    I was a lifelong GMC person until I traded my 2008 GMC Sierra on a 2012 Toyota Tundra... Now I'm a Toyota person still happy with it 7 years later!

    My first truck.. Toyota Tundra Platinum 5.7 V8... This thing is a beast.. and I was shocked to learn it can do 0-60mph in under 7 seconds!!.. not even many of the BMWs can do that.

    I've owned 4 rams. I got really tired of buying transmissions and front axles. My '06 leaked water into the cab. I switched to tundra. I'm happy. Checked value of it recently ,still good. Never buying domestic truck again. Ever.

    I never had a single problem on my first truck, the 2013 Toyota Tundra Crewmax since I bought it new. The 5.7 V8 iforce engine has lots of power. With Grabber AT2 Tires and Radiant Red color just like this it looks good. Reliable and built tough, made in the USA. 👊

    LOVE Toyota trucks! My first was an '84 4x4 long bed. Bought it when I was stationed in Guam for $7,700 brand new. GREAT Truck!

    Best 1/2 Ton on the market hands down. Can't wait till they establish enough of reputation as a full size truck manufacturer to have the customer demand for a Diesel model.

    I went from always buying GMC Sierra's to the Tundra and I'm glad I did!

    I have a 2008 5,7L Tundra with the "freedom cab" and an 8' box. Very very practical for work. It is a big truck and like its classmates is hard to park and it takes some care to drive it on smaller roads. My only beef is with the gas consumption. Fuel here in Canada is expensive, the last fill cost me $ 120 and, with that 3/4's gone the odometer has recorded 350 kilometers. I'll be lucky to total 450 by the time the tank is empty. I don't have a heavy foot I must mention. Great truck otherwise.

    I couldn't help noticing my home town! even though i no longer live there there is no mistaking those streets. Hello Bakersfield. As far as the review goes, it was a good one. im more of a ford guy but i know how to appreciate a good vehicle. i would also go with its smaller brother, i would appreciate a mid-size truck more, as i dont really need a full size truck. besides most mid-size trucks now a days are huge themselves.

    People need to remember the Tundra is the only truck that follows the new SAE standard for tow ratings, I don't believe the american trucks do yet.

    I can't lie the first time I drove and road in a tundra I was disappointed. That thing beat me up. My old boss had some kind of Texas road house edition. And I was like this thing ride better than my avalanche?? So lay behold a few years later I pull up in his yard with 11. Man did he talk about me. But he did show me a lot about the tundra. And now I'm in love with her

    There is a serious problem with Kelley. Their guides are NOT region-specific which makes a HUGE difference in the values of 4x4 and AWD vehicles. There is a very good reason nearly all dealers at wholesale auctions use the region-specific NADA guidebook rather than KBB.

      Lol, true. Also, I’ll take the lower MPG over the $1,000 spark plug job on the F-150.

      Durk Durkgang Even if the Tundra was not made in America I will still buy it because I prefer spending my money on something that's dependable and reliable in the long run.

    The tundra has a 5.7 iforce not a hemi that is in the ram and other chrysler products...

    • @louie4316
      @louie4316 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tails Luigi almost every modern engine is a "hemi." Mopar back in the muscle car era called their V8 a Hemi, short for a hemispherical design combustion chamber.

    Toyota should have spent less time trying to make this truck drive like a sports car and spent more time more time making it strong. A stiff chassis and and weak, non fully boxed frame(unlike all american competitors) are a terrible combination in the rough stuff. I don't know how the tundra managed a +10,000 lb towing rating.

  • @RCWeldingsgarage
    @RCWeldingsgarage 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I own a welding business and I travel alot welding in the new home construction. Two reason that would deter me from buying a tundra is the gas milage and weak frame. Otherwise I think this is a great truck for reliability.. But for everyday construction and work American trucks take the win. Keep in mind American trucks are thirsty too but I just think they're built sturdier a better suited to take a beating at construction sites. I mean I can buy decent condition used ford f150 for a couple thousand bucks maintain it for a couple thousand more for repairs and maintenance and get rid of it after 3 to 4 years and do it all over again. Tundra will cost you a minimum of 20k for a decent model and you won't want to kill the truck for work because it cost to much money. So for me it just doesn't make sense.

  • @rangerover06sc
    @rangerover06sc 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    It could be if it wasn't for the fact that the Tundra has by far the most poorly engineered frame compared to all the other american trucks. There is also EPA fuel estimates.

    no. maybe assembled in america, butt i bet the parts are cast and machined in japan. plus japan gets all the money and they are the ones who engineer it, not america.

    16 mpg city, 20 highway? That's TERRIBLE. Any diesel could do better, for example the diesel V8 that powers the European Toyota Land Cruiser V8.
