photography from the original sessions, agree just the best.
thanks Mike, really enjoy your videos, just found you on the holiday break. I was looking for a comparison of Bill Even SaVV the OJC to the One Step. Here are are a couple titles from Craft that I purchased this year, not sure if you have them or not. 1. Gil Evans and Ten (I have the mono from RSD, great). 2. Thelonious Monk Brilliant Corners on the Small Batch release. Happy New Year
Tom
I don't have either of those. Thank you for the recommendations, I will check them both out. I do have some Gil Evans and one or two Thelonious Monk albums. Thank you Tom.
Thanks for the shoutout Mike! So happy your are enjoying Blackstone Legacy. I blind bought that record and it blew me away. We are definitely in a golden age of jazz reissues, so much great music once again available at affordable prices.
Thank you for the recommendation!!!
I’d like to recommend A World of Piano by Phineas Newborn. I just discovered him. The music is superb and the recording is awesome.
I will deffinetly check him out. Thank you!
Thank you for your great content. Also can tell that you are really into the music. Keep it up!
Thank you my good friend!
Yes, I'm the one who suggested Kirsten's album to you....
Glad you got it.
It's MY #1 album of the year.
Your others aren't too shabby, either 👍
And it is excellent!
Interesting my Wes album hasn’t arrived yet, but is slated for the sound by Tracking Angle, so interesting you’re contradicting that which is good news.
Kirsten is the first release from Kevin’s own label, and distributed through Mike at the Ingroove store. He has a new release in the can about to be released.
That sounds great! Thanks for the info.
Jai achte le coltrane alice hiers😊
MoFi and Analogue Productions (AcousTech) both did the Bennett/Evans.
Thank you for the heads up. I didn't know that.
I've had such bad luck with the quality of reissues that I stay away from them entirely. Clean and graded OG's are still better.
In many cases you are absolutely correct!! Thank you.
Your tshirt should say
Mobile fidelity records, lying for profit.
I love that! I should have one made up with that!!
Why don’t you ever talk about new releases instead of reissues?? Isn’t there any new music you listen to???
Great question yes, there is new music that I purchased but lately I’ve been involved in re-issues because there are so many great ones coming out. An example is the last video on jazz reissues. I did include the kirsten Edkins album which is a new album and also the Woody Shaw album that was not really new but it was new to me since I had never heard of him before. That one was a suggestion from a comment on one of my videos. I will definitely be highlighting some new music very soon. Thank you for your comment.
That Bill Evans live Vanguard album is certainly an excellent release by Craft, but unfortunately it has nothing to do with audiophile releases. That album is probably the most overrated jazz album of all time. Not only is it not well recorded, but the music on it is nothing special or nothing of high quality. I don't want to be unpleasant, but people need to be told the truth. Maybe the biggest stupidity is to buy that alnum on 2LP 45RPM, there is no need for that at all, that Craft edition on 33RPM is quite enough.
I appriciate your thoughts on the album however I think you will find others that think differently, I don't have the best of sound systems but yet I really enjoy the music as well as the sound quality. Thanks for voicing your opinon.
I agree, a lot of jazz albums are highly overrated and boring to be honest.
And that’s why we’re all different. This album and Waltz For Debbie are both from the same session, and for me outstanding. I have lots of Bill Evans and these are right up there. However Alice Coltrane and the free/avant garde/modal stuff not for me, at all. Happy 24 hunting.
The Alice Coltrane album is deffinetly different! Exited for the new year in vinyl! Thank you!@@celtic-audiophile
Totally disagree with you.😮
