God bless those kind folks of La Grange who came to the aid of the person who got stuck while crossing the street in what was certainly a very distressing situation for the individual concerned. Probably the most emotional thing I've ever seen on VRF cam.
. . . yes, wonderful, but they edited out the part where the Ninja's 🙅 came out of nowhere and stole all of their UNoccupied, UNlocked, RUNning vehicles . . . full of juiced up Apples, Androids, Wallets and whatnot . . . but yes, helpful.
Those guys at La Grange reminded me of my father. He was the Good Samaritan. When he died, I chose the wording for his headstone. "He always stopped to help when others passed by."
A few years back I decided to let my hair grow out and let my clothes get a little more ragged. But that didn't change the the way I helped others. But after awhile, those others forget who I was and looked at me as a bum. It's amazing how some people think. We need more people like your father.
Lol, love my appearance as the dinosaur at HSC. I also appeared at Strasbourg camera costumes up, but it was around 4 on the 9th and I was wayyyy at the end of the parking lot so probably wasn’t seen by the camera, but the crew of 611 had a pretty good laugh so that was worth it. Think of those that were en route to Chicago, or the BNSF train crews having to find places to wait it out, while they cleanup & repair the derailment site. Just remember that there are many reasons why Amtrak is mostly late to its destination--weather & derailments being a few. 19:47 - BUCX? Who acquired that former CN engine? 34:30 - Howdy, engineer!
Reminds me of years ago when we got off the school bus and had to cross the railroad tracks. My neighbor was in a wheelchair and the front wheels got stuck in the gap of the rail. We heard the train whistle. The boys pulled her off the wheelchair and the others pulled her chair off the tracks. This was back in the 60's before special handicapped buses.
Nice! Also I'm So HAPPY tonight because this evening I caught my VERY first HU! NS 8114! It was not active, just sitting in the yard, but still! My first HU!
That deer on the track reminded me of when I worked at the Soo roundhouse in St. Paul, MN. One of our locos that came in for 001 service had hit a deer and it rolled up between the pilot plate and the front of the lead truck. Had a 'ell of a time getting it out not to mention the awful stink being it was mid-summer.
Oh yeah those storms They hit me hard where I live in Omaha. I woke up to the sirens going off at 1 am and was getting the rest of my family downstairs because I thought there was a tornado which I later found out there wasn’t but when I went outside at 2 am I saw that part of my yard was basically a river with all the water rolling downhill to the street with all the stuff that wasn’t tied down in my yard blown as far as my one of my neighbors house a mile away from where I live. Even at 2 am almost everyone was outside trying to gather all of the stuff that they almost lost and trying to help others gather their stuff that was blown everywhere. Just so some people that weren’t hit by the storm know how strong the winds were, my metal flag pole was bent at about 30 degrees at the base from the wind and my house is missing shingles Wind gusts capped at about 96 mph

Cool how I was featured in two cameos from the TVRM camera and the Ashland, VA camera! I rode the SOU 630 Missionary Ridge Local during July 2021 and the Amtrak Silver Star during September 2018.
