Regular Season 1984 Dan Marino - broke the all time single season TD record by 12 TDs which was set 23 years earlier, the first single season with 5,000 yards. Post-season 1989 Joe Montana - 11-TDs 0-INTs in just 3 games with a 78.3% completion percentage, even today that is absolute god like, and to put that into perspective if he had played all 16 regular season games at that pace he would've had a 59-TD 0-INT season and that was against what's supposed to be the toughest teams playing at their most intense.

If you keep separating them by era's there is no point to the GOAT list. I only bring up mahomes cause this guy had him at high on his greatest QB list and didn't have Brady on it at all....
@@JDBass36 Exactly, lol. We don’t know how Brady would’ve done without great defences, he probably wouldn’t have won all those superbowls but at the same time could you really see any Qb taking teams to 7 superbowls without at least decent defences. There’s also the fact he ranked Brady 2 tiers below the top in his Qb tier list at above average. I can respect the opinion that he’s not the best Qb this season but he has to be higher than “above average”.
@@JDBass36 I think I poorly worded my point or you misunderstood me. I completely agree with you. Everything around him has changed and he’s still winning, he’s the common denominator, it’s stupid to argue that it was his defence that carried him. When I said he probably wouldn’t have won all those Super Bowls I meant that with poor defences he might’ve dropped a few e.g. what happened in Super Bowl 52.
Regular Season
1984 Dan Marino - broke the all time single season TD record by 12 TDs which was set 23 years earlier, the first single season with 5,000 yards.
Post-season
1989 Joe Montana - 11-TDs 0-INTs in just 3 games with a 78.3% completion percentage, even today that is absolute god like, and to put that into perspective if he had played all 16 regular season games at that pace he would've had a 59-TD 0-INT season and that was against what's supposed to be the toughest teams playing at their most intense.
I can agree with that but if you combine both regular and post it would be Steve young in 94 imo
Def think Rodgers 2020 deserves a lot more respect. Dude picked apart every defense he played minus Tampa, and what quarterback has ever had 0 bad games?
Led the league in passer rating, completion %, TD, int%, TD/int, and I think YPA. All of that in what was the most offensive gear ever, Aaron stood at the top of every major stat, and his team only lost 4 games
Actually his YPA was 8.2 which is good but not all time great. Plus offensive numbers are so inflated now even when compared to 5-10 years ago.
@@conquistadorito That’s fair but a 48-5 TD/INT ratio is beyond nuts

I might be biased as a Giants fan but I think Y.A Tittle should be on this list for his 1963 season. He had 36 TDs, 3145 yards with an 8.6 YPA. His passer rating was 104. The passing record would also stand for over 30 years
Also considering the era (1963) those stats are absolutely bonkers. Look at the numbers most qb's, even the good ones put up in those days.

Y.A. Tittle 1963 is one of the more underestimated and unknown seasons of all time
Yup, 84 Marino is phenomenal.
Brady could throw 50 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, set records for yards and win every game and Barry would say it’s cause of the defense
Are you saying he’s wrong?
When you consider how the Patriots routinely bailed Brady out of poor performances, he's right.
@@jackaboygaming7053 in my opinion, yes.
Watching Dan Marino throw the ball is so satisfying
I think 2020 Aaron Rodgers should be on the list, considering his numbers were just as good if not better than 2011.
Then again Rodgers had a better running game, defense, and head coach than in 2011
Still worthy of top 10 though

The number of 1,000 yard seasons Randy Moss, Brandon Lloyd, Brandin Cooks, Mike Evans, Antonio Brown, and Chris Godwin combined had before playing with Tom Brady: 24
Some QB's make their receivers into hall of famers, others have hall of famers served to them on a silver platter
Lol this is ridiculous. Brady has 1 season with Evan’s, Brown, and Godwin and had only two seasons with miss where one of them he went undefeated. When handed hof receivers he either goes undefeated or wins the Super Bowl. Bring good stats to the argument not this crap
@@samaltum4024 I sure hope someone could go "undefeated" (I think Eli disagrees with that statement) with Randy Moss and a top 5 defense or win a super bowl with 3 receivers who recorded a 1,000 yard season before playing with him alongside a top 10 defense.
lol, let's just ignore that Brady won 3 Super Bowls with the likes of David Patton and David Givens...then made 7th round former QB Julian Edelman into a borderline Hall of Famer with no other elite players in that era other than Gronk, still going on to have an entire second dynasty. but lean on your '1000 yard seasons' if it makes you feel better.

It would really suck but also be quite interesting if mahomes turned out to be another aaron rodgers who was the best qb of all time but only won one superbowl early in his career and could have multiple chances at another but kept getting let down or choking in the playoffs
Nope! Not in this timeline, lol
To say Tom Brady isn’t good because he dinks and dunks is like saying that consistency isn’t extremely good. He has those stats for a reason and whatever reason it is kinda irrelevant to whether or not the stats are real.
Yeah, he's just a hater, lol. If brady is so bad, why can't anyone just adjust and figure out his dink and dunking?
as a saints fan, ive always tried to defend matt ryan (probably because his career situation is similar to drew brees) and hes easily one of the greatest qbs in my lifetime, but im taking 2011 brees over 2016 ryan. Yeah matt ryan went to super bowl but he also got to play against the seahawks (with no earl thomas) in the divisional and the packers (shit tier garbage defense) in the NFC championship whereas drew brees hung 460 yards, 4tds, and 32 points vs 49ers (one of the top defenses that year), 3 fumbles from his teammates, and sat on the sidelines as he watched his defense lose the game. i have no issue with anybody putting 2016 ryan at #10, just my opinion
not to mention over Kurt Warner's and Steve Youngs
2020 rodgers was special. Has to be there
Id argue Rodgers 2020 needs to be on here.
@Akbar Shabazz-Jenkins im the biggest arod fan but 2011 numbers dont do him justice. He was on a different level that year that no qb has ever reached.
@@amn6303 agreed. In 2020, the only thing that Rodgers didn’t have better than his 2011 season was his wr core. Everything from running game, to defense, to coaching

2009 and 2011 Drew Brees should be up here that dude was throwing rockets and had the best stats
Maybe I’m being a hater as a Saints fan, but Ryan’s 2016 season isn’t better than what Brees did in 2011.
2016 Matt Ryan is like the statistical floor of prime Drew Brees.
Drew is once again overlooked… robbed out of multiple mvps too
2009 would be an honorable mention at most for me, but 2011 definitely should’ve been on here
Top 3 could all interchangeable imo but 2011 Rodgers for me is the goat regular season. Rodgers didn’t have a RB rush for over 100 yards in a single game that year and he had the worst pass defense in NFL history at his back.
But Peyton and Danny’s seasons are justifiably just as elite. Great list Barry.
Rodgers also had some killer talent to throw to and while that defense wasn’t great, they forced a whole hell of a lot of turnovers (tied for first at 38) that served to set him up well enough. Still an insane season either way.
