    I would like to summarize it with this.
    Plan A: COMBO
    Plan B: Rebuild plan A or back up Combo
    Plan C: Voltron

    My first Voltron was Wyleth, Soul of steel which ended up becoming an Akiri, Fearless Voyager Equipment deck.
    My second Voltron was Light-Paws, Emporer's Voice until I finally got tired of tutoring and shuffling twice sometimes 4 times a turn. Her cards got repurposed into Eriette of the Charmed Apple.
    My third and only remaining Voltron is Thrun, Breaker of Silence. He solves Voltron's second biggest problem which is it's fragility. At some point I soltted in worldslayer, grafted exoskeleton, and a whole other host of cards but took them out recently to focus more on increasing his power. You can give him as much evasion as you want but if he isn't one to two shotting players then your opponents have more time to find answers. The best removal is player removal.

    I have a Traxos, Scourge of Kroog voltron deck. While not being cedh viable, I’ve taken out numerous 4-man pods simply by casting my commander on turns 1-2 and dumping equipment and stax pieces onto the board. Only issue with a colorless commander is the lack of card draw.

    The real problem with voltron... it's card inefficiency. The card that can deal combat dmg are Animar... he is used as a combo enabler in the command zone, that's it. Other than that, it's wasting a slot to have a voltron commander. Cedh is about using the best cards for the job, and not having inefficient slots.

    What do you think of Feather, the Redeemed? Together with equipment, combat tricks and cards like Zada, I think it could actually be a decent Commander with a good Voltron plan.
    Not to mention that Sunforger would be absolutely amazing in that deck

    • @hiddenleaf414
      @hiddenleaf414 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ido Sherman my Feather deck has been done for a week now. So far it’s 5-1. One game i killed all three players with Commander damage when the turn before none of them had any commander damage.
      1 mana for Brute Force, 1 mana for Built to Smash, 1 mana for Brute Strength and then 2 mana for Boros Charm (double strike). Had Aurelia out for 2 combat turns and then Seize the Day to kill the last player. And all the spells come back to hand at end step too.
      It’s so easy to kill someone with commander damage out of nowhere for 5 mana.

    • @wackzacko
      @wackzacko 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the problem with Feather is that there's no plan a or b. You have a deck built around the vultron and/or the Zada Walue train, but what happens when one of your opponents has any sort of interaction? Also, Feather isn't getting cast reliably on turn 2 (not enough t1 ramp in boros she her colors make it so Sol Ring and Mana Crypt don't intently help you cast her), so you're probably tapping out turn 3 to cast her and then you have very little chance to protect her (maybe you were a mana left over if you ramped on turn 2) until your next turn, especially if she gets counterspelled.
      If she gets named with Nevermore then at that point, you have a deck left with mediocre cantrips
      I think her power might be underrated, but if people let you untap with her, she could be hard to deal with, depending on the cards in her controller's hands

    • @hiddenleaf414
      @hiddenleaf414 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Evan Toth 100%
      I only have one deck for cedh, most of the time i play casual which for Feather is the perfect power level.
      I will say even in my casual level i normally bring her out turn 4 with a 1 mana protection spell in hand because losing her early game is just game ending.
      The nice thing about Feather is you have almost 20 1-2 mana instant protection spells that you get back from her ability.
      Weird thing but I took sol ring out, almost all my instant spells are 1 mana colored or maybe 2 mana with 1 colorless.
      Also Mirrorwing Dragon is a nicer version of Zada so you have 2 of that, Sunforger is a MVP and you have sooooo much exile removal.
      Even tho the deck isnt competitive the mana curve is so low that is gets going almost as quick.

    • @shaunmcisaac782
      @shaunmcisaac782 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wackzacko Just leave W up for God's Willing sort of effects, and that isn't super hard to do. Sol Ring effects aren't great, but all the 2 drop mana rocks get you to enough {W/R} to be able to put her out. If she gets blown up, w/e, you come back on t4 w/o the cantrip backup. Ideally your opponents are holding 3+ removal spells that hit feather AND don't have more pressing targets. Sometimes you're going to get a loss based on that. Whatever.. that's MTG. Chin up shuffle up :)

    • @wackzacko
      @wackzacko 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shaunmcisaac782 In a casual game, I'm sure she's gonna be sweet! Absolutely agree!
      but I don't think the power level is there for competitive. Boros doesn't have enough efficient interaction, Boros doesn't tutor especially well, and Feather asks you to play pretty bad cards (pump spells/situational spells)..
      I don't think strong in casual games equates to cedh viability

    I've seen a Zurgo deck win against tier 1 commanders such as Teferi, Gitrog, Zur, Kess, etc.
