Hey guys nice to see you both in my city, please don't miss the jaigargh Fort. And also Nahargarh Fort after sunset only when its dark. Do go on top of Nahargarh Fort on the terrace for the most mesmerizing view of the jaipur city.
      Have a great time.

The original name of the colour was Terracotta but since the British didn't know the colour they started calling this unique colour Terracotta pink and over time Terracotta vanished from the name and only pink remained.
It's fascinating how the history of small things can be so interesting.

This colour is actually geru colour. It's an ancient tradition to make beautiful patterns on walls of our houses with this colour during festivals and weddings.

In India , the terracotta colour is symbolical of welcoming a guest. When Prince of Wales came to Jaipur , the then king painted the entire city in terracotta colour . The Prince was unaware of the name of the colour , so when he saw the city , out of words he just said , “wow! The city is pink”, it was not likely that anybody would correct the Prince.
From then on Jaipur came to be known as the Pink city.

The clock system with different sun’s position is really amazing. Now I want visit Jaipur as soon possible to see there geography and history behind that geography. That would be very interesting. See you soon Pink city👋.

In India, Brahmagupta (AD 598) describes Kartari yantra, an equinoctial sundial, which operates on the same principle as the Samrat Yantra (the main dial). so all of these are based upon Ancient text and principles with a new twist by later generation.

You're doing what every foreign traveller does, doing the Delhi-Agra-Jaipur 'Golden Triangle'. Trust me, it's the most overrated thing and in no way can be called 'India' because it's all within 250Km radius. The Golden Triangle is simply a 3 day route designed by the tourism ministry back in the 90s for foreign diplomats, nothing else. India has 28 states(29 earlier), every state has unique culture, landscape, language and food. If you were to spend at least 2 days exploring a state, it would still take 60 days or 2 months.

if you like quiet places then North East India is nice for you. it is one of the real jewels of India undiscovered paradise among foreigners. people there look East Asian, full of tribes and great nature. although the culture has been changed due to half the population converted by Missionaries from UK and USA. still it is great place to visit. you will be surprised how clean n green it is and how simple the people are.

The name "pink city" is translated from the name in Hindi that is "gulabi nagri" ...when it was painted in this color the concept of color was not that broad like today so people from that time considered this color as gulabi (pink).

world first known sundial is also in India at Sun Temple in Konark Odisha. in the temple there are Chariot wheels which are actually sundials they give accurate time even today after 800 years the temple was built. most of the temple complex have been totally destroyed by foreign invaders but remaining part have more adult statues than any other indian temple remaining. the temple also has many beautiful educational sculptures for all ages. there were huge magnets placed in the temple which made main Idol of the Sun deity to float in the air without any support for centuries before they were destroyed by invaders. it is one of the most beautiful architecture.

That is why Indians take so much pride in its civilization and history. Many a things Indian theorists and scholars decoded way to earlier than west and rest of the word did... Even till date charaka, sushruta, panini, varahamihira, kalidasa and many many other scholars are celebrated in India. Even though Britain colonised us but could take our roots away from us... But alas for them we are a 3rd world country despite being one of the oldest, richest and so invaded and colonised civilization!!

The king who created the Jantar Mantar is Jai Singh. He is the builder of the city of "Jai"pur itself. The city was built as home to the Radha Govind deities present in the temple beside the City Palace. Those deities used to be in Vrindavan, in Mathura district. But to escape the destruction by a Mughal King they were brought to this place and King Jai Singh honoured them by building a new city. Jai Singh was a very intelligent person and is nicknamed "Sawai" Jai Sing which means a person with the intellect of a one and a quarter person.

please visit Ranakpur Jain temple and Kumbhalgarh Fort near Udaipur in rajasthan.
Ranakpur Jain temple is best and most beautiful architecture remaining in North India. the temple has 1444 columns each one of them looking different than others with intricate details. the audacious architect built it such way that if you remove any one column the entire Temple must come down. that too was done at a time when other parts of India was under foreign rule and thousands of temple were getting destroyed. Temple has a total of 84 underground chambers built to protect idols of the deities from destruction. its over 600 years old but still looks like it was built yesterday.
Kumbhalgarh Fort has the second longest wall in the world after Great Wall of China.

best part of India is the picturesque Himalayas in North, after that rich in culture South, diverse North East ind, beautiful western India and Central India. but foreigners generally visit northern plains in India which is the roughest, toughest and not that beautiful part of the country.

It's neither orange, pink or peach. It's more a terracotta colour, however back during those days terracotta colour was not defined and hence the close colour pink acquired the definition of the city.

The guy from the snacks shop told the name of the snack is "Fry" which I personally don't think it is right.
Many Indian snacks have regional Hindi names which is actually not possible to tell in English because the name is based on Hindi only.
I also think that the shopkeeper knows the Hindi name but as he couldn't figure out the English name of it, he just gave you the idea that these are "Fry" items or something like that.
Please do correct me if you think that I am not right on this or if I missed out something.
