    I changed my air filter and cleaned everything out.
    Definitely needed it.
    But made zero discernible difference to performance and economy.
    Bit disappointing, lol.

    I thought a dirty sparkplug played a much bigger role on MPG than a dirty air filter.

    My 2010 rogue was getting only like 17-15 mpg, took a look into the air filter and found out that it was completely clogged, never got a code or light on the dash, but cleaned the whole air intake system and installed a K&N filter and I'm back to 22-25 mpg, made a huge difference, also took the time to take a look on the spark plugs and coil packs, everything is fine there, still need to clean or replace that catalityc and clean or replace the injectors because none has never been replaced and the car has already 186k miles on it.

    Yup, rodents in both my car and truck. Once the first rodent comes in, it’s over, there will be a daisy chain of them as they follow each other’s smell. I fixed the car (for a while) with hardware cloth epoxied in a couple spots. It is nuts though that OEMs would not make vehicles rodent-resistant, especially for 4WD trucks that are designed to go (and sometimes stay overnight) up forestry and back roads.

    Great tip re: mice, getting in there. I have had this problem, but don't know where they are getting in....so that's a big help to start. So GROSS. I think they are in my air vents, but the 1999 Rodeo doesn't have a cabin filter so access means I'd have to remove the whole front of ny dashboard....No videos on how to do that so far. I did stick mothballs where I fond a nest by my emergency brake box. Smell keeps me out too but it seems to help.

    Hi, I just recently bought my first car its a 2010 Subaru Impreza hatchback and I love it but the fuel consumption is just ridiculous, its only doing 360km max per full tank of 98 fuel and im only driving calmly not aggressively. I just listed it for sale as it costing me $100 Aud per fill and only getting 360kms out of a full tank and I hardly drive it at the moment. I’ve taken the car to 2 mechanics. One of which is a specialist Subaru mechanic called the Subie Doctor, He did a minor service on the car as well as a few other things, he also took the car for a drive with a scanner on it and he said all data is within the normal specification. The 2nd mechanic also looked at the car and put it on a scanner and couldn’t find anything wrong with it but my cousin has a 2009 Impreza RS and his only uses 10L/100km so there must be something wrong with mine? I’m lost at this point and don’t know what to do? I love the car and want to get it fixed. Could it be a blocked fuel injector or a bad oxygen sensor that’s causing the issue? I’ve cleaned the MAF sensor and the throttle body but no luck. I’d really appreciate it if someone could help me out. Thanks

    Great content, clear, short, to the point, love it. Thank you.
    Please don't add music to any demo, DIY, tour, cooking, or animal videos. It hurts the ears with too much noise, makes it hard to focus, and irritates the viewers so they leave fast or turn sound off and miss much of the info. There is ZERO benefit in adding music to the background even at whisper levels. It is audio noise and intensely, insanely irritating to many viewers. You would get more subscribers without added background noise. The voice is enough.
    I would love to subscribe but cannot handle the extra noise on my ears. Too much.

What could cause it beside a airfilter. I put it in shop when it started running bad they said it was a bad cadi so they replace it. didnt fix the problem so they said it was a bad 02 sensor and still didnt fix the car running like doo. They then said it was a bad mas air flow sensor and my car runs worse now than it did before. all from a p420 code. It dont come on but my car still feels bad. rpm move up and down and sometimes when im on a hill it feels like running on the warning bumps on the side of the rd.

    Tell me the technical reason for poor gas mileage. If the computer is matching the available incoming air to fuel for the 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio all I see is poor performance

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tim Dienst There are so many reasons for poor gas mileage from bad O2 sensor to bad tire pressure to bad spark plugs. Thanks for watching!

    • @Bluephrog
      @Bluephrog 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1A Auto Parts of course there’re plenty of reasons why you CAN have poor gas mileage. But you said that a clogged air filter would do it. My point is if everything is running correctly the computer should be correcting the air/fuel mixture. To me this would mean poor performance due to poor air flow (less air less fuel). The computer should be correcting for poorer air as well as other degradation of other engine controls. That is why tune ups are needed. Such as Spark plugs, air filters, O2 sensors, EGR, throttle body cleaning. Even intake valve cleaning.
