I had a similar situation went to buy a boat in France which was located in a lake next to marseille with a bridge blocking my exit. I was trapped as covid decided to arrive just as I arrived in France so full lock down chaos. Impossible to fix my boat, get parts etc etc so I timed it right with the bridge lifting up and bombed it out of the lake through the water way and out into the meditaranean Sea. We were one of the very few people to see the meditaranean empty bet the last time this happened was 1000 of years ago and as you can imagine endless marine life activity due to everyone being told to stay locked up in their houses. Had to bounce to anchorages with a broken new boat as we had to avoid authorities and other problems. Weeks handsteering offshore lots broken and not working, orca attacks, pirate attack and general attacks from the Spanish authorities which resulted in atleast £80,000 in fines/repairs. The world is not built for us sailors and full time live aboards anymore, I actually can't think of one honest sailing TH-cam channel as they never talk about the nitty gritty and REAL negative experiences about sailing and making land fall in new places it's all about naked girls and alcoholics trying to be cool which is not interesting whatsoever.

I'm Ok, a few long Covid issues, but hope to return to shooting more on water videos as soon as it's safe and I'm 100%. Don't want to end up getting wet again. Thanks for asking.

im also from walton on naze i was locked down in the caribbean ] i headed back to the uk in june. 2020 .ill be off again next spring.
