    As a basketball fanatic, I absolutely delight over European exposure, they certainly play beautiful and seemingly fluid basketball, I ponder on if the Warriors take some tips from European play styles, seeing as how their prominent play style is predicated on ball-movement, high octane cutting and screening. Also something very underrated is Coach Kerr's uncanny ability to call beautiful inbound plays, and of course the players aptitude and abilities to execute those plays. I wonder if there exists a more in-depth analysis of the Warriors playbook by Coach Nick, would relish in seeing that, also more European videos as well. Love your videos, always insightful, and the ad placement always humorous and effective.

      the Knicks actually need a good roster first. KP won't be getting touches or making them count if his wing teammates can't be a threat to shoot well from beyond the arc. And good luck for Melo to give up the ball when he decides to post up.

    First time I saw that "train" play in basketball and I've gotta say, it's pretty creative and I see lots of potential in there.
    Won't be surprised if other coaches will adapt it in their playbooks or put their own spin to it....

    • @bballbreakdown
      @bballbreakdown  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Matthew del Rosario I saw Terry Porter running it with the top high school athletes at Adidas Nations a couple of years ago so I imagine it's trickling in

    • @PapaMatt107
      @PapaMatt107 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it looks difficult to perfect though. takes a lot of chemistry for the players to be able to pull off consistently especially the two guys giving the screens. and i don't think any team can pull it off without players who have tremendous basketball IQ's to execute it properly. all 5 guys on the floor should be on sync and knows what they want to do, where they should be, and when to move for that play to yield positive results....

    • @jamaica4805
      @jamaica4805 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which of the plays of the video are you talking about?

    • @blinkmeever
      @blinkmeever 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matthew del Rosario I personally think it's not that hard to execute. The problem is that the more gifted players are likely to abandon the actions very early and ask for the ball. Well, at least that's whats happening in nba. Too many times I saw players like LBJs, melon or even kid try to copy and run Spurs motion strong yet they give up on the play after the first or second option and they never really try to set a solid screen which is actually gonna get their teammates open.

    • @PapaMatt107
      @PapaMatt107 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that's why I've said players have to be in sync with the play. otherwise, it will most likely end up as a bad possession no matter how talented the players are on the floor. all 5 guys should buy in the offense for it to work properly. talent alone won't get it done in the long run. otherwise, the Cavs should be the reigning NBA champs now and not the Warriors....

      BBALLBREAKDOWN Slovenia shot 15/24 from three, and based their defense on double teaming Pau/Marc in the post and leaving Rubio to shoot threes. Eventually they just went into panic mode and started playing iso ball with marc/pau and burping up bad contested shots. Dončić had 11p 12reb 8ast

      BBALLBREAKDOWN Slovenia made every shot , Spain missed everything . Slovenia defended very well the zone and Spain's big man couldn't get any easy shots . Spain panicked in the 3rd quarter and instead of trying to attack the basket and get fouls they just settled for ISO ball and kept shooting 3s which they did not make . Spain defense and rebound was pretty bad aswell so they weren't able to run the fast break either .

    Hey Coach Nick, the game between SLO and ESP was great tactics by SLO on both ends of the court. Screening beautifully as a team on offense to get a lot of open corner 3s and rolls on offense. And on defense they were daring Ricky Rubio and Pau Gasol to shoot 3s which they missed and so their problems in defending the ESP postups didn´t hurt that much.

    Coach you must do a video analysing the game between Slovenia and Spain in the round of 4, answering: Why didn't Scariolo subb in Sergio earlier in the 4th? Why was he in the bench for so much time in the first place? How did Slovenia enforce their tempo and rythm in a must more experienced Spain? What do you think about the way Doncic played? Do you believe that Spain has just been dethroned from the top in European basketball or was this just luck on Slovenia's side? How was it possible for players that don't even play in the Euroleague (Slovenia's bench) to come in the game and play against NBA players so well? Will Slovenia win gold? How important to you think Randolph is in Slovenia's sucess?
    And last but not least: this is not the most talented generation of Slovenia basketball so how did they achieve something that no other generation has? (Just for generall knowledge when asked by a greek reporter this exact question Dragic replied "Because we have balls")

      +Odysseas Syros great answer by Dragic and he's the answer. He has been dominating and responsible for controlling the tempo. I only watched the 4th quarter so I need to watch it today to see what happened. Pau looked terrible from what I saw

    Latvian NT moved ball much much better than Knics. NY must hire that coach as assistant atleast.

    coach nick please do an x/o review of my team Pilipinas from the recent FIBA cup we sucked against korea but the worse thing is no one wants an honest breakdown of how we got our asses handed to us.
