It's been quite a while since I created FF9 remix (or any remix for that matter). I've been very sick for nearly a year now, so it took several months just to get this one finished! I've always wanted to make this arrangement, and I played with it in my mind on and off over the years. It feels good to finally get it done. The original Final Fantasy 9 soundtrack was composed by Nobuo Uematsu. This track was nominated and voted for by my patrons on Subscribestar. The Terra and Bran Bal themes from FFIX were magical.

The Terra leitmotif in IX is absolutely sublime. Uematsu sprinkling it throughout the game just gives the reveal more impact.

I always love the way the raised 6th sounds in this theme. It gives the an air of wanderlust and just the right amount of off balance. I hope you're able to find more balance soon!

This is one of my favorite themes!
To me, it feels like how the theme might sound with a return to Terra after the main story. It's so similar to Bran Bal. I can imagine the mages and genomes together. As if the singer was a genome who found more beauty in life...and sings it.
Typing this out I like the singer now. At first I disliked it. It either grew on me, or in this new light, it just sounds more at home.
9s fusion of themes and undercurrent of similiraities is magical. I love the strings. I'm probably rambling but FFIX felt the most like a fantasy story to me.

@@RebeccaETripp Unfortunately not -- at least until now. I hope I remember to ask a friend to record it, preferably the next time we're in a church, since the acoustics _does_ matter for that instrument.

"Terra" and "You're Not Alone" got me through the final stretch of FFIX way back when I first played it (over twenty years ago, oh my...). My interest in the game had been flagging since the big ado in Alexandria and I even stepped away from the game for several months. Came back, immediately reached this part of the game and was propelled right to the very end by the music alone.
And this version is even prettier than that one.
Great but the last boss was still just confusing.
You really like the word "Terra" in video games, don't you?
It's actually something of a coincidence. It's more that a lot of songs in the Final Fantasy series happens to have Terra in them!
