    We have an amazing Ethiopian community here in my hometown of Perth, Western Australia. My wife and I go to their restaurant semi frequently because we love the food... I'm gonna have to see if these dishes are on the menu now!

    I'm amazed at how similar Ethiopian food is to Indian food conceptually.

      Historically Ethiopia was a hub of the spice trade and merchants leaving India to go west would arrive in Ethiopia, Persia or Egypt

      @feuerfawkes:
      However Ethiopian cuisine is even more complex in terms of depth of flavors than Indian cuisine for the reason @Chungus581 said.

      @@violetviolet888 Very interesting! I know quite a lot about Indian cuisine but don't know much about Ethiopian cuisine. Could you elaborate how it is more complex than Indian cuisine and how being a spice hub for trade affected the cuisine itself?

      @@feuerfawkes Watch this video again. And watch videos on creading Indian dishes. There are many more layers of steps and of ingredients over time. You will understand.

      @@violetviolet888I have watched the video and have understood it well. While very impressive, I found nothing striking that makes me think Ethiopian cuisine is more complex than Indian cuisine. I was hoping you could add some credibility to your opinion by laying out the principles of both cuisines and explaining exactly what makes Ethiopian cuisine more complex. But if you can't do that, then that's understandable. I don't expect you to be an expert.

      @carolechavez2238: Yes, However hamburger and hotdogs can take literally 10 minutes over a full day of building magnificent flavor profiles. For this reason it will never become normalized in Western cultures who are addicted to speed and "convenience".
