You can test the speakers with a multimeter in continuity mode. The meter puts out a volt or 2 with a small current limit, and you'll hear it if you listen closely when you touch the probes to the connector. You could also just tape some wire to a 1.5v battery and do the same test.

Finally got around to doing this, It all went well except the steering configuration function can't tell the difference between the buttons. Only one button at a time can be configured on each side of the steering wheel. i.e if you configure Mute the Vol- & Vol+ buttons will also as Mute. If you configure Vol+ , the Mute and Vol- buttons will increase Volume too the same issue happens for the other side of the steering wheel. Maybe the Voltage range is too small between buttons and the unit sees them all the same? Its disappointing , the unit looks identical to the one in the video , but the steering configuration screen looks different . Mine is an Android 10.1 I don't know if that's got anything to do with it

I also had to select one of 3 in built Pull up Resister values. Once I did all that it all worked . I just want to say I appreciate your videos on the 147, especially this one. Although I understand why you did it this way, this is a perfect example of how NOT to wire in a stereo. You've cut off a standard connector that the majority of stereos have looms designed to plug straight into - causing yourself lots of work both now and at any future point you want to change things. Given your stereo loom didn't have an ISO plug on initially, you'd have been much better served by connecting a ISO plug to that than butchering the car's wiring.
Hi ARC, maybe will be a stupid question, can you (we) use E-Sim (for internet connection) in these multimedias or only hotspot? There is better way to connect this multimedia, you could use/buy euro jack(male type) and solder multimedia wires to it, so you can plug in to factory harnes which is also euro jack(female type)... This way you or someone else can also plug in factory radio back, cuz factory connectors are stll there...
I had that in mind, but I couldn't source the connector locally, and I would have to wait significantly longer for the one bought online due to the virus (this was when everything was under lock-down)...

@@davidmfra Of course I made them work, I just didn't use any additional components...
Hello, thanks for the tip. Can you install this screen but without the control buttons on the steering wheel ? if so my daughter is beging to install it in here car. Regards michel
Do everything as it is shown in the video, but do not touch the green connector... Everything will be the same but you won't have the steering wheel controls...
Hi the stereo wont turn off even with keys out. It shows the time and it drained the battery.
I answered on the other comment...
Sorry i cannot find the comment
Dear sir, have you idea what color the silver dashboard is, original reference or how to do, I've already tried two sprays and I can't get a proper shade of color
No I don't, but you can take a piece of trim to a good paint shop and they will mix a exact shade in spray for you...
@@arcgarage, good idea, thx, i´ll have to take an afternoon of these...
Hi! The commands on the steering wheel and the radio station information on the control panel are still working with the new radio? Thank you
Yes, in my case, they're working perfectly...
@@arcgarage Perfect, thank you 👌
what's the sound quality like compared to the original radio?
The sound did degrade with this head unit, but if you have bose it doesn't. I just installed Atoto head unit in147, will be posting a video soon, it is much better quality unit and the sound is exceptional
@@arcgarage I'm planning to upgrade the factory radio so I'm searching for multimedia/android units...
@@lebronnaumoskinn I'll be posting the video in a couple of days, this unit that I installed is android, had the same one in Giulietta for about a year, and I'm more than pleased with it
This is BOSE system in your car or not? If it is, you connected it to speakerwire or 4x RCA line out?
No Bose system...
Finally got around to doing this, It all went well except the steering configuration function can't tell the difference between the buttons.
Only one button at a time can be configured on each side of the steering wheel.
i.e if you configure Mute the Vol- & Vol+ buttons will also as Mute. If you configure Vol+ , the Mute and Vol- buttons will increase Volume too
the same issue happens for the other side of the steering wheel.
Maybe the Voltage range is too small between buttons and the unit sees them all the same?
Its disappointing , the unit looks identical to the one in the video , but the steering configuration screen looks different .
Mine is an Android 10.1 I don't know if that's got anything to do with it
It could be due to the unit, did you save the learned buttons properly?
@@arcgarage iots not like yours, there isnt a save button. There are no instructions but from what I can see , you press the key then the steering button. I tried the other way but I get the same results. I will make a video and upload it and give you the link in the next 24 hours , see what you think .
@ARC Garage Its all good now, I realised the Manual was incorrect , the English in the was very poor and hard to understand.
The manual also had the steps back the front when allocating the function. i.e. the manual said to press the Steering Button then the Screen Icon. But in fact its the other way around.
I also had to select one of 3 in built Pull up Resister values. Once I did all that it all worked .
I just want to say I appreciate your videos on the 147, especially this one. It was your video that inspired me to get one of these units and Im now very happy
Thanks
@@yoesomite2199 I am glad it all worked out, hope you enjoy it, and thank you very much for support...

I have the same radio, but the touch screen does not work when turn on, could it be the wiring?
I think there is something wrong with the unit...
Hi, what did you do with the brown wire ("back" or "parking sensor control wire")
Hi, I don't have them on my car, so I didn't use it...
@@arcgarage but do you know which of the wires in the original diagram i have to connect? I can't find a reference

Amazing video. Do you happen to know where I could buy the bose speakers for a GT? I'm thinking of doing an upgrade on my 07 gt since it didn't come w the bose speakers. 🙁
Thanks, I would get them second hand, from another broken down GT. You will also need an amplifier...

Could I have the link for the wiring colours on the Alfa GT 2008?
Did you check online?
Does it drain the car's battery faster? Nice video!
No it does not...
hello, many thanks, i need to do it but on a bose GT , how do you get the alfa logo for the screen ?
No problem, here's the video of the installation on my GT th-cam.com/video/G6cKDrbltxg/w-d-xo.html , I created the logo in the Photoshop, uploaded it, and set it up in the factory settings of the multimedia...
Very nice
Thanks
Although I understand why you did it this way, this is a perfect example of how NOT to wire in a stereo. You've cut off a standard connector that the majority of stereos have looms designed to plug straight into - causing yourself lots of work both now and at any future point you want to change things. Given your stereo loom didn't have an ISO plug on initially, you'd have been much better served by connecting a ISO plug to that than butchering the car's wiring.
You also have the video on the channel with the replacement connector
Hi ARC, maybe will be a stupid question, can you (we) use E-Sim (for internet connection) in these multimedias or only hotspot? Thank you, and for all your videos too :)
Ohw, and one more question, the Diagram in the description applies to the (original) GT Navigation-version autoradio too? Thanks =)
Thanks for support... Only hotspot on this one. Wiring diagram is only for regular radio...
hey ARC, I’m planing to change the radio system of my Alfa 145, according to your expertise, which 7 inch tablet can you recommend me. I know the setup of 145 is different than 147
Honestly, I would opt-out for the same one in the video. It is decent, fairly priced, and it will fit well in 145...

There is better way to connect this multimedia, you could use/buy euro jack(male type) and solder multimedia wires to it, so you can plug in to factory harnes which is also euro jack(female type)... This way you or someone else can also plug in factory radio back, cuz factory connectors are stll there...
I had that in mind, but I couldn't source the connector locally, and I would have to wait significantly longer for the one bought online due to the virus (this was when everything was under lock-down)...
thanks for this comment
