I’ve been doing this for 6 months now and it has been very lucrative. I pull mine on day 13. I sell 18 count cartons for $10-12 double my eating eggs. I do special orders of 100-200eggs at a time to be picked up on day of completion. I have made some good connections at sushi bars.

Terry, I think you did a great job! Got the info I was looking for in your responses to other's questions. You are my go to for any questions on quail. I know you will say you don't know everything, but to me your experience speaks volumes! I'll be sure to email you with any questions I can't find the answers to in others comments. So far, I love ALL your videos! Keep up the great work!

I have known about balut and seen Asian/Fillipino eat them. Definitely not something I would do myself. My heart would get in the way. Now if someone wanted fertile eggs, they can do what they want with them. Thank you for sharin' Terry. :)

You can pretty much use any variety to make balut, but larger eggs are preferred.

start with a higher protein chick or gamebird starter, and they make weight at about 8 - 10 weeks.

I've eaten and enjoy duck balut. But I don't want tough feathers or bones. I definitely like them incubated fewer days. Sometimes in Asia the vendor will lie and sell you a 17 or 18 day balut and tell you it's 14 day. Not cool! Hehe... I still eat the white and yolk, but if the feathers are well formed I don't eat the chicks.

How is this cruel? We eat the eggs and butcher these birds all the time, this is just an egg that’s further along than what you normally eat lol 😆 it’s boiled quail instead of fried or baked quail, it’s just a little younger. There is no pain involved at all so it’s not cruel. Maybe check yourself before being dramatic! Judging others isn’t something your qualified for; Untitled indeed!

@J J I can survive perfectly well without eating animal products. Animal agriculture causes suffering, and that suffering can be avoided by not participating in it. Why should something be required to die just so I can eat it, when I could eat things that can't suffer?
