Chai tea is not a thing, its only chai. Chai basically translates to tea in english. so when you say chai tea, you are saying tea tea which is not correct. Its a term widely used in the west which is weird because its not correct.
For sure! In the west when you go to a shop that sells tea, they label it as “chai tea”…. I think it’s just to differentiate it from other teas. So yes I agree it isn’t technically correct, but for our friends/family in the west they may not have known the type of tea if we didn’t say it that way. Hahaha
For us, we have been hearing either chai (in Hindi) or tea ( English) since our childhood. It sounds like chai chai or tea tea. Chai and Tea are the same.
Good for you guys but for us it sounds repetitive. Been drinking chai for the last 30+ years but never came across this. Looks like someone in the west came up with this name unknowingly. There are 100s of varieties of Chai in India but listing down a few. Masala Chai... Ginger or adrak Chai. ... Cardamom or Elaichi Chai. ... Suleimani Chai. ... Noon Chai... Irani Chai.. Lebu Chai. ... Tulsi Chai... Ronga saah...

Lovely video. Thanks for dressing up respectfully in front of the locals. It’s a chai. Not chai tea. Also we will appreciate if you learn the correct pronunciations of the attractions. Also if you can afford to support the locals rather than just paying the low tickets costs which are meant for local Indian people. You are having a nice experience, just keep it at that and not call India a wild place. I find it amusing that foreigners think 300 rs is expensive. U should have spent the $7per person because you can afford.
Thank you! We are very happy you enjoyed the video! Next time we will try to do better on pronunciations! It can be a challenge as a foreigner, especially when you visit many different places and cultures that all do things differently.
Hi! Sorry we say this where we are from to different it between other teas, we don’t just call tea “chai” in English. Just a difference in language, no headaches intended! 😊
@@flyingdutchmanism I wouldn’t be upset about that at all. We’re from the USA, there are people from all over the world and tons of languages/cultural groups. It’s impossible to know every language and the nuances between them. If you want someone to learn one of those nuances about your own language/cultural norms, the best thing you can do is politely teach them.
The polite way to make your initial comment would have been: “hey, just so you know for the future it’s said this way”. Not “it gives me a head ache” And then after we apologized already, giving another example of “hey imagine someone did this to you! You’d be annoyed!” Gee I wonder how someone could have possibly pushed back? You’re making antagonizing comments! You’re creating a problem when there just isn’t one.

@@IfWeGoTo Thanks for the tip :) Any trouble in Delhi? I saw your troubles is Agra with the Rik-Saw.
@@LDE-B None that I can think of in Delhi!! I know many people struggle the most there, but it was our smoothest visit out of all the cities in India we went to!
one correction. There's nothing called Chai tea. It's either chai or tea. :)
Thank you!
If you went to Galtaji and did not click pics with the monkeys then the trip was incomplete.
Hahaha we definitely got some pics of the monkeys!
@@IfWeGoTo that's great but snaps with monkeys sitting on you would have been better. Anyway there is always a next time.
@@marcstylish-st1lw we don’t really like to touch wildlife.. they can be a bit unpredictable 😂 we’ve almost been attacked by monkeys on more than one occasion! Lol
@@IfWeGoTo Oic it is a psychological issue then. Usually monkeys in Indian and Nepali temples do not bite but you never know, similarly even with dogs. Ultimately it is good to travel safe at your comfort level and take risks which you want to.
@marcstylish-st1lw haha yes exactly!! You never know with wild or feral animals. I assume the ones at the temple are more accustomed to humans, but like you said - you never know!
And you will see lions on the roads in Gujarat ☺
Oh that would be amazing to see the lions!
Your sound went out midway, I think dust got into the mic when the elephant passed you by. but it seemed to have resolved itself later on.
Pretty neet, you checked out more than what the average person would have. What happened to the food. Laal maas, Kaand lamb, Kichori, Romali roti, Dal Bati Churma, mirchi bada, mohan maas, kalakand, pyazz ki kichori, ki Launji, Gujia, and many other epic dishes...
We were having some audio issues that day which is why we narrated much of the video, someone else mentioned it went out near the elephant section, but it plays there for us. 🧐 We will need to test out some other speakers.
Do you know how long it cuts out for???
Thanks so much for letting us know!! 😃
We loved the food! Unfortunately didn’t get to film much of it, we all have weak tourist guts and started getting sick around the time we filmed this. 😩
@@IfWeGoTo from 8:20-10:08 (you can hear it cut back in, some audio noise), not a big issue, as it was narrated on top.
@@IfWeGoTo oh and it cuts out at 10:55-11:00... again, no big issue, I had thought it was dust coming through, but maybe it was editing issues... all good.
We’ll check on it again!! Thank you so so much for your help! 🙏😃
Hahaha
Don't know what chai tea is. Never heard that before. It's either chai or tea.
In the US (and I think other western countries do it too) we refer to it as “chai tea” to differentiate it. Just a language difference. 🤷♀️
For us, we have been hearing either chai (in Hindi) or tea ( English) since our childhood. It sounds like chai chai or tea tea. Chai and Tea are the same.
Yes, but for english speakers it is different and we call it Chai Tea. :)
Sorry it sounds repetitive! I know language differences can cause a bit of confusion.
Thank you for the tips on all of the different varieties!!
Last vid you guys were on puffer jackets and now only on short sleeves
I'm student . I live in a rural village. Please message if you want to visit the rural village.
I live near Jaipur .
Oh we would have loved that so much!!! Unfortunately we’re a bit behind on videos so we left about a month ago 😭
Chai = Tea
So
Indian chai = Indian tea
😂😂😂
Please mind that 👍

The secret tunnel which u used to go jaigarh fort is the second tunnel . The main tunnel which for the king is locked now by the UNESCO .If u have taken any guide he would have shown u ..It is a complex maze to trick outside enemy ,only king knew the original path in that maze .
Ohh thank you for the insight! That is pretty cool!
Has anyone ever told u...you look like Ansel Elgort 👀
Hahaha yessss!! 😆 he gets a couple of comments every month saying that! They must have similar ancestry!
Chai = tea,
Tea = chai,
So i.e,
chai tea = chai chai or tea tea
kaisa laga jaipur
It was lovely ☺️
'Chai tea' means 'Tea Tea'. In Hindi, Tea means Chai.
Ahh awesome! Thank you! :D
Its alright, for westerners chai tea means Indian masala milk tea.
Ok so chai means tea so if you call it chai tea then it’s like saying tea tea.

Many tourists make this Mistake. Its not Chai Tea, its just Chai or Tea. Its like you are saying Chai Chai or Tea Tea.

I think india is not Delhi or Mumbai, there is lots of place in india with lots of beauty.
You should have to visit hill station like Manali,Shimla, himachal pradesh, kashmir, laddakh, darjiling, and north eastern part of India nagaland, Sikkim, arunchal pradesh famously known as Scotland of India....Delhi is not perfect place to visit.
Thank you for all of the recommendations!
It's only Chai or Tea. Chai means Tea. So you're essentially saying Tea, Tea.

Did you at any time wear traditional clothes saree, dhoti
Hi!! I wore a Kurta a lot! We would love to try more traditional clothing though, I think Indian garments are very beautiful! 😃
yoooou need a mask ? 1 month ago ??????is it mandatory
It is not! Alan is very sensitive to pollution and decided to wear them when it was bad or we were near roads.
There is nothing called chai tea....in India tea is called chai ..so both chai nd tea having same meaning

Please stop saying Chai-Tea! It gives me a head-ache.
Hi! Sorry we say this where we are from to different it between other teas, we don’t just call tea “chai” in English. Just a difference in language, no headaches intended! 😊
@@IfWeGoTo I understand lol but imagine a south asian coming to your country and calling Tea “Tea-chai” or calling Bread “Bread-naan” 😂
@@IfWeGoTo i’m not being impolite and neither am I upset. Not sure why you’re being so defensive. Its a simple comment made in jest.
The polite way to make your initial comment would have been: “hey, just so you know for the future it’s said this way”. Not “it gives me a head ache”
And then after we apologized already, giving another example of “hey imagine someone did this to you! You’d be annoyed!”
Gee I wonder how someone could have possibly pushed back? You’re making antagonizing comments! You’re creating a problem when there just isn’t one.
Don't call it Chai tea man.Chai in English is tea ,so you are basically saying tea tea😂😂.Maybe you should just call it Indian tea or Milk sugar tea.

Yeah I agree, even Starbucks have not changed their menu name Chai tea Latte even after having Indian origin CEO now 😂😂
I actually didn’t know that!! But yeah, I think it may confuse westerners if you just called it chai there!! 😂
Calling “chai”, “chai-tea” already disappointed me in the beginning of the video
Ahh sorry about that.. back home we call it “chai tea” to differentiate it from other teas. So just a misunderstanding due to language difference!
I was not impressed. Too overrated.
The Taj Mahal was really spectacular, but the pollution, congestion, lack of mobility unless you are on a motorized vehicle, was disappointing.
@@shumadev8334 India can be super challenging to travel in for sure, especially in the golden triangle I’ve heard. But I don’t know if anyone ever says it’s easy!! 🤣
