I remember that sound. Where they got the term "rice grinder". I had a Suzuki GT500 2- stroke. Fun and fast. It was a triple, and competition to the Kawasaki 500 triple. I rode both and the Kawasaki had slight acceleration advantage. I got it used in the mid 70's for $400. My friend wrecked it though. Forks bent back and engine locked, off to the motorcycle junk yard. I wonder though if parts are even available if one is restoring one of those old 2-strokes. I can still get parts for my 2-stroke outboard motor, but not sure about bikes.
LOTS OF PARTS FOR RDs ARE AVAILABLE,LUCIANO JUST BOUGHT A NEW FUEL TANK FROM INDIA,engine parts are available I recently got a set of pistons and brand new headlight. Expansion chambers are easy stock exhausts and original airbox a bit tougher but e bay seems to have a never ending supply of two stroke stuff.
