I think it was 1/8 and I just got a thin piece of Medel lined it up with the rear of the box in area. Took to a medal beaming shop and told them make it exactly
Funny you ask I was just kicking it around yesterday. I have about3” piece left. I can send it to you and you can take it to a medal shop and have them bend it exactly
Wow bro. That looks incredible. You really wanted to do something a little different than everyone else. And it shows. Now ima take some tips from you. My frame coming back out next year so i can redo that piece lol im not happy with it.
@pablosbuickgarage Nice I was hoping to see the body on because Im doing my 86 T-Type. Im waiting on some buddys to help put the body back on before I finalize that part and the rear cross member. I love these cars, but I hate them too!!!
Vaga Bond it should. Look at the Eastwood chart on that welder and see what thickness it can handle. That will also help you with the settings on the welder
I like how they came out
Nice job on that frame bro.your vids answered all my ???s
GBoDYon4s thanks bro.
Nice work bud
Christopher Lane thanks bro! More vids coming soon
Where'd u get those from... I've been bracing my cutlasses frame..I just need the rails..
Christopher Lane I had them made. Any steel bending shop can make it for you. Just make a template of the angles you want.
Nice.... lookin factory...

What size gauge and bending measurement did you use

Big Deezy thanks bro. I have more vids of more reinforcement for upper and lower control arms
Did you put any sort of rust preventative inside the frame before you welded that up?
Unfortunately no. Now that it’s Powdercoated I guess I’ll have to spray some w-d all in there lol
Hey bro you think i can use my 120 amp flux core welder to work on my frame,, what kind of welder are you using? Very nice work bro!!!
Chuy Avila you should be ok with 1/8 steel. But anything bigger you want to get a better welder. I use a Lincoln 180. Thanks
Did the frame fit back on to the body?
terry Andrews I haven’t finished the frame yet. But with all the measurements it will fit back in the pockets that the frame sit in on the body
Nice job how much would you charge for something like that
Jose Banuelos sorry but I don’t have time to do.
looks like he is going to have an issue with the body clearing the floor pan. gotta angle the metal out as it goes up.
It is angled. Fits perfectly. No clearing issues

Where can I buy this
Medal shop.
What thickness? Did you buy at local steel shop in your area with bends already in?
Vernon LeSure I made a template of the shape. Gave it to a local steel fab shop and they bent it. It’s 1/8 steel
This is coming for mine.
What year make and model is this? I've got an 88 monte ss and need to box it, you got the exact measurements or template or anything?
chris ryan 86 t-type. I have some left over piece I can send you. You can take to a medal fab shop and have them bend and cut for you
@@pablosbuickgarage oh nice ok let me know what's the shipping cost or whatever, how can I send you a message?
chris ryan pablorodriguez3@gmail.com or just hit my cell 916-308-4962
So I gotta ask, did it effect how the crossmember is installed and removed? Or no problem?
No problems
Doesn’t effect anything with the mounting of the crossmember
@@pablosbuickgarage awesome thank you, I went to the local shop in town and got some c chanel about to do this weekend 🤟
Make sure to have it sit in the frame as far as possible.
Would a Eastwood 135 welder work
Vaga Bond it should. Look at the Eastwood chart on that welder and see what thickness it can handle. That will also help you with the settings on the welder
