I’m Ethiopian and I have been eating full since birth. Fava beans is a legume that countries in Mediterranean and Red Sea area have traded and each area has made it it’s own style of cooking. We are all connected through these ancient trades occurring between the ancient empires.

Ethiopian muslim tribes, are the ones that introduced those dishes to Ethiopia via their relationship with the adal sultatanate hundreds of years ago.
A major reason for the ethiopian diaspora was bc of the religious genocide of Hararis and Oromos (predominantly muslim tribes).
The lady in this vid is an amharic, the Christian tribe and the group who perpetuated those genocide via Haile Selassie. I'm not saying she holds those negative beliefs, it's just weird seeing her make that.

Ful is eaten first in North-East Ethiopia and Eritrea into Abyssinia through Sudan and Egypt. It has nothing to do with Oromo who invaded Ethiopia in the 16th century. No need to always obsess about Amhara people and bring religion into this.
