I had TKR Jan. 25, and your videos were very helpful to me in recovery. You’re obviously incredibly respectful of your patients and your TH-cam audience. My other knee will have a TKR April 25, and I’ll continue to think of your videos as a valuable supplemental source of experience and wisdom. Thank you for easing my way through the journey!

anyone who has seen many of your videos as well as been GREATLY helped by them, (often more than our own P.T.'s), have come to trust your process. It has never steered me wrong. One of the most uncomfortable tx's is when a buggered tendon gets rubbed deeply, only to be followed by pain relief. It feels counter at the time, but the proof is in the pudding. Keep up the great work.

I have also learned that where I think the pain is may not actually be where it manifested from. I trust my PT enough to allow him to move and manipulate the leg in ways to figure out where the pain is, what might be the cause and what specific exercises or therapy techniques will help. He uses the concept of right up to pain but not past it. That means uncomfortable at times but I also need to allow him to push me. I won't push myself as far and I need him to work it more than I can or will. I appreciate that you shared this comment with us, although I thought it was over the top, and your thorough explanation.

It was nice of you to clarify and explain yourself but IMO it wasn't necessary. When you are going through knee replacement and therapy there are going to be numerous times that something is uncomfortable and other times outright hurts. The scraping process at PT for me was very painful but the next day my knee felt much better. I really appreciate your videos and I just passed the 4 year anniversary of my replacement. Your videos were a tremendous help before surgery, during PT and I continue to subscribe and watch them now. My surgery went great, I worked hard in PT and last year I put over 4,600 miles on my bike without any pain or swelling. I am so grateful to have my active lifestyle back after years of suffering.
I trusted my therapist and let them do what they feel needed to be done. I have the same trust in you and your videos. You have no idea how many people have helped through this process.

why do I have pain when I stand up and walk, putting weight on it? the pain is in the knee and in the thigh, if I press on the muscles. I have a thickening and like a lump right above the knee where it meets with the femur. They say the inaging looks fine, its been almost 2 years. The surgeon says I need a hip replacement! i dont know if i should have it

I also had TKR 7 1/2 weeks ago on my right knee. After week 4 I was discharged from my first PT center due to my flexion was 137 °and 0 extension. Unfortunately there was nothing else they could do for me to progress my recovery. Therefore now waiting on my next stage of PT (Weight strengthening training) from another facility. In the meantime, I am doing my own exercises, stretching, step ups, sit to stands, bike riding 30 mins or 4-5 miles, and walking for 1 1/4 mile each once a day. I also massage my leg with vitamin E and also dry. For the past week or so I have had restless leg. Mostly at night. It runs from mid thigh all the way down to my ankle. Is this common and how long could/should I expect it to last? I also have pain on the outside of my knee. I'm guessing it's ligaments that are tight. Because when I do stretching it works itself out for the most part. Any elaboration on that would be greatly appreciated as well.
Love your videos and thank you for taking the time to read this and or respond back.

Hi Mark, sounds like you are doing really great. Pain on the outside of the knee can be several things. ITBand pain, lateral collateral ligament pain, fibular head pain, etc. I have other videos that talk about these on the channel.
Good luck getting back to pickleball. It is a very popular sport her in Cincinnati.

Let's say, my right knee is hurting, I will take my left knee and rub it gentle for a few minutes.
The pain goes away. ( this is trial and error ) .
