Bandmaid refuses to be restricted to any genre. They are their own genre. Isn't this how rock all began in the 50's
Between these two songs is the wide capacity of these girls to compose from stoner rock to speed metal without losing a grain of catchiness in their choruses. Amazing.

I felt the same way, they do increase complexity as Manners goes along.
"Manners": It is more about their evolution as a band, because they grow all the time and "The Unseen World" is/was their new album. But also an interesting thought for sure it would also make sense to be honest, but it is about their struggles, evolution, progress and success with their own formula! Cool take on the lyrical meaning. I think that could definitely apply, but mainly it's a manifesto: "This is who we are, what we do, and how we do it. " A more precise translation would be "Methods" but Miku loooooves her wordplay and double meanings.

I think it helps also that Miku is at the point where she's very familiar with English but also not fluent, so I think that allows her more freedom to phrase things in unconventional ways.

Great reaction to this double video of two different songs that fit well together. 'Manners' is my favorite rock song of the century (at least until BM releases another album) and you hit on how mellow and groovy it is. I think the evolution they are talking about is how they have developed as a band from groovy, to the present, to the unseen world - the future?
Your laughter during 'Black Hole' is so appropriate for the frenetic insane chaos, I am looking forward to October to see how a crowd of 1,000 people will react to 'Black Hole'. You were pausing multiple times during 'Black Hole' to be able to process all that was assaulting you, let us know how many times you have to listen to this song before you can process it all. I agree that the bass tone is gorgeous in both songs - MISA rules!

Is it one song or two the man said, Nuh it's several tunes, Band Maid utilise more riffs/melodies in one song than most bands can find for an album. Premier quality, wrapped up in gorgeousness with the capability to musically Kung Fu punch you into rock and roll hospital, fark yeah, okay time for a beer and more Band Maid, peace and love Po 👍🎼🥁🎸🎤🍻
Wait until you hear them do a sad song. They can be heart meltingly beautiful too. Try "About Us" or "Page"

You have a standard rock song (though standard is NOT the right word) and the goes into the wildly experimental stuff like Black Hole.

Basically, they can do prog rock as well. They are amazing.
When I started watching reaction videos on TH-cam, I realized that in Japan, people choose music by artist, but in other countries, they choose music by genre. It seems that the tolerance of the listener on the receiving side affects the creation on the making side .I used Google translation, so please don't mind if the sentence is strange.
Black Hole is a complex song. It is about a black hole 😆
Its a very proggy rock song. Every musician do its own thing, making it hard to follow.
It might be difficult to like this song the first time you hear i. I had to listen some times.
But, when I understood the greatness of the composition I started to love it.
They are, as I said, doing different stuff and Miku might even be doing two things at the same time.
It all is according to plan though at it all make a weave of interleaving movements.
Some claim they love it the first time. But I wonder if it was only the chaos they loved or if they really understood it?
There are many bands that play too many samey songs on their live setlists that you'd be only waiting for a few songs you love and leave someone like me bored shi...but never bandmaid. You can check more different styles...Matchless Gum, Anemone, Wonderland, Sayonakidori, Giovanni.....Bubble.
I've listened to Black Hole so many times, trying to pay attention to MISA/the bass, and I can't. The awesomeness of the vocals, especially Miku's backing vocals draws most of my attention, and what little is left is taken by Akane. One day... 😻

Manners is about to evolve and that you have to put some effort into it to get great. Its not for free. You are right that the song gets more complex. I have no ide if that has to do with the text and meaning of the song. But .... why not?
Band-Maid won't block you. Just in case is the reason for the excessive pausing.
