Purplepuppet The creations of Japan, especially anime and games, have been the moral Mr Miyagi's or Yoda or whoever is your guy, of so many of us. I learnt to not give up by watching Bleach, I learnt to care about people from Naruto, I learned what adventure is from RPGs. If japanese game and anime were just slightly incorporated into school systems all over the world, just about 30 minutes a day, the world would be in peace.

Nobuo Uematsu is genius. I met him at Distant worlds. Such a happy and inspiring man. He is everything you hear in his music. " When we heard it play a little later in the night, I cried. It holds so much sentiment!

How I wanted to live... Thanks for giving me time to think. To keep doing what you set your heart on... It's a very hard thing to do. We were all so courageous... What to do when I felt lonely... But I guess we all have to say goodbye someday. Everyone... Thank you. Farewell. My memories will be part of the sky..." - Vivi
Hearing this in the car in FFXV brought me back here, and this rendition instantly brought me to tears. The generation that grew up with Final Fantasy learned so many positive lessons and values from these games at a time when they weren't recognized as anything but a childish waste of time by most of our parents. It's funny to think how deeply wrong that notion was. These games are master works of art, easily surpassing the depth of many other mediums, and more than that, they bring out the best in all who are touched by them. I'm thankful that they will always be a part of me.
Christopher Wilbanks hearing your description is exactly how I have always felt. Especially about people believing there is no significant value because it's a silly waste of time, it's just a video game. It's not though, these games teach about sacrifice, love, selflessness, honor, overcoming fear and doubt and doing the right thing just because! That is why these games have the following they do. Just wish modern games would grasp this concept of a game being more than just a game.
They are definitely special games. Archetypal myth and wisdom, heroes journey etc. Tremendous presentation and music. The FF series is one of the most important games, it is the definition of iconic and classic in the medium. Some games are great, some are popular, some are great and popular, these are beloved all over the world.
Thankfully i got great parents , and my dad was the one leading me into the world of games . I grew up playing all those adorable and creative pieces … i got inspired in so many ways , and i still love them . im thankfull my dad could give his Passion of Video gaming and Music to the next 2 Generations , and if i will ever get the Chance to tell others how impressive , and Beautiful those "old games" are and were , i will do it . I got the Chance to see the Distant Worlds Final Fantasy Orchestra 3 times live , and it has been the most beatiful Music ive ever seen and heard live . it touched me in so many ways , and i barely could Held my Tears back at every piece of it , aswell as susann calloway was singing … its worth every hard earned Gil - and id recomend it by anytime again ! - Greetings
You are right .. Final Fantasy and chrono cross tought us too much beautiful things .. Thanks for japaness , they are really great people to creat such positive games ..all the respect and love for japan ... They are really genius and creative , they are using the anime and video games to transfer postive things to us and teach us the humanity and the precious values .
FF IX brings me back to a time when my mother was still alive. Hearing this music is an emotional challenge am happy to take. This is just beautifull, thank you to the Orchestra. Thank you
FF IX taught me how to treat others, and taught me that we all have our own rolls however small it is. Every life in itself has its sginificance. You might laugh at me if I'd say that a TV game taught me a philosophy of life. I'm pretty sure, however, I'm not alone.
+Wataru Hayase That's beautiful. Thanks for sharing your story. I think what moved me the most about FF9 is how we fear death. Some people, like Kuja were so afraid to die it drove him to do insane, evil things in order to prevent it. In the end I felt so sorry for him, because he felt so alone and had no hope. He was the real victim. If he were not so afraid, would he still have been a villain? And nope, you are not alone. I appreciate you.
I think this is the true force of this game, being able to touch every player dealing with such intimate subjects. Every final fantasy offered us deep theme and very-well built characters and worlds, but this one goes deeper into the human heart...
To me FF IX is the best because it is most humane. There is no single pure evil character and even though it's handling themes like death the way it handles them is so unbelievably humane. And Uematsu's music captures perfectly that humanity.
@@brotheralaric7177 Yeah, but Brahne was living an anguished life, Garnet states that she changed after her husband's death, and they had also lost their natural child. She sought destruction living in despair, just as Kuja.

Those four disks are the embodiment of my childhood. I remember coming home from school, doing my homework, and jumping on ffIX to experience the next beautiful moment.
it was after i had finished ten... and i somehow found an old copy of nine in a walmart old games bin (on the way from minnesota back to texas in some hick town; not a place youd expect to buy ffix which was probably why i found it. those two games will forever embody ff as a series to me.
To this day, this video has brought me to tears. So much emotion and memories of a simpler time. I miss the blissful ignorance I had once as a kid and I will always remember the phrase “you don’t need a reason to help people”
Just before the second chorus you see he calms down a bit and goes a bit limp like he is trying not to give away the big ending he knows is going to be epic
I played through this part again last night. The song, the story, the resolution - it all gave me goosebumps again. Final Fantasy IX is my favourite game of all time.
FFIX was a way of life for me. I rented it over and over from blockbuster. It taught me how to be a good person. I still know every characters quote to this day. “You don’t need a reason to help someone”. You’re not alone. I’m with everyone who has ever felt alone. I’ll always be there for you.
This is played when Zidane has given up. He has no idea what he is doing and is just plowing forward to his death. But his friends show up and refuse to give up on him If only we could practice this more in the real world
This conductor is everything that a conductor should be. I've heard it said that with professional musicians like this, you really don't NEED a conductor - they're perfectly capable of playing the piece in unison without the baton. But this guy... he's not exactly directing the music, he IS the music. And that's how I want to live my life... I am not directing the music, I AM the music. We are part of it, it is part of us! So what is the difference? You are not alone! This brought tears to my eyes today.
I'll never forget this song and the moment in FFIX that it accompanied. It was such an incredible moment, both heartbreaking and beautiful to see Zidane try to forsake his friends and handle the burden himself. But after everything he's done for them, they'd never let that happen. It was wild to see one of the most positive main characters in the entire Final Fantasy universe take a turn and really hit rock bottom, only to have his friends save him.
This has gotten me through so many hard times. Whenever I lose all hope and feel like I have no one. I listen to this song to remind myself how far I've come and how many people care about me and want me to succeed and knowing that I can't let them down and I feel strong for relying on others instead of weak. I realize just how strong I am everytime I hear it. Have a good cry and get back on my feet and try again. This song has a deeper meaning to me than I could possibly put into words.
i'm same the Experience as you but when my ex broke up with me because of her father, i was upset, when she started dating with someone that her father allowed to, i've felt rage and anger. but later on i realized what i'm acting, so i started moving on and i've started to listen to this music to remind me that i'm not alone.
I have never played FF9, but youtube decided that I may like it and... I absolutely love this piece of music! It is so good and epic! It is on my list now.
17 years ago, and still resonate so strongly in my heart, I keep time to time coming back to this spectacular performance, So beautiful that it would smooth the soul of anyone listening to it. Thank you for sharing it...
The original was very conflicting in nature as it emphasized Zidane's confusion about who he really was. This one is very nostalgic and somewhat mournful at the same time. It's starts off almost as if it's trying to bring back a sad memory and then trying to showcase the good hiding beneath it towards the end. Both are great in their own right, and it only showcases the fact that Nobuo Uematsu is one of the greatest composers in video game history! Thank you Uematsu for having shared your musical talents in one of the most popular video game and video game franchises we have ever seen!
I agree. The original was really conflicting. It was part sorrow and despair, and (at least what I got from it) anger and frustration. This version gave a bit of a different feel. They seem to do this often when transferring Uematsu's work to a full orchestra medium, in order to make full use of the ensemble. This time it worked beautifully, but other times not so much. Sometimes it totally alters the mood for which the music was originally written. Like with "Aeris Theme". The original track was the musical manifestation of pure sorrow and grief. All the instruments wept in heart wrenching harmonies as if the world has lost the only thing pure that was left in it. The orchestral remake is all bombastic, full of timpani rolls and piatti crashes. I thought that was a total botch.
It's been several days I think about end my life. But I read some One Piece, listened to this music and remembered my friends. That, somehow, saved me from myself. EDIT1: Quick update guys, one year after I've watched this live in the distant worlds concert here in Brazil. I've been through one year therapy and thanks to my friends and my therapist I could give a new meaning to my life. It's a new begining for me. I wish the best for you all, there's always a chance to change!!
You have great taste my friend. My favourite anime is One Piece and my favourite game is FF9. There's something beautiful about these stories of courage, justice and friendship. I'm glad you're still with us and hope you continue to find inspiration in things. Best of luck.
one of the best story ever written and we had the luck of playing it, this makes me cry and all the people that really loved any of the games of the saga will understand me when they grow and they see that there isn't anything like this out there.
Exactly, the current final fantasy games are trash compared to FF9. The game, the story, the feels, the emotion, the love, the sadness, the music... Perfect game.
@@Oleg_Ivanov. Gamers nowadays? Well, I am 28 and I have played my first Final Fantasy at the age of 8 years old, so I think I have the capability of comparing since I started with FF7, 8 and 9. I am talking about the Final Fantasy atmosphere, the 13, 13-2, 13-LR and 15 (which I all finished) are good games, but very very bad Final Fantasy. The last good "Final Fantasy" was FFX.
@@HamZa-mm2im , i'm 32 and started to play videogames in a little more conscious age. FFIX was my first FF which i love one of the most( and that's one of the obvious reasons why i'm here on this thread (: ). I finished practically all main lineup. Online ones are waiting for me, and by what those who embraced these games said, especially about FFXIV, they are amazing too. And from what i saw and heard in terms of music these praises are true. I don't know what "Final Fantasy Atmosphere" even means because all games of franshise were supposed to be different from each other. And that's exactly what creators are doing with each part of the series. And all i can say about some sense of Final Fantasy is that i personally for myself can perfectly sense it in FFXIII and FFXV. Amazing music, amazing art, amazing universes where games take place, beatiful ccinematography, detailed characters with their individualities (like it or not, it's there), touching stories about eternal values. That's Final Fantasy sense for me. Maybe for me it wasn't enough to some decree in FFXII, but it was the game of highest quality that too is part of my personal sense of Final Fantasy. And maybe i can find all that wasn't enough for me in my second playthrough after these years just like it was with practically every game of the series. And that's too part of my definition what Final Fantasy means: these games never fully discovered for you in first and maybe even second playthrough. Even if you very loved some game of the series from the start, it opens for you much more when you return to it, and with age it especially obvious. These games are much deeper than it seems from the first look because they are created by intelligent and talented people. So for me, practically nothing changed with Final Fantasy for all these years (: .
Uma música cativante e que emociona o coração mais duro. A mais linda prova de amizade que uma melodia de Nobuo Uematsu conseguiu deixar!!Essa versão ficou perfeita!
this was a great scene: when zidane realised he was worthless to the world because he could have been what Kuja- but his friends would not give up on him no matter how down in that depressive spiral he was. Honestly taught me so much about life.
Seriously, i cry when i hear this beautiful song, is like a reminds of a thousand memories in the past, but i feel happy when i hear this :) LOVE IT SO MUCH!
FFIX was the first of the series i had ever played, I have been a huge fan ever since. This song always gives me a shiver down my spine, the memories just come flooding back. When this plays it one of the darkest part of the whole game.
I have loved this song ever since I first completed the game what must be 20+ plus years ago but what caused me to comment was how damn happy the conductor looks
This game beats 7 by a mile for me. Much more endearing characters and especially scenes and songs which this takes place. A very good orchestral version of it too!
Bahamut/Charizard465 I've played this this game about 100 times, but just listening to the music makes me want to play the game again! That's how good the OST is!
Omg 100%! This is much better than 7,even it is a good game on its own, 9 did so many more things to add to the 'fantasy' experience. It will always be my second favorite game! ^^
Collin , it would have to be Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire. They are the games that started my gaming life, and they bring back so many amazing memories.i just love them so much! ^^

But his friends show up and refuse to give up on him
If only we could practice this more in the real world
Ya just don't know what You are saying...
I need to replay all of this
Indeed m8 indeed
DreamingOfInsanity Best commment I've seen. Soo true man! Love and peace to you my fellow brother🙏🌌❤📚
go help your friends. You can practice this in the real world.
色褪せない名曲。最高ですね。
これはアレンジも良い。
素敵な 独りじゃないを聴かせて頂き ありがとうございます👏 RE_PRAYで 独りじゃない という素敵な曲を知りました😊
This is my all time favorite FF track. Which is truly saying something given the amount of amazing compositions. Simply beautiful
I felt the same chills I had so many years ago when I first heard this song and saw this scene. May Final Fantasy never die
Maybe the best track of FinalFantasy saga, simply beautiful!!
+Antonio Di Rocca What about Terra's theme from FF6? That shit is so beautiful it gives me the creeps
+MrTaushaman AGree. Terra's theme from FFVI is very deep and beautiful.
"You don't need a reason to help people" is a quote that FF9 gave me that I will carry to my grave
This song has a deeper meaning to me than I could possibly put into words.
you are not alone!
i'm same the Experience as you but when my ex broke up with me because of her father, i was upset, when she started dating with someone that her father allowed to, i've felt rage and anger. but later on i realized what i'm acting, so i started moving on and i've started to listen to this music to remind me that i'm not alone.
I hope you're still going strong.
I can't hold back my tears.
Work of art.
Masterpiece.
Genius.
Pureness.
I have never played FF9, but youtube decided that I may like it and... I absolutely love this piece of music! It is so good and epic! It is on my list now.
I love the conductors expression at 3:28! He is loving the music, wonderful!
17 years ago, and still resonate so strongly in my heart, I keep time to time coming back to this spectacular performance, So beautiful that it would smooth the soul of anyone listening to it. Thank you for sharing it...
Yeah, nearly 15 years later and this is one of the best songs ever composed for final fantasy. I still have this burned on a CD from high school
この曲を聴くと本当に涙が出る😭
I thought that was a total botch.
i think nobuo would make any great composer from any time period proud
This might be the single greatest song in the entire FF canon. I want to hug my friends and forgive my enemies. We are not alone.
3:28 i love the conductor is very excited for that cymbal drop
The way ff7 was remade & rebirthed I would happily to see ff9 regurgitated in any form
Nobuo Uematsu is the undisputed musical master of video games. This isn't even up for debate.
02:15 Second trumpet "What am I doing with my life"
XD hahahahaha that face though
XD You made my day !!!
mommozz123 haha. Christ that made me laugh!
lol, this makes my day, hahahaha
LMAO
I legitimately want this piece to be played at my wedding one day. It's so beautiful! 😭
This is the most beautiful music of all Final Fantasy.
More than 15 years alter and it still makes me cry.
Beautiful.
序盤の抑えの効いた演奏からの中盤、終盤へかけての盛り上げ方が原曲版とは違った良さがありますね。本当に素晴らしいです。
this is art, i cannot even describe how grateful i am
Feeling lost in this world, it is great to return here and see: i am not alone.
I love seeing the enthusiasm of people doing something they are truly passionate about. This is a masterpiece. Well done sir.
We are not alone guys, have faith.
I COULDNT CAUSE I STILL HAVE TO REPAY MY PARENTS. MAKE THEM AS HAPPY AS I CAN CAUSE ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THEYRE GONE.
@@HamZa-mm2im , no, they are equally amazing. Gamers nowadays don't appreciate what they have.
@@Oleg_Ivanov. Let just say, we have different opinions then. Matter of perspective.
Glad to see an old FF lover.
goosebumps and teary eyes, every single time

this was a great scene: when zidane realised he was worthless to the world because he could have been what Kuja- but his friends would not give up on him no matter how down in that depressive spiral he was. Honestly taught me so much about life.
i know im 5 years late, but hello, fellow cactuar!

First time Ive heard this was 11 years ago...still moves me to tears. Its just so beautiful....it really fucking is!!!!
I have loved this song ever since I first completed the game what must be 20+ plus years ago but what caused me to comment was how damn happy the conductor looks
This game beats 7 by a mile for me. Much more endearing characters and especially scenes and songs which this takes place. A very good orchestral version of it too!
And Tetra Master x3
Bahamut/Charizard465 I agree; This and FF8 will always be my favorite in the series.
seguirán pasando los años y cada vez que lo veo sigue poniéndose los pelos de punta!
完璧すぎる

FF9やりたくなるね!
Zidane...you are not alone. You will always have your friends, you are always by ourside. So we will also backs you up no matter what.
This is the most beutiful performance of this song I have ever seen on youtube. I'm glad there are things like Final Fantasy in our wourld.
3.26 its soo good when he calls out the percussion and fix his hair straight afterwards. Soooo good!!!
I cant help but get emotional everytime I hear this song
I really love this version, it’s very different, captures the same essence though.
Wow! The conductor seems to be having a blast! It makes this piece even better!
One of the best FF songs for me..
Without a doubt ^.^
Just played through again... and yep, song's still awesome.
yes it is
