    For the 6139 I'm pro aftermarket. There are many versions of this watch and they are almost all non-original. You might as well have a refurbished one in good condition, you aren't pretending its a Rolex or a museum piece. This is like the AC Cobra of watches. They are almost all some level of replica purchased 99% for the fun and history of it. So long as the movement is a 6139, the dial is yellow and the bezel is a pepsi tachymeter, thats good enough for me. Preference to lume that doesn't look like a ring of sundried turds and a dial that doesn't look like its covered in rust.

      Totally agree. Just bought a refurb Pogue with this exact philosophy in mind.

    Just a quick note to thank you for post this, it's been REALLY helpful! I'm looking to acquire one as a bit of a legacy to my step-dad, who wore one for decades (before unwittingly throwing it in the bin about 5 years ago, just because the crystal was too scratched up!!)
    Thanks again!

      Have a search for the retro watch group on Facebook, there's people in there who could take care of it.

    Hi, I have one of these seiko watches, it’s dated 1972, got this from my dad in 1977, 18th birthday present, been serviced in the 80’s local jeweller. Never been touched since, broke the strap in the 80’s lost half kept half, put an after market pogue strap on it couple of yrs ago, keeps perfect time but chapter ring doesn’t turn , it never did after service. I don’t see many of these on eBay, blue dial does it have a decent value?

    • @pwrestoration
      @pwrestoration  ปีที่แล้ว

      They did a lot of different coloured dial and inner bezel combinations. Heavily dependent on value in afraid, search for Seiko 6139 and see if you can find it! 😄

    Hey, I have a 6139-6002 (1971/ Blue Dail / Middle East). It is slightly damaged. But everything works properly and runs well. How much could I quote for the watch?

    • @pwrestoration
      @pwrestoration  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there it's difficult to say without seeing pictures of it to be truthful, they vary massively depending on condition and if it is all genuine parts. Send me some details to pw.watchmaking@gmail.com and I'll take a look 🙂

  • @ichris2011
    @ichris2011 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The dial codes are pretty often different from the back codes. As long as the years match up it’s good. Reason being the code just specified when that part was made. Not that watch. So the dial could’ve been made a month or two before the caseback or vice versa. Totally normal. Now if you find one with a back that indicates September of 71 and a dial that’s saying November 75 then you’ve got questions

      Hi there depending on where you are, if in Europe I can certainly have a look. Parts can be expensive with their popularity at the moment, sometimes a full refurb can run into higher figures than expected. A simple service will do it wonders though. DM me on here or Instagram if you want to chat further, thanks, Paul

    The watch featured here I’m sorry, isn’t a “true”Pogue, it’s a Seiko Model 6139-6002. It’s missing all the appropriate dial markings. A Pogue will be a 6139-6005. Champagne dial with “Water 70mResistant at the 9 position. At 12 under Seiko it will simply say Automatic and right under the hands at the shaft, in the 6 o’clock is 17J., meaning 17 Jewels and the Seiko Suwa symbol below that. 👍🏻
