It's not what you know, it's based more upon ability to recognize patterns which is considered an ability to learn!! Take online IQ test to prove to yourself, don't take my words for it! Manson definitely had a high IQ! He learned to become what he became!

There is a huge difference between psychopathic manipulation and intelligence. My brother used to do Charles Manson’s psychological evaluations and he would sound intelligent for a while before spinning off into psychological manipulation and nonsense.
