  • This is a Classic Bloke story more than a classic boat. Paul Harris, is a Miracle Man, he was struck down with a rare Aortic Dissection and lived. He's still sailing his Centaur, but getting crew is often a problem. Those brave enough to join him know he could die at the helm at anytime. Give yourself the time to watch this video to the end. This is one amazing man who says, his boat is keeping him alive. Copyright Bob Aylott myclassicboat.com Music Audionautix. Please share......it could save a life.

Fair play to Paul, we don't appreciate our own health until we hear him, I am sure loads of good sailing folk would want to crew with such a fine fellow

I love your attitude, sir. Sometimes all we CAN do is laugh a bit while talking about how not strong we may feel. Peace be with you as you go,sir.

Just shows you can fix a heroin addiction but unfortunately there is no cure for sailing

Your brave man Paul, as much for discussing your illness and it’s associated problems as well as your sailing. Good luck and fair winds for the future mate.

Never heard of this condition Paul. The way you describe the attack sounds horrific. Decent stiff upper lip for sharing the story; thank you. Hope you manage the long term solution to this to keep your health and, amongst other things, you keep sailing. Forgive me for making light of the situation (but we Brits can be like this without getting too excited).....find yourself a crew comprising of paramedics. If you can’t, I’ll crew for you.

A motorboat might be a better option in his case but well done him keeping his dream alive and carrying on with boating. I know what it's like to live with a long term condition and at times it can be crap but it does make you realize your own mortality and you end up living a fuller life because of it as you now your time is precious.

I'd love to sail with Paul. Here's a idea...short, local voyages to begin with...Paul teaches me how to sail, I'll sail with him! All the best to this great man....
