Do my eyes deceive me or is the roadwork in front of the Kingsley Inn in Fort Madison, Iowa nearing completion? My wife and I stayed at the Inn some years back - room at the front, of course. Railfan heaven - the Inn even had a radio tuned to the BNSF dispatcher! Plus there is the twin deck swingbridge (last one standing in the US I think) plus the river barge traffic plus Galesburg is close enough for a day trip. Hopefully we can re-visit one day!!
0:28 Those hot air balloons are so close to the ground and the camera! 1:46 the California Zephyr (with 146, 2, and the Broadway Limited car) meet the Southwest chief at Galesburg 6:27 SD60M and GP60M doubleheading 7:41 UP 7400, the pink ribbon unit 7:55 three NS units behind a BNSF leader 9:48 Loram grinder travelling caboose-first 12:06 715 has Santa Fe written on the front, but has BNSF on the sides 14:24 a lot of exhaust from that NS unit, and BNSF inspection cars on another track 16:02 UP 1111 leading 18:20 more GE units for Indonesia and Bangladesh (Indonesia has blue and orange locos, while Bangladesh has blue, red, and gold locomotives) 19:40 the trio of private cars from a few grab bags ago 23:12 nice to see aNew York and Atlantic unit on horseshoe Curve. NY&A does freight service on the LIRR network 23:54 two locomotives to pull NS 34 and 33 24:36 CMQ cowl unit, Soo Line and CP Rail ballast hoppers on the same train
Galesburg always has a lot of color in both directions. The 2:19 shot of the green dropping to red is just as nice as the hot air balloons that opened this video. Thank you for the flashing yellow drop to red in Ft. Worth @ 18:00...that's a new one for me.
Or it could have TH-cam competitive railfans showing some real initiative to get those overhead video shots in a different perspective than what drones can provide? lol
I was watching the Revelstoke cam this morning when the Central Maine and Quebec engine appeared. Tony V said it would be in the grab bag and he was right.
17:10 My uncle was in the sand dunes in CA and he flipped his razor 8 times down a hill. it was destroyed. He was fine, thankfully. hope they did not damage the tracks there, but....lol what are they going to do haha!
Don't exactly remember how many years I was advised that that train that is parked at the horseshoe curve has actually been parked there stationery but no matter how long it has been that train still looks in really good shape exactly how long has it actually been parked there stationery
Two comments! 1)the NY&A 151,was a Long Island MP15AC,enroute where?,and 2)those CP,multimarks, are from the New wave 1980's,as the CP,was undergoing an image revamp at the time! Never thought of them as game 🎮playing,ah well!! Thanks again for your time! 😇
NY&A 151 is headed for rebuild in KC from what I heard, would’ve went to Juniata shops in Altoona like the 155 & 159, but Altoona stopped foreign rebuilds so 151 is headed elsewhere.
Whoa never thought my local railroad would show up on virtual railfan!
Well that was a grab bag full of combinations of oddly satisfying trains.
I saw you in the Premiere
Great grab bag
Awesome grab bag especially the hot air balloons

The NYAR was going to Altoona shop to get rebuilt
Is that the dulcet tones of Danny Harmon on the opening ad? Great to see trainspotting collegiality.

Flashing yellow over red = advanced approach.
Good job those buggies didn't get stuck. Excellent video, well done 🤓 💙
I like the description. Grabbing the bag is always an unbeatable combination lol.
Now that was definitely a mixed grab bag for the ages
25:59 there's a good chance that those NS Dash-9's & that CSX AC4400CW are gonna be rebuilt.
Ikr.
Ever think about starting your own online railfanning publication? I think you would be great at it. You can call it Haase's House O' Trains.
Awsome Grab Bag Virtual Railfan!!

0:27 Was it Hot Air Balloon Day in Galesburg?? LOL

Draper Taper bonus. "Tony V" sounds like the name of a character out of a mafia movie lol.
He has a channel called Railfanning with Tony V. You should subscribe. He gets great footage.

I saw someone do to a Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor what was done to that car at 3:12.
It was NOT a good look.
Does it get any better than a Virtual Railfan Grab Bag and a Danny Harmon commercial intro?
If I would know about that New York and Atlantic engine was coming I would’ve went to Wilmerding to see it. Oh well
I hope NYA 151 will be coming back soon!?
The mp15ac and mp15 dc locos are so cool! That one was an ac.
Why was NY&A 151 @ 23:15 so far from home rails?
Because he’s get Rebuilt
Air balloon!!!?? 0:47
Now there's something you don't see everyday at 3:09.
Another great video !

That person or persons in that last razor that cross the tracks would've been toast if a train was coming.
@@norfolksouthernrailfan2006 True!
What is the fascination with signals turning red when a train enters the next block? That gets highlighted in a lot of grab bags.
It's a Donk in the wild !!

Danny Harmon on the into!!!!
3:09 Are horseless carriages coming back? 😂
