The way Claire defined beauty of the fort despite having such bad experiences tells how mature and down to earth she is. Sorry for the experiences you had. Surely as Indians we need to step up and make improvements in the system so that amazing people like you keep visiting and freely enjoy architecture, culture , food, etc. in your time in India 🇮🇳.

@@RhettandClaire you should have taken your car driver with yourselves to the Amber Fort, as he is a local, as well as served the purpose of a guide, thus saving you from the unnecessary harassment of the touts who are always in the lookout for making some money from Western tourists. Whenever these touts see a local with you, they shy from coming to u, knowing that there's someone (local) already with you guys.

Try to take some local friends in these kind of places where there's a lot of crowd & tourists because in those crowd you can bump into some of these stupid people who can ruin your experience.

I advise you to try the same idea like discuss about the place you are visiting with a local which will give you some idea about how to avoid locals who's trying to make money but with bad behaviour. Heyy im Lina from Germany and I currently live and work here in Jaipur 🙋‍♀️☺️ it was really interesting to see other foreigners real experiences with Jaipur because in the Videos I’ve watched so far everything was being romantasized and not the reality. Although Jaipur is a beautiful city it is really hard to live here as a foreign girl because of the constant attention laying on you. It feels like you are watched from everywhere and also very often filmed or photographed. I personally would recommend to cover your shoulders and legs as a tourist because that’s what’s making me feel safer ( it is not a must but my personal experience)
Many Indians are not used to see western people in real life, the only way they see them the most time is in movies or advertisements. That is why they are flashed if such a person that is normally just on the screen suddenly appears in their reality. Many are fascinated but at the same time many also want to make profit because they try to sell you everything at least double the price. India is a country of huge contrasts and my thoughts about this country are so far very mixed. But I try to stay open minded and if you are you can learn so much from this country and the people.
(PS: everything I wrote is not meant to be against Indians it is only my personal experience from the months I’ve been here☺️ )

Me being Indian in Amber Palace Jaipur is also asked 20 million times about Tourist Guide like constantly and we ended up taking one - he actually shares a lot of important info about those Marble Pillars- that it remains cold in every hot weather, Glassrooms- how it illuminates like starts in night with lamp, guides perfect spots to take pictures, and a lot of info about the kings and queens that how they lived in that palaces - their winter season room , summer season rooms ,their natural water heater, about those door painting which never been repainted after its made centuries ago but still looks new because its made of special vegetable colours ,took us to antique shops where Royals queens and kings dress like Sarees,dupattas- special material cloths were sold , etc etc , we also asked the guide that why the roads and Palaces/ Forts are not properly kept and painted as it is a World Heritage Site and guide said that due to covid lockdown Rajasthan tourism got bankrupt and for timebeing to tolerate it.

My question is the same why they are not painting the palace and outer area, they look dirty... i am really disappointed when we saw tourist places like delhi and rajasthan where mostly foreign tourist come.... no trash management, no cleanliness, no development, no guidelines, no respect to tourist always want to make them fool which is very annoying and disturbing as indian 🇮🇳......

There are places way beautiful than this even Switzerland but I fortunately the foreign tourists don't know about those.... Gangtok, Sikkim
Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya, Uttarakhand...etc have cold climatic conditions and some have snow throughout the year.
Please do visit those places, it's heavenly...
