Haha, your other contestant calls the contest a collaboration, you call it a competition. You two are both geniuses and plant nerds like your fans. Have fun😉
You guys are making my year with this series... hysterical ..😂😂😂. So much fun😂. I've had to go back and forth to the videos and watch them twice to catch up.. I'm convinced he sabotaged that leaf while you were on vacay🤨🧐.
I'm so glad to hear that you like this series. I love making and watching them too! He definitely killed off that leaf. I'm just happy it was one leaf and not the entire plant that turned to dust haha 😂
Omg i literally cackled when you pushed away that bottle! 😂 I knew I would learn a lot (plus I just like watchingnyour channels), but I'm so glad y'all are making this fun!
I used my daughter's little sticker printer for the biohazard ☣️ symbol. I was dying when I put it on there. Later that day my son asked why is the soap a biohazard hahahaha
@@EverythingPlants if your kids and Matt's kids don't become botanists and biologists, I'm going to be shocked. My kids are already into it! My daughter reads about plants in bed, and my son did a report on plants hahaha oops!
Just loving the Great Pothos Race!...and all the accompanying advice. That's fantastic progress ~ there's something so rewarding about seeing those anchoring roots and cute 'caterpillar feet' when they start attaching to the support. It shows the plant is very happy :)
Great video. Ever thought of building a simple wooden box to set the pot in to provide extra stability? Could even be a 3-sided “table” shape with a hole in top to accommodate the pot and straddle the saucer.
Cool idea on the IV setup 😄! And the sabotages are entertaining as well 😂! It looks like that pothos has already latched on real well! Just a matter of time now for some big leaves!
Your note about being careful not to knock the roots off reminded me that I did do that with my own pothos on a plank recently. I was so happy that the most recent leaf had sized up, too! I saw the other commenters’ notes about using pins or nails to keep the plant straight, and I may do that too. It had been leaning toward the side before I nudged it accidentally.
No need to change pots. Set the current pot into a larger pot and fill the gap around it with stone to give it the weight it needs. You'll still have some airflow around the stones, but you'll be much more secure.
Your plant appears healthier and more lush than Matt's (at this time😊) I cant believe yall have dealt woth thrips, spider mites and mealies in just 3 months time! This series is fantastic fun and I look forward to each update! Love your channel, Jeff !
Not bad, given all of the sabotage you’ve had to deal with! 😂 I’m thinking you should be stealing his plastic wrap idea to get those aerial roots to get a bit bigger.
The IV bag water system is a great idea.
Thanks!

It's both a collaboration and a competition hahaha 🤣

This series is going to be massive succes 😅 great humor in it aswell.
I think I can speak for both of us when we say it's a ton of fun!
Oh that saboteur🤣🤣
Nice progress. Go Jeff go!!
Headed over to Techplant now.
Thanks again for watching!
Love your channel. So informative! Also love this friendly plant battle 😂
Glad you enjoy it!

Thanks so much for watching, Joanna!

That's a great idea, Chris! I will be upsizing the pot very soon
You guys are so much fun, biological warfare 😂 making your dog drink the water. Loving this so much ❤😂
As the stem grows in width it looks more woody
Well he did get sick and my dog did drink the water so one can only assume

Thanks for watching and I'm hoping the next leaf is a big one or at least bigger
I use enteral feed bags instead of IV lines to drip feed my moss poles. So much easier as the bag is already attached and re fillable
Love the humor😂
Haha...thanks!
I love this competition & hope u 2 will do more things like this in the future!
🤎 ur channel❣
You can count on it!
Fun and funny video. Keep the battle up! 😂
We will be victorious!

It needs to be upsized as I'm seeing roots at the bottom already....so it's time!
@@EverythingPlantsoh! Fantastic! I was thinking you were going to risk repotting just for stability, but yeah, if it's ready, obviously do it!
Having fun watching the contest. The only downside is you both are such great guys it has to end in a tie!😂
There will be no ties.... There will be a winner and a loser lol
Fantastic progress!
Don't like this comment, Jeff!!! It's a voodoo trick. I got your back 🫡
Good call....it's some sort of mind hypnosis or something
Love the great Pothos Race 🎉🎉😀🇨🇦

Thanks so much! I actually forgot to mention the thrips issue. It seems to have stopped as I've been spraying the plant down quite frequently
Maybe try putting a push pin next to the stem to keep it growing straight.
Guide it straight....nice idea 💡 Thanks
I do that and it works really well.
@@debbibowen good to know! Thanks
Are you both on Instagram? I just added the pins and this footage (along with this comment) will be in the next video! Thanks so much
😂 I love this competition
Thanks so much!
What about some small finishing size nails in a row on each side to act as bumpers?
Yes! I actually just did this with pins 📍 It will be in the next video, along with your comment!
@@EverythingPlants cool!
What kind of wood you are using?
The one in the video is cedar. It is from my kids dismantled playhouse lol. I have also used pine slats from my kids old bunk beds
Over here from Matt… this is so fun I am going to play at home 😂❤
Hey! Welcome and thanks for following this fun series!
@@EverythingPlants I want my pothos leaf as big as my head! I thought I was doing good with my palm size leaves…. I had no idea they get so big! 🤯
Are you running up and down the stairs all the time to adjust the flow of the water.
It's good exercise at least
This race is fun to watch. To see what both of you are accusing the other of doing to sabotage the other one.
He's totally trying to sabotage my setup
cover the bag with dark rag perhaps that way it don't get hit with the light etc
Ya, I thought about covering it but I'm lazy haha
this is so fun
I'm glad you think so because we're having a blast as well
Yes, I'm on Instagram. I'll follow you there also.
I was going to show you the pins lol
When Is the Next video
Hopefully soon!!!
Secure it before it twists around the plank.
Already done!
💜💜

💚🌱
planks, i.v. bags, dripper clamps..... instead of a moss pole watered quickly w/a baster every 2-3 days... work harder, not smarter!!
Just trying to make some fun content!
