I think it’s funny how Rodgers won (at this point he deserves so hopefully) the MVP without ever really being favored. He simply did what he does best; throw a lot of touchdowns, limit turnovers, have some absolute dimes, and when need be, have a high yardage game. I don’t think he was ever the front runner until every other supposed candidate (Stafford, Jackson, Murray, Brady) had sufficient time to get injured or puke on themselves enough to remove themselves from the conversation. Now here we are, and Rodgers is the only one who was consistent.

@@TDR-0484 it takes rookies at QB quite a bit to adjust. Especially when you have to learn an entirely new playstyle. In college they literally tailor the game to your strengths and build off you. In the NFL you are forced to learn a new scheme and style. It takes as long as it needs. Doesn't help if the schemes are garbage and your players don't get separation. It's like putting a dominant right tackle at left tackle. All your mannerisms muscle memory changes as you have to re-learn. Takes some time. It's like putting Mahomes on the Lions or jets. You can't expect a QB to just be thrown in and carry a poor offense despite their raw ability.

    The Best (range = 95 - 99): Rodgers, Mahomes
    Excellent (range = 90 - 94): Allen, Brady
    Very good (range = 85 - 89): Hebert, Burrow, R Wilson
Good (range = 80 - 84) Stafford, Murray, Prescott, Lamar

I have to strongly disagree with the TLaw grade. Sure, stat-wise he looks like just another Jags QB, but you have to remember several things:
    - Urban Decay happened and had goddamn Carlos Hyde in the backfield more than JRob for the time he was here.
    - His weapons (if you could even call them that) dropped so many passes that part of his INT count was because of the receiver unable to catch a ball.
    - There's zero pass protection on the Jags; they were built as a run first team with JRob in the backfield and it showed whenever JRob had the ball in his hands.
Basically, the Jags screwed over TLaw's rookie year and he had to make the best of what he was given. Honestly, I'd give him a D+ for what he had to endure, as he shows signs of a great NFL QB but also has his inexperience to deal with down the line.

Patrick Mahomes looked unstoppable before this season, so it seems fair to be surprised at his slight drop in production. I think a B is a fair grade, although I think a B+ is more appropriate. Giving Matt Ryan a D+ is just disrespectful. He lost his number 1 receiver (Julio) in the offseason, his number 2 receiver (Ridley) only played in like 4 games. His top receiver this year was a ROOKIE TE. He also had the 2nd worst graded O-Line (1st is Miami I believe), giving him a grand total of 40 sacks. So he didn’t generate any pocket presence because there wasn’t even a pocket to begin with. Outside of Pitts, Gage, and sometimes Patterson, Ryan has had a bunch of nobodies as targets. Yet, despite all of that, he still managed to only miss the 4K yards mark by 32 yards.
Now, just imagine if Ridley played the full season, the O-line was at least average, and he never lost Julio. Matt Ryan is a good QB and I’m tired of people slandering/hating on him and blaming him for the Falcons failure.

From what I've seen in the playoffs is that the guy has great pocket presence. The oline is trash, but Jimmy doesn't get sacked alot because he typically knows where to step and releases the ball very fast.
Plus their receiving core is trash. They have deebo who is great but is not a traditional receiver and a receiver best with shorter routes, and a tight end who is great but its a tight end, you are going to sling it with receivers like that, and an oline that gives you little time.
As a cowboys fan, I'd take Jimmy. I saw enough to know for a fact that he does alot that Prescott can't do. Where as Prescott does stuff that any qb college or nfl can do.
